Najveći štrajk željeznica u posljednjih 30 godina u Velikoj Britaniji počeo je u utorak kada su deseci tisuća radnika napustili radna mjesta zbog spora oko plaća, uvjeta rada i radnih mjesta.
Ovaj bi štrajk mogao biti početak daljnjih akcija u industriji, ali i cjelokupnom gospodarstvu u narednim mjesecima.
Štrajk je započeo rano ujutro, a očekuje se da će u njemu sudjelovati više od 40.000 radnika koji bi, kako je najavljeno, trebali štrajkati u utorak, četvrtak i subotu, što će dovesti do zastoja željezničke mreže.
Zbog štrajka je zatvorena i londonska podzemna željeznica.
Premijer Boris Johnson, koji je pod pritiskom da učini što više kako bi pomogao građanima u suočavanju s najtežom gospodarskom krizom posljednjih desetljeća, rekao je da će industrijska akcija dodatno usporiti opravak poduzeća od krize uzrokovane pandemijom.
Sindikati su najavili da bi štrajkovi željezničara mogli označiti početak “ljeta nezadovoljstva” kojem će se pridružiti i nastavnici, medicinari, komunalni radnici, pa čak odvjetnici koji se uključuju u industrijske akcije. Sve to događa se u svjetlu velikih poskupljenja hrane i goriva koja guraju inflaciju prema stopi od 10%.
“Naša će kampanja trajati koliko god to bude potrebno”, rekao je glavni tajnik sindikata radnika u željezničkom, pomorskom i transportnom prometu RMT Mick Lynch u ponedjeljak novinarima, kako prenosi Reuters.
Premijer Johnson pak proziva sindikate da štete ljudima za koje su tvrdili da im pomažu.
“Time što nastavljaju ovaj štrajk, željezničari tjeraju putnike, ljude koji se voze na posao, koji u konačnici podržavaju poslove željezničkih radnika, a utječu i na tvrtke i društvene zajednice diljem zemlje”, reći će Johnson svom kabinetu kasnije u utorak, priopćio je njegov ured.
Tisuće ljudi sudjelovale su u prosvjedu koji se održao u subotu u središtu Londona u organizaciji sindikata.
Štrajkovi se održavaju u vrijeme dok se putnici u britanskim zračnim lukama suočavaju s kaosom zbog kašnjenja i otkazivanja letova u posljednjem trenutku uslijed nedostatka osoblja, a mnogi Britanci moraju mjesecima čekati na nove putovnice zbog kašnjenja u obradi.
Iako je britansko gospodarstvo u početku pokazivalo snažan oporavak od pandemijske krize, kombinacija nedostatka radne snage, poremećaja u lancima opskrbe, inflacije i trgovinskih problema nakon Brexita dovela je do rizika od recesije.

Najveći štrajk željeznica u posljednjih 30 godina u Velikoj Britaniji počeo je u utorak kada su deseci tisuća radnika napustili radna mjesta zbog spora oko plaća, uvjeta rada i radnih mjesta.
Ovaj bi štrajk mogao biti početak daljnjih akcija u industriji, ali i cjelokupnom gospodarstvu u narednim mjesecima.
Štrajk je započeo rano ujutro, a očekuje se da će u njemu sudjelovati više od 40.000 radnika koji bi, kako je najavljeno, trebali štrajkati u utorak, četvrtak i subotu, što će dovesti do zastoja željezničke mreže.
Zbog štrajka je zatvorena i londonska podzemna željeznica.
Premijer Boris Johnson, koji je pod pritiskom da učini što više kako bi pomogao građanima u suočavanju s najtežom gospodarskom krizom posljednjih desetljeća, rekao je da će industrijska akcija dodatno usporiti opravak poduzeća od krize uzrokovane pandemijom.
Sindikati su najavili da bi štrajkovi željezničara mogli označiti početak “ljeta nezadovoljstva” kojem će se pridružiti i nastavnici, medicinari, komunalni radnici, pa čak odvjetnici koji se uključuju u industrijske akcije. Sve to događa se u svjetlu velikih poskupljenja hrane i goriva koja guraju inflaciju prema stopi od 10%.
“Naša će kampanja trajati koliko god to bude potrebno”, rekao je glavni tajnik sindikata radnika u željezničkom, pomorskom i transportnom prometu RMT Mick Lynch u ponedjeljak novinarima, kako prenosi Reuters.
Premijer Johnson pak proziva sindikate da štete ljudima za koje su tvrdili da im pomažu.
“Time što nastavljaju ovaj štrajk, željezničari tjeraju putnike, ljude koji se voze na posao, koji u konačnici podržavaju poslove željezničkih radnika, a utječu i na tvrtke i društvene zajednice diljem zemlje”, reći će Johnson svom kabinetu kasnije u utorak, priopćio je njegov ured.
Tisuće ljudi sudjelovale su u prosvjedu koji se održao u subotu u središtu Londona u organizaciji sindikata.
Štrajkovi se održavaju u vrijeme dok se putnici u britanskim zračnim lukama suočavaju s kaosom zbog kašnjenja i otkazivanja letova u posljednjem trenutku uslijed nedostatka osoblja, a mnogi Britanci moraju mjesecima čekati na nove putovnice zbog kašnjenja u obradi.
Iako je britansko gospodarstvo u početku pokazivalo snažan oporavak od pandemijske krize, kombinacija nedostatka radne snage, poremećaja u lancima opskrbe, inflacije i trgovinskih problema nakon Brexita dovela je do rizika od recesije.
