Gotovo četiri godine nakon samoubojstva osuđenog pedofila i američkog milijardera Jeffreya Epsteina nastavljaju se nizati skandali vezani uz njegovo ime, piše Jutarnji list.
Najnovija istraga The Wall Street Journala otkriva da se Epstein, nakon što je registriran kao seksualni prijestupnik, sastajao s aktualnim direktorom CIA-e Williamom Burnsom, savjetnicom Bijele kuće za vrijeme predsjednika Baracka Obame, Kathryn Ruemmler, direktoricom švicarske banke Ariane de Rothschild i američkim lingvistom Noamom Chomskym.
Prema Epsteinovom kalendaru sastanaka u koje je The Wall Street Journal imao uvid, Burns se tri puta sastao s Epsteinom, u vrijeme dok je bio zamjenik državnog tajnika i prije nego je postao direktor CIA-e. Prvo su se sreli u Washingtonu, a zatim je Burns posjetio Epsteinovu kuću na Manhattanu.
Glasnogovornica CIA-e Tammy Kupperman Thorp kaže da se Burns sastao s Epsteinom dok se spremao napustiti državnu službu te da nije znao ništa o milijarderu, osim da je stručnjak za sektor financijskih usluga.
‘Otok grijeha‘
Ruemmler se nekoliko desetaka puta sastala s Epsteinom nakon njezine službe u Bijeloj kući i prije nego što je 2020. postala odvjetnica Goldman Sachs Grupe. Dokumenti također pokazuju da se Ruemmler trebala 2015. pridružiti Epsteinu na putovanju u Pariz i da je 2017. posjetila njegov privatni ‘otok grijeha‘ na Karibima, gdje je on redovito dovodio maloljetne djevojke radi seksualnih igrica. Dokumenti pokazuju da je Epstein dobro poznavao neke od svojih gostiju. Primjerice, tražio je da Ruemmler uvijek dočekaju sushi rolice od avokada.
Jedan od najistaknutijih lingvista, filozofa i aktivista dvadesetoga stoljeća, Noam Chomsky, s Epsteinom se družio na večeri, koju je osuđeni seksualni predator organizirao u svom domu na Manhattanu 2015. godine. Chomsky je rekao da je s Epsteinom razgovarao o političkim i akademskim temama. Za WSJ je rekao da se nikoga ne tiče njegov odnos s Epsteinom, a potom je dodao da ga je poznavao i da su se povremeno sretali.
Leon Botstein, predsjednik američkog fakulteta Bard, pozvao je Epsteina na kampus. Botstein je izjavio da pokušavao pridobiti Epsteina da donira njegovom fakultetu.
Ariane de Rothschild, izvršna direktorica švicarske privatne banke Edmond de Rothschild Group, desetak se puta sastala s Epsteinom. Dokumenti pokazuju da je Epstein tražio njezinu pomoć oko zapošljavanja i opremanja. De Rothschild je također sklopila ugovor s Epsteinom vrijedan 25 milijuna dolara te je u Epsteinovo ime 2014. i 2015. kupila aukcijske predmete u vrijednosti od gotovo milijun dolara.
Velik broj optužbi
Epstein je 2006. javno optužen za seksualno zlostavljanje djevojčica na Floridi koje su tada imale samo 14 godina. Postigao je dogovor s tužiteljima 2008. godine. Izbjegao je federalne optužbe i priznao krivnju za navođenje i podvođenje maloljetnice na prostituciju. Registrirao se kao seksualni prijestupnik i odslužio je zatvorsku kaznu od oko 13 mjeseci.
Godine 2015. Virginia Giuffre javno je optužila Epsteina da ju je seksualno zlostavljao i podvodio dok je bila tinejdžerica te ju je tjerao na seks s utjecajnim ljudima, uključujući princa Andrewa. Princ Andrew je odbacio optužbe i prošle godine se nagodio s Giuffre.
Epsteinov slučaj izazvao je ogromnu medijsku pažnju u vrijeme kad je optužen. Objavljen je velik broj optužbi koje su iznijele mlade žene i maloljetne djevojke. Unatoč negativnim medijskim napisima, Epsteinovi dani bili su ispunjeni od jutra do mraka sastancima s uglednicima, pokazuju dokumenti u koje je WSJ imao uvid. Bilo je tu večera u njujorškim restoranima, sastanaka u luksuznim hotelima i druženja u uredima uglednih odvjetničkih društava. Mnogi sastanci održani su u Epsteinovoj kući na Manhattanu. Tužitelji su 2019. naveli da je kuća na Manhattanu mjesto gdje je Epstein godinama seksualno zlostavljao žene, mnoge maloljetne, te da je nekima od njih platio da vrbuju svoje prijateljice, piše Jutarnji list.

Gotovo četiri godine nakon samoubojstva osuđenog pedofila i američkog milijardera Jeffreya Epsteina nastavljaju se nizati skandali vezani uz njegovo ime, piše Jutarnji list.
Najnovija istraga The Wall Street Journala otkriva da se Epstein, nakon što je registriran kao seksualni prijestupnik, sastajao s aktualnim direktorom CIA-e Williamom Burnsom, savjetnicom Bijele kuće za vrijeme predsjednika Baracka Obame, Kathryn Ruemmler, direktoricom švicarske banke Ariane de Rothschild i američkim lingvistom Noamom Chomskym.
Prema Epsteinovom kalendaru sastanaka u koje je The Wall Street Journal imao uvid, Burns se tri puta sastao s Epsteinom, u vrijeme dok je bio zamjenik državnog tajnika i prije nego je postao direktor CIA-e. Prvo su se sreli u Washingtonu, a zatim je Burns posjetio Epsteinovu kuću na Manhattanu.
Glasnogovornica CIA-e Tammy Kupperman Thorp kaže da se Burns sastao s Epsteinom dok se spremao napustiti državnu službu te da nije znao ništa o milijarderu, osim da je stručnjak za sektor financijskih usluga.
‘Otok grijeha‘
Ruemmler se nekoliko desetaka puta sastala s Epsteinom nakon njezine službe u Bijeloj kući i prije nego što je 2020. postala odvjetnica Goldman Sachs Grupe. Dokumenti također pokazuju da se Ruemmler trebala 2015. pridružiti Epsteinu na putovanju u Pariz i da je 2017. posjetila njegov privatni ‘otok grijeha‘ na Karibima, gdje je on redovito dovodio maloljetne djevojke radi seksualnih igrica. Dokumenti pokazuju da je Epstein dobro poznavao neke od svojih gostiju. Primjerice, tražio je da Ruemmler uvijek dočekaju sushi rolice od avokada.
Jedan od najistaknutijih lingvista, filozofa i aktivista dvadesetoga stoljeća, Noam Chomsky, s Epsteinom se družio na večeri, koju je osuđeni seksualni predator organizirao u svom domu na Manhattanu 2015. godine. Chomsky je rekao da je s Epsteinom razgovarao o političkim i akademskim temama. Za WSJ je rekao da se nikoga ne tiče njegov odnos s Epsteinom, a potom je dodao da ga je poznavao i da su se povremeno sretali.
Leon Botstein, predsjednik američkog fakulteta Bard, pozvao je Epsteina na kampus. Botstein je izjavio da pokušavao pridobiti Epsteina da donira njegovom fakultetu.
Ariane de Rothschild, izvršna direktorica švicarske privatne banke Edmond de Rothschild Group, desetak se puta sastala s Epsteinom. Dokumenti pokazuju da je Epstein tražio njezinu pomoć oko zapošljavanja i opremanja. De Rothschild je također sklopila ugovor s Epsteinom vrijedan 25 milijuna dolara te je u Epsteinovo ime 2014. i 2015. kupila aukcijske predmete u vrijednosti od gotovo milijun dolara.
Velik broj optužbi
Epstein je 2006. javno optužen za seksualno zlostavljanje djevojčica na Floridi koje su tada imale samo 14 godina. Postigao je dogovor s tužiteljima 2008. godine. Izbjegao je federalne optužbe i priznao krivnju za navođenje i podvođenje maloljetnice na prostituciju. Registrirao se kao seksualni prijestupnik i odslužio je zatvorsku kaznu od oko 13 mjeseci.
Godine 2015. Virginia Giuffre javno je optužila Epsteina da ju je seksualno zlostavljao i podvodio dok je bila tinejdžerica te ju je tjerao na seks s utjecajnim ljudima, uključujući princa Andrewa. Princ Andrew je odbacio optužbe i prošle godine se nagodio s Giuffre.
Epsteinov slučaj izazvao je ogromnu medijsku pažnju u vrijeme kad je optužen. Objavljen je velik broj optužbi koje su iznijele mlade žene i maloljetne djevojke. Unatoč negativnim medijskim napisima, Epsteinovi dani bili su ispunjeni od jutra do mraka sastancima s uglednicima, pokazuju dokumenti u koje je WSJ imao uvid. Bilo je tu večera u njujorškim restoranima, sastanaka u luksuznim hotelima i druženja u uredima uglednih odvjetničkih društava. Mnogi sastanci održani su u Epsteinovoj kući na Manhattanu. Tužitelji su 2019. naveli da je kuća na Manhattanu mjesto gdje je Epstein godinama seksualno zlostavljao žene, mnoge maloljetne, te da je nekima od njih platio da vrbuju svoje prijateljice, piše Jutarnji list.
