William Lai Ching-te novi je predsjednik Tajvana, nakon što su suparničke stranke u danas održanim izborima priznale poraz. Biračka mjesta zatvorena su danas ujutro po hrvatskom vremenu i nakon nekoliko sati prebrojavanja glasova postalo je jasno da je Lai, dosadašnji potpredsjednik i pripadnik vladajuće Demokratske progresivne stranke (DPP), prikupio najviše glasova birača, javlja Jutarnji.hr.

Nakon prebrojavanja više od 90 posto glasova, pokazalo se da je predstavnik DPP-a postao prvi predsjednički kandidat koji je osvojio najmanje pet milijuna glasova (u zemji sa 23 milijuna stanovnika).

William Lai na izborima je pobijedio protukandidate - Hou Yu-iha iz najveće oporbene stranke Kuomintang (KMT) te bivšega gradonačelnika glavnoga grada Taipeija Ko Wen-jeoa iz Tajvanske narodne stranke (TPP).

Lai je istaknuti zagovornik tajvanske samouprave i neovisnosti. On je ujedno bio i vodeći kandidat u predizbornom procesu. Prema izjavama iz kampanje, Lai ne planira promijeniti službeni naziv zemlje, koji glasi Republika Kina, te da Tajvan nije podređen Narodnoj Republici Kini.

Peking stoga nije baš poseban ljubitelj Laijevih politika, posebno zbog toga što sebe proglašava "radnikom za neovisnost Tajvana". To je naravno glavna točka prijepora zbog koje neprestano kuljaju napetosti i zbog kojih se strahuje od otvorenog ratnog sukoba, odnosno kineske invazije na otok.

Uoči samih izbora ponovno su ga proglasili "opasnim separatistom" i "troublemakerom" te odbili njegove pozive na dijalog. Lai je na to poručio da je predan jačanju obrane otoka, ali i očuvanju mira.

"Moramo se pridržavati istine da je Tajvan suverena, neovisna država koja se zove Republika Kina. Nije dio Narodne Republike Kine i samo narod Tajvana može odlučivati o njezinoj budućnosti", rekao je u intervjuu za novinsku agencija Bloomberg, prenosi Hina.

Dodao je da Republika Kina i Narodna Republika Kina nisu podređene jedna drugoj. Gledano iz zapadnjačke perspektive, Laijeva pobjeda predstavlja nastavak politike koju je posljednjih osam godina iz fotelje predsjednice vodila njegova stranačka kolegica Tsai Ing-wen. Štoviše, od Laija se očekuje još tvrđi stav prema komunističkoj Kini, što kod mnogih analitičara izaziva strah od još brže i snažnije eskalacije napetosti.

Njegovi zagovornici upozoravaju da bi prava opasnost bila došla tek s pobjedom Kuomintanga, jer da bi u tom slučaju na stol došla priča o ujedinjenju s NR Kinom. Tajvan zauzima iznimno važno mjesto u globalnom poretku i ekonomiji. Riječ je o zemlji koja zauzima centralnu poziciju u američkoj strategiji prema Indopacifiku, posebice prema NR Kini, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Industrija poluvodiča na Tajvanu daleko je najnaprednija na svijetu i ako bi bila ugrožena, suspendirana ili čak samo usporena, svjetska ponuda računala, telefona, automobila - zapravo svega što su sebi sadrži napredne čipove - polagano bi počela presušivati.

William Lai Ching-te novi je predsjednik Tajvana, nakon što su suparničke stranke u danas održanim izborima priznale poraz. Biračka mjesta zatvorena su danas ujutro po hrvatskom vremenu i nakon nekoliko sati prebrojavanja glasova postalo je jasno da je Lai, dosadašnji potpredsjednik i pripadnik vladajuće Demokratske progresivne stranke (DPP), prikupio najviše glasova birača, javlja Jutarnji.hr.

Nakon prebrojavanja više od 90 posto glasova, pokazalo se da je predstavnik DPP-a postao prvi predsjednički kandidat koji je osvojio najmanje pet milijuna glasova (u zemji sa 23 milijuna stanovnika).

William Lai na izborima je pobijedio protukandidate - Hou Yu-iha iz najveće oporbene stranke Kuomintang (KMT) te bivšega gradonačelnika glavnoga grada Taipeija Ko Wen-jeoa iz Tajvanske narodne stranke (TPP).

Lai je istaknuti zagovornik tajvanske samouprave i neovisnosti. On je ujedno bio i vodeći kandidat u predizbornom procesu. Prema izjavama iz kampanje, Lai ne planira promijeniti službeni naziv zemlje, koji glasi Republika Kina, te da Tajvan nije podređen Narodnoj Republici Kini.

Peking stoga nije baš poseban ljubitelj Laijevih politika, posebno zbog toga što sebe proglašava "radnikom za neovisnost Tajvana". To je naravno glavna točka prijepora zbog koje neprestano kuljaju napetosti i zbog kojih se strahuje od otvorenog ratnog sukoba, odnosno kineske invazije na otok.

Uoči samih izbora ponovno su ga proglasili "opasnim separatistom" i "troublemakerom" te odbili njegove pozive na dijalog. Lai je na to poručio da je predan jačanju obrane otoka, ali i očuvanju mira.

Dodao je da Republika Kina i Narodna Republika Kina nisu podređene jedna drugoj. Gledano iz zapadnjačke perspektive, Laijeva pobjeda predstavlja nastavak politike koju je posljednjih osam godina iz fotelje predsjednice vodila njegova stranačka kolegica Tsai Ing-wen. Štoviše, od Laija se očekuje još tvrđi stav prema komunističkoj Kini, što kod mnogih analitičara izaziva strah od još brže i snažnije eskalacije napetosti.

Njegovi zagovornici upozoravaju da bi prava opasnost bila došla tek s pobjedom Kuomintanga, jer da bi u tom slučaju na stol došla priča o ujedinjenju s NR Kinom. Tajvan zauzima iznimno važno mjesto u globalnom poretku i ekonomiji. Riječ je o zemlji koja zauzima centralnu poziciju u američkoj strategiji prema Indopacifiku, posebice prema NR Kini, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Industrija poluvodiča na Tajvanu daleko je najnaprednija na svijetu i ako bi bila ugrožena, suspendirana ili čak samo usporena, svjetska ponuda računala, telefona, automobila - zapravo svega što su sebi sadrži napredne čipove - polagano bi počela presušivati.

Tajvan izabrao novog predsjednika, Peking nije ljubitelj Laijevih politika: Odabrali ste rat!

William Lai Ching-te novi je predsjednik Tajvana, nakon što su suparničke stranke u danas održanim izborima priznale poraz. Biračka mjesta zatvorena su danas ujutro po hrvatskom vremenu i nakon nekoliko sati prebrojavanja glasova postalo je jasno da je Lai, dosadašnji potpredsjednik i pripadnik vladajuće Demokratske progresivne stranke (DPP), prikupio najviše glasova birača, javlja Jutarnji.hr.

Nakon prebrojavanja više od 90 posto glasova, pokazalo se da je predstavnik DPP-a postao prvi predsjednički kandidat koji je osvojio najmanje pet milijuna glasova (u zemji sa 23 milijuna stanovnika).

William Lai na izborima je pobijedio protukandidate - Hou Yu-iha iz najveće oporbene stranke Kuomintang (KMT) te bivšega gradonačelnika glavnoga grada Taipeija Ko Wen-jeoa iz Tajvanske narodne stranke (TPP).

Lai je istaknuti zagovornik tajvanske samouprave i neovisnosti. On je ujedno bio i vodeći kandidat u predizbornom procesu. Prema izjavama iz kampanje, Lai ne planira promijeniti službeni naziv zemlje, koji glasi Republika Kina, te da Tajvan nije podređen Narodnoj Republici Kini.

Peking stoga nije baš poseban ljubitelj Laijevih politika, posebno zbog toga što sebe proglašava "radnikom za neovisnost Tajvana". To je naravno glavna točka prijepora zbog koje neprestano kuljaju napetosti i zbog kojih se strahuje od otvorenog ratnog sukoba, odnosno kineske invazije na otok.

Uoči samih izbora ponovno su ga proglasili "opasnim separatistom" i "troublemakerom" te odbili njegove pozive na dijalog. Lai je na to poručio da je predan jačanju obrane otoka, ali i očuvanju mira.
