Svijetu je potreban nov pristup u sprečavanju budućih pandemija koje mogu ubiti dodatne milijune ljudi, stoji u izvješću Međuvladine znanstveno-političke platforme o bioraznolikosti i uslugama ekosustava (IPBES).
U njemu se navodi da se kontakti između ljudi, divljih životinja i domaćih životinja moraju smanjiti kako bi se smanjio i rizik od prijelaza bakterija i virusa sa životinja na ljude, a svima onima koji žive blizu životinja i u područjima visokog rizika morala bi se pružati redovita zdravstvena zaštita.
Na taj će se način pomoći u sprečavanju izbijanja epidemija bolesti prije nego što one dobiju priliku još više se proširiti.
Autori izvješća upozoravaju da je potrebno zauzeti zajednički pristup kako bi prevencija pandemija postala uobičajena širom svijeta.
Višestruko je jeftinije epidemije spriječiti nego trpjeti njihove strašne posljedice, tvrde autori izvješća u kojemu se ljudi pozivaju da prestanu zadirati u divlje teritorije i da konzumiraju manje mesa, s obzirom na to da mesna industrija potiče kontakt između ljudi i novih patogena.
U izvješću se ističe da vlade moraju međusobno surađivati kako bi se izbjegle buduće pandemije te da moraju brzo raditi na obuzdavanju širenja epidemija.
Također se upozorava da će, bez postojanja koordiniranog globalnog plana u budućim pandemijama umrijeti još više ljudi jer će one biti opasnije od covida-19.
Dokument je sastavila organizacija koju su osnovali Ujedinjeni narodi, a djeluje pod nazivom Međuvladina znanstveno-politička platforma o bioraznolikosti i uslugama ekosustava (IPBES). Zadaća joj je štititi svijet prirode na korist ljudi.
U izvješću se ističe i da bi aktualna pandemija do idućeg ljeta svjetsku ekonomiju mogla stajati 16 bilijuna dolara. No uz preventivne mjere, poput zabrane trgovine divljim životinjama, proces bi godišnje stajao između 22 milijarde i 31 milijardu dolara.
To jest velika svota, no riječ je samo o djeliću ukupnih troškova namijenjenih borbi s pandemijom poput covida-19.
Autori tvrde da se rizik od pandemija rapidno povećava, jer se svake godine pojavi više od pet novih bolesti.
U izvješću se upozorava da 70 posto novih bolesti, poput ebole i zike te gotovo svi poznati patogeni s pandemijskim potencijalom, poput gripe, HIV-a i novog koronavirusa, potječe od životinja.
Te se bolesti na neki način 'prelijevaju', odnosno preskaču s jedne vrste na drugu tijekom kontakta između divljih životinja, domaćih životinja i ljudi.
Procjenjuje se da sisavci i ptice u sebi nose više od milijun neotkrivenih virusa.
Zato se preporučuje:
- osnivanje stručnog odbora za prevenciju pandemije, po uzoru na svjetski odbor za klimatske promjene
- donošenje međunarodnog sporazuma o pripravnosti, jačanju prevencije i kontroli izbijanja epidemija
uspostavljanje zajedničkih standarda procjene projekata o korištenju većih zemljišta koji bi ljude mogli izložiti životinjskim virusima
U dokumentu stoji: "Pandemije su sve češće. Bez preventivnih strategija, one će se pojavljivati još češće, širit će se brže, ubijat će više ljudi i utjecati na globalnu ekonomiju s razornijim posljedicama."
Autori su upozorili na ishodišta, pokretače pandemije, a među njima su širenje poljoprivrednih zemljišta, trgovina divljim životinjama, njihova konzumacija i globalna brza putovanja s jednog kraja svijeta na drugi.
Preporuka o smanjenoj konzumaciji uzgojenog i mesa divljih životinja, osobito u žarištima novih bolesti, mogla bi naići na otpor država poput Brazila jer stočarstvo i proizvodnja mesa puno znače za ekonomiju ove južnoameričke zemlje.
No i ostala izvješća ukazuju na to da bi smanjena konzumacija mesa mogla zaštititi divlje životinje, unaprijediti zdravlje ljudi te pridonijeti uspjehu u borbi protiv klimatskih promjena.
Autori tvrde da na pojavu novih bolesti utječe globalno zatopljenje, a kao primjer navode encefalitis koji potječe od krpelja.
Golema cijena koja se u vrijeme pandemije covida- 19 plaća u ljudskim životima te utječe na socijalna i ekonomska kretanja nužan su razlog za globalno djelovanje.
"Velik je bonus to što bi ovakvo djelovanje moglo pridonijeti rješavanju klimatskih promjena tako što će se očuvati prirodna staništa", smatra prof. Matthew Baylis s Liverpulskog sveučilišta koji nije sudjlovao u izradi izvješća.

Svijetu je potreban nov pristup u sprečavanju budućih pandemija koje mogu ubiti dodatne milijune ljudi, stoji u izvješću Međuvladine znanstveno-političke platforme o bioraznolikosti i uslugama ekosustava (IPBES).
U njemu se navodi da se kontakti između ljudi, divljih životinja i domaćih životinja moraju smanjiti kako bi se smanjio i rizik od prijelaza bakterija i virusa sa životinja na ljude, a svima onima koji žive blizu životinja i u područjima visokog rizika morala bi se pružati redovita zdravstvena zaštita.
Na taj će se način pomoći u sprečavanju izbijanja epidemija bolesti prije nego što one dobiju priliku još više se proširiti.
Autori izvješća upozoravaju da je potrebno zauzeti zajednički pristup kako bi prevencija pandemija postala uobičajena širom svijeta.
Višestruko je jeftinije epidemije spriječiti nego trpjeti njihove strašne posljedice, tvrde autori izvješća u kojemu se ljudi pozivaju da prestanu zadirati u divlje teritorije i da konzumiraju manje mesa, s obzirom na to da mesna industrija potiče kontakt između ljudi i novih patogena.
U izvješću se ističe da vlade moraju međusobno surađivati kako bi se izbjegle buduće pandemije te da moraju brzo raditi na obuzdavanju širenja epidemija.
Također se upozorava da će, bez postojanja koordiniranog globalnog plana u budućim pandemijama umrijeti još više ljudi jer će one biti opasnije od covida-19.
Dokument je sastavila organizacija koju su osnovali Ujedinjeni narodi, a djeluje pod nazivom Međuvladina znanstveno-politička platforma o bioraznolikosti i uslugama ekosustava (IPBES). Zadaća joj je štititi svijet prirode na korist ljudi.
U izvješću se ističe i da bi aktualna pandemija do idućeg ljeta svjetsku ekonomiju mogla stajati 16 bilijuna dolara. No uz preventivne mjere, poput zabrane trgovine divljim životinjama, proces bi godišnje stajao između 22 milijarde i 31 milijardu dolara.
To jest velika svota, no riječ je samo o djeliću ukupnih troškova namijenjenih borbi s pandemijom poput covida-19.
Autori tvrde da se rizik od pandemija rapidno povećava, jer se svake godine pojavi više od pet novih bolesti.
U izvješću se upozorava da 70 posto novih bolesti, poput ebole i zike te gotovo svi poznati patogeni s pandemijskim potencijalom, poput gripe, HIV-a i novog koronavirusa, potječe od životinja.
Te se bolesti na neki način 'prelijevaju', odnosno preskaču s jedne vrste na drugu tijekom kontakta između divljih životinja, domaćih životinja i ljudi.
Procjenjuje se da sisavci i ptice u sebi nose više od milijun neotkrivenih virusa.
Zato se preporučuje:
- osnivanje stručnog odbora za prevenciju pandemije, po uzoru na svjetski odbor za klimatske promjene
- donošenje međunarodnog sporazuma o pripravnosti, jačanju prevencije i kontroli izbijanja epidemija
uspostavljanje zajedničkih standarda procjene projekata o korištenju većih zemljišta koji bi ljude mogli izložiti životinjskim virusima
U dokumentu stoji: "Pandemije su sve češće. Bez preventivnih strategija, one će se pojavljivati još češće, širit će se brže, ubijat će više ljudi i utjecati na globalnu ekonomiju s razornijim posljedicama."
Autori su upozorili na ishodišta, pokretače pandemije, a među njima su širenje poljoprivrednih zemljišta, trgovina divljim životinjama, njihova konzumacija i globalna brza putovanja s jednog kraja svijeta na drugi.
Preporuka o smanjenoj konzumaciji uzgojenog i mesa divljih životinja, osobito u žarištima novih bolesti, mogla bi naići na otpor država poput Brazila jer stočarstvo i proizvodnja mesa puno znače za ekonomiju ove južnoameričke zemlje.
No i ostala izvješća ukazuju na to da bi smanjena konzumacija mesa mogla zaštititi divlje životinje, unaprijediti zdravlje ljudi te pridonijeti uspjehu u borbi protiv klimatskih promjena.
Autori tvrde da na pojavu novih bolesti utječe globalno zatopljenje, a kao primjer navode encefalitis koji potječe od krpelja.
Golema cijena koja se u vrijeme pandemije covida- 19 plaća u ljudskim životima te utječe na socijalna i ekonomska kretanja nužan su razlog za globalno djelovanje.
"Velik je bonus to što bi ovakvo djelovanje moglo pridonijeti rješavanju klimatskih promjena tako što će se očuvati prirodna staništa", smatra prof. Matthew Baylis s Liverpulskog sveučilišta koji nije sudjlovao u izradi izvješća.
