Ulovili smo ovu ribu na području Blitvenice i kako sliči na nekoliko vrsta, ne znamo o kojoj je riječ, pa molimo za pomoć u identifikaciji.

Kada se govori o girama, većina ljudi pomisli na oblicu ili oštrulju, a malo bolji poznavatelji sjete se da girama, tj. obitelji Centracanthidae, pripada i tragalj (modrak). Samo rijetki znaju da je donedavno postojala i četvrta vrsta gira u Jadranu, a to je atlantska gira, lat. naziva Centracanthus cirrus, i upravo tu vrstu vidimo na vašoj slici.

Kada kažem da je postojala četvrta vrsta, to znači da više ne postoji, no nemojte misliti da je nestala iz Jadrana. Naime, problem je taksonomske prirode, jer su znanstvenici koji se bave sistematikom riba utvrdili da su karakteristike te gire ipak bliže karakteristikama obitelji ljuskavki, tj. Sparidae, pa su je smjestili u tu obitelj, čime su gire u Jadranu spale na tri vrste, a zubaci i komarče dobili još jednog srodnika.

Iako će neki na prvi pogled u atlantskoj giri vidjeti tipične karakteristike obitelji girovki, pa im neće biti jasna poveznica sa zubacima i komarčama, napominjem da u obitelj ljuskavki spada i bukva, koja je kao vrsta vrlo slična atlantskoj giri.

Kada bi gledali crno-bijele slike gire i bukve, mnogi bi vjerojatno pogriješili u prepoznavanju jer su oblikom vrlo slične, osim što na atlantskoj giri prevladavaju crvenkaste do ružičaste nijanse, koje prema trbušnom dijelu prelaze u sivkaste. Osim toga, tipične mrlje za girovke po sredini tijela, nema.

Moram kazati i da ovaj odgovor može za koju godinu postati netočan jer su brojni problemi vezani uz taksonomski status grupe girovki, uključujući i atlantsku giru.

Po nekim istraživanjima, ona ipak pripada obitelji girovki, dok je upitna razlika između gire oblice i traglja u smislu da su te dvije vrste zapravo jedna. Prema tome, valja očekivati nova istraživanja, a do tada ćemo se držati službenih podataka i atlantsku giru smještati među ljuskavke.

Bez obzira kojoj obitelji pripadala, atlantsku giru možemo naći u cijelom istočnom Atlantiku, uključujući Sredozemlje. Za razliku od srodnika, iako je najčešća u plitkim dijelovima mora, često se nađe i do 500 metara dubine, a nedavno je u Mramornome moru nađena na čak 1000 metara.

Najčešće se love primjerci od oko 12 centimetara, a može narasti najviše do 34 cm. Smatra se da joj je životni vijek do pet godina.

Ulovili smo ovu ribu na području Blitvenice i kako sliči na nekoliko vrsta, ne znamo o kojoj je riječ, pa molimo za pomoć u identifikaciji.

Kada se govori o girama, većina ljudi pomisli na oblicu ili oštrulju, a malo bolji poznavatelji sjete se da girama, tj. obitelji Centracanthidae, pripada i tragalj (modrak). Samo rijetki znaju da je donedavno postojala i četvrta vrsta gira u Jadranu, a to je atlantska gira, lat. naziva Centracanthus cirrus, i upravo tu vrstu vidimo na vašoj slici.

Kada kažem da je postojala četvrta vrsta, to znači da više ne postoji, no nemojte misliti da je nestala iz Jadrana. Naime, problem je taksonomske prirode, jer su znanstvenici koji se bave sistematikom riba utvrdili da su karakteristike te gire ipak bliže karakteristikama obitelji ljuskavki, tj. Sparidae, pa su je smjestili u tu obitelj, čime su gire u Jadranu spale na tri vrste, a zubaci i komarče dobili još jednog srodnika.

Iako će neki na prvi pogled u atlantskoj giri vidjeti tipične karakteristike obitelji girovki, pa im neće biti jasna poveznica sa zubacima i komarčama, napominjem da u obitelj ljuskavki spada i bukva, koja je kao vrsta vrlo slična atlantskoj giri.

Kada bi gledali crno-bijele slike gire i bukve, mnogi bi vjerojatno pogriješili u prepoznavanju jer su oblikom vrlo slične, osim što na atlantskoj giri prevladavaju crvenkaste do ružičaste nijanse, koje prema trbušnom dijelu prelaze u sivkaste. Osim toga, tipične mrlje za girovke po sredini tijela, nema.

Moram kazati i da ovaj odgovor može za koju godinu postati netočan jer su brojni problemi vezani uz taksonomski status grupe girovki, uključujući i atlantsku giru.

Po nekim istraživanjima, ona ipak pripada obitelji girovki, dok je upitna razlika između gire oblice i traglja u smislu da su te dvije vrste zapravo jedna. Prema tome, valja očekivati nova istraživanja, a do tada ćemo se držati službenih podataka i atlantsku giru smještati među ljuskavke.

Bez obzira kojoj obitelji pripadala, atlantsku giru možemo naći u cijelom istočnom Atlantiku, uključujući Sredozemlje. Za razliku od srodnika, iako je najčešća u plitkim dijelovima mora, često se nađe i do 500 metara dubine, a nedavno je u Mramornome moru nađena na čak 1000 metara.

Najčešće se love primjerci od oko 12 centimetara, a može narasti najviše do 34 cm. Smatra se da joj je životni vijek do pet godina.

Ulovili smo ovu ribu na području Blitvenice i kako sliči na nekoliko vrsta, ne znamo o kojoj je riječ, pa molimo za pomoć u identifikaciji.

Kada se govori o girama, većina ljudi pomisli na oblicu ili oštrulju, a malo bolji poznavatelji sjete se da girama, tj. obitelji Centracanthidae, pripada i tragalj (modrak). Samo rijetki znaju da je donedavno postojala i četvrta vrsta gira u Jadranu, a to je atlantska gira, lat. naziva Centracanthus cirrus, i upravo tu vrstu vidimo na vašoj slici.

Kada kažem da je postojala četvrta vrsta, to znači da više ne postoji, no nemojte misliti da je nestala iz Jadrana. Naime, problem je taksonomske prirode, jer su znanstvenici koji se bave sistematikom riba utvrdili da su karakteristike te gire ipak bliže karakteristi...
