Iako je o koronavirusu objavljeno više znanstvenih radova nego o bilo kojoj drugoj bolesti u svijetu, i dalje neprestano izviru nova otkrića koja potvrđuju da i dalje ne znamo dovoljno o širenju ove zarazne bolesti.

Da bi se smanjio prijenos SARS-CoV-2, važno je identificirati one koji su zarazni. Međutim, malo se zna o tome koliki je udio zaraženih ljudi asimptomatski i potencijalni su "tihi" prijenosnici. 

U novom istraživanju objavljenom u časopisu Clinical Epidemiology znanstvenici su utvrdili kako čak 90 posto osoba s pozitivnim testom na Covid-19 nije imalo ni jedan od tri glavna simptoma bolesti na dan kada su testirani. Nakon što su analizirali podatke 36.000 dobrovoljaca kojima je izvršen bris između travnja i lipnja liječnici su utvrdili da je samo 16 od 115 ljudi kojima je test bio pozitivan imalo vrućicu, kašalj ili su izgubili okus ili miris. A upravo se ta tri simptoma smatraju glavnim pokazateljima da ste možda zaraženi koronavirusom.

Kad su umor i otežano disanje dodani na popis osnovnih simptoma, samo 23 posto ispitanih imalo je tih, kad pridodamo, pet osnovnih simptoma na dan uzimanja brisa. Mnogi su imali samo jedan od navedenih simptoma.

Sustav u kojem se ljudi testiraju samo ako imaju simptome, možda propušta na tisuće asimptomatskih prijenosa infekcija, navode stručnjaci koji su proveli istraživanje. Također smatraju kako njihova studija potvrđuje kako je potrebno šire testiranje od dosadašnjeg kako bi se na zimu spriječila eksplozija infekcija.

Epidemiologinja prof. Irene Peterson (University College London) koja je vodila istraživanje, objašnjava kako bi prije odlaska na božićne i novogodišnje blagdane trebalo testirati studente koji prate predavanja u sveučilišnim dvoranama.

„Činjenica da je toliko mnogo ljudi koji su pozitivno testirani bilo bez simptoma bolesti na dan pozitivnog rezultata testa zahtijeva promjenu budućih strategija testiranja. Budući programi ispitivanja trebali bi uključivati ​​često testiranje šire skupine, a ne samo simptomatske slučajeve, posebno u visoko rizičnim okruženjima ili mjestima na kojima mnogi ljudi rade ili žive zajedno, poput tvornica ili fakulteta i studentskih domova – smatra liječnica.

Akademska zajednica je podijeljena oko toga postoji li vjerojatnost, odnosno u kojoj je mjeri moguće da asimptomatski slučajevi šire virus kao oni sa simptomima. I kod asimptomatski oboljelih osoba od COVID-19, naime, naknadni serološki test pokazuje da je imunosni sustav razvio protutijela.

Epidemiolog prof. dr. Branko Kolarić, član Vladina znanstvenog vijeća, objasnio je kako se sve osobe kod kojih je pronađen virus smatraju zaraženima, bez obzira jesu li razvile simptome bolesti ili nisu.

Oni koji nisu razvili simptome smatraju se manje zaraznima, ali nipošto se ne može isključiti da nisu daljnji širitelji virusa.

– Sve osobe koje imaju virus u sebi zovemo zaraženima. Neke imaju simptome bolesti kao što su temperatura, kašalj, gubitak okusa i mirisa ili glavobolja, dok drugi nemaju te simptome i zato ih nazivamo asimptomatskim slučajevima. Oni su manje zarazni za druge jer u sebi imaju manje virusa nego oni koji su razvili simptome pa kišu i virus dalje šire. Međutim, i oni virus mogu izlučivati desetak dana i upravo zato mi testiramo kontakte oboljelih ili ih stavljamo u samoizolaciju. Iako su bez simptoma, mogu zaraziti druge koji možda neće reagirati tako blago i asimptomatski kao oni – kaže epidemiolog Branko Kolarić.

Iako se svaka bolest definira s prisutnošću simptoma, to je uvijek upitno sa zaraznim bolestima. HIV je, primjerice, zarazna bolest kod koje se može nositi deset godina virus, da nemate simptome, a cijelo vrijeme ste zarazni za druge.

Prethodne studije o  Covidu sugerirale su da je gotovo polovica svih infekcija koronavirusom asimptomatska. Kad su znanstvenici testirali svih 3.200 ljudi u talijanskom mjestu Vo', blizu Venecije, tijekom velikog izbijanja Covida-19 u ožujku, utvrdili su da je 42,5 posto svih infekcija bilo bez simptoma. Zasebna studija na Islandu pak otkrila je da je 43 od 100 ljudi koji su na otoku imali pozitivne testove bilo bez ijednog simptoma.

Iako je o koronavirusu objavljeno više znanstvenih radova nego o bilo kojoj drugoj bolesti u svijetu, i dalje neprestano izviru nova otkrića koja potvrđuju da i dalje ne znamo dovoljno o širenju ove zarazne bolesti.

Da bi se smanjio prijenos SARS-CoV-2, važno je identificirati one koji su zarazni. Međutim, malo se zna o tome koliki je udio zaraženih ljudi asimptomatski i potencijalni su "tihi" prijenosnici. 

U novom istraživanju objavljenom u časopisu Clinical Epidemiology znanstvenici su utvrdili kako čak 90 posto osoba s pozitivnim testom na Covid-19 nije imalo ni jedan od tri glavna simptoma bolesti na dan kada su testirani. Nakon što su analizirali podatke 36.000 dobrovoljaca kojima je izvršen bris između travnja i lipnja liječnici su utvrdili da je samo 16 od 115 ljudi kojima je test bio pozitivan imalo vrućicu, kašalj ili su izgubili okus ili miris. A upravo se ta tri simptoma smatraju glavnim pokazateljima da ste možda zaraženi koronavirusom.

Kad su umor i otežano disanje dodani na popis osnovnih simptoma, samo 23 posto ispitanih imalo je tih, kad pridodamo, pet osnovnih simptoma na dan uzimanja brisa. Mnogi su imali samo jedan od navedenih simptoma.

Sustav u kojem se ljudi testiraju samo ako imaju simptome, možda propušta na tisuće asimptomatskih prijenosa infekcija, navode stručnjaci koji su proveli istraživanje. Također smatraju kako njihova studija potvrđuje kako je potrebno šire testiranje od dosadašnjeg kako bi se na zimu spriječila eksplozija infekcija.

Epidemiologinja prof. Irene Peterson (University College London) koja je vodila istraživanje, objašnjava kako bi prije odlaska na božićne i novogodišnje blagdane trebalo testirati studente koji prate predavanja u sveučilišnim dvoranama.

„Činjenica da je toliko mnogo ljudi koji su pozitivno testirani bilo bez simptoma bolesti na dan pozitivnog rezultata testa zahtijeva promjenu budućih strategija testiranja. Budući programi ispitivanja trebali bi uključivati ​​često testiranje šire skupine, a ne samo simptomatske slučajeve, posebno u visoko rizičnim okruženjima ili mjestima na kojima mnogi ljudi rade ili žive zajedno, poput tvornica ili fakulteta i studentskih domova – smatra liječnica.

Akademska zajednica je podijeljena oko toga postoji li vjerojatnost, odnosno u kojoj je mjeri moguće da asimptomatski slučajevi šire virus kao oni sa simptomima. I kod asimptomatski oboljelih osoba od COVID-19, naime, naknadni serološki test pokazuje da je imunosni sustav razvio protutijela.

Epidemiolog prof. dr. Branko Kolarić, član Vladina znanstvenog vijeća, objasnio je kako se sve osobe kod kojih je pronađen virus smatraju zaraženima, bez obzira jesu li razvile simptome bolesti ili nisu.

Oni koji nisu razvili simptome smatraju se manje zaraznima, ali nipošto se ne može isključiti da nisu daljnji širitelji virusa.

– Sve osobe koje imaju virus u sebi zovemo zaraženima. Neke imaju simptome bolesti kao što su temperatura, kašalj, gubitak okusa i mirisa ili glavobolja, dok drugi nemaju te simptome i zato ih nazivamo asimptomatskim slučajevima. Oni su manje zarazni za druge jer u sebi imaju manje virusa nego oni koji su razvili simptome pa kišu i virus dalje šire. Međutim, i oni virus mogu izlučivati desetak dana i upravo zato mi testiramo kontakte oboljelih ili ih stavljamo u samoizolaciju. Iako su bez simptoma, mogu zaraziti druge koji možda neće reagirati tako blago i asimptomatski kao oni – kaže epidemiolog Branko Kolarić.

Iako se svaka bolest definira s prisutnošću simptoma, to je uvijek upitno sa zaraznim bolestima. HIV je, primjerice, zarazna bolest kod koje se može nositi deset godina virus, da nemate simptome, a cijelo vrijeme ste zarazni za druge.

Prethodne studije o  Covidu sugerirale su da je gotovo polovica svih infekcija koronavirusom asimptomatska. Kad su znanstvenici testirali svih 3.200 ljudi u talijanskom mjestu Vo', blizu Venecije, tijekom velikog izbijanja Covida-19 u ožujku, utvrdili su da je 42,5 posto svih infekcija bilo bez simptoma. Zasebna studija na Islandu pak otkrila je da je 43 od 100 ljudi koji su na otoku imali pozitivne testove bilo bez ijednog simptoma.
