Armenija i Azerbajdžan u ponedjeljak su se međusobno optužili za napade na civilna područja, dok traje deveti dan borbi, najsmrtonosnijih u južnokavkaskoj regiji u više od 25 godina.

Stotine ljudi ubijene su u najnovijem izbijanju rata zbog Nagorno-Karabaha, planinske enklave koja pripada Azerbajdžanu po međunarodnom pravu, ali je naseljena i pod vlašću je etničkih Armenaca.

Borbe su se pojačale tijekom vikenda, a izgledi za prekid vatre čine se sve dalji nakon beskompromisnog govora azerbajdžanskog predsjednika Ilhama Alijeva u nedjelju.

U televizijskom obraćanju naciji, Alijev je rekao da su azerbajdžanske snage napredovale i ponovno preuzele područja koja su izgubila od etničkih Armenaca 1990-ih - premda je Armenija osporila njihove dobitke.

On je zahtijevao da Armenija odredi vremenski okvir za povlačenje iz Nagorno-Karabaha i okolnih azerbajdžanskih teritorija te kazao da Azerbajdžan neće obustaviti vojne akciju dok se to ne dogodi.

"Azerbajdžan ima jedan uvjet, a to je da se oslobodi naš teritorij", rekao je. "Nagorno-Karabah je teritorij Azerbajdžana".

Govoreći odmah nakon, dužnosnik armenskog ministarstva obrane Artsrun Hovhannisyan rekao je: "Ne mislim da postoji bilo kakav rizik za Erevan (armenski glavni grad), ali u svakom slučaju mi smo u ratu".

Borbe su izazvale međunarodnu zabrinutost za stabilnost u južnom Kavkazu kroz koji cjevovodi prenose naftu i plin za svjetska tržišta te zbog mogućnosti da bi u sukob mogle biti uključene druge regionalne svjetske sile - Azerbajdžan podržava Turska, a Armenija ima obrambeni savez s Rusijom.

U ponedjeljak su vlasti Nagorno-Karabaha rekle da su azerbajdžanske snage izvele raketne napade na njihov administrativni centar Stepanakert, dok je Azerbajdžan rekao da je Armenija ispalila projektile na nekoliko gradova izvan odcijepljene regije.

Azerbajdžan je objavio da je Armenija izvela raketne napade na gusto naseljena područja i civilne infrastrukture u Azerbajdžanu, a  dužnosnik armenskog ministarstva obrane Hovhannisyan opovrgnuo je da su armenske snage napale azerbajdžanska uporišta.

Da izbije totalni rat između dviju bivših sovjetskih republika, Azerbajdžan bi imao jasnu prednost. Ima 81.950 pripadnika regularne vojske i paravojnih snaga, u usporedbi s 49.100 koliko ima Armenija, prema Međunarodnom institutu za strateška istraživanja (IISS).

Pozivi Rusije, Francuske, SAD-a i Europske unije da se prekine vatra nisu urodili plodom.

Armenija i Azerbajdžan u ponedjeljak su se međusobno optužili za napade na civilna područja, dok traje deveti dan borbi, najsmrtonosnijih u južnokavkaskoj regiji u više od 25 godina.

Stotine ljudi ubijene su u najnovijem izbijanju rata zbog Nagorno-Karabaha, planinske enklave koja pripada Azerbajdžanu po međunarodnom pravu, ali je naseljena i pod vlašću je etničkih Armenaca.

Borbe su se pojačale tijekom vikenda, a izgledi za prekid vatre čine se sve dalji nakon beskompromisnog govora azerbajdžanskog predsjednika Ilhama Alijeva u nedjelju.

U televizijskom obraćanju naciji, Alijev je rekao da su azerbajdžanske snage napredovale i ponovno preuzele područja koja su izgubila od etničkih Armenaca 1990-ih - premda je Armenija osporila njihove dobitke.

On je zahtijevao da Armenija odredi vremenski okvir za povlačenje iz Nagorno-Karabaha i okolnih azerbajdžanskih teritorija te kazao da Azerbajdžan neće obustaviti vojne akciju dok se to ne dogodi.

"Azerbajdžan ima jedan uvjet, a to je da se oslobodi naš teritorij", rekao je. "Nagorno-Karabah je teritorij Azerbajdžana".

Govoreći odmah nakon, dužnosnik armenskog ministarstva obrane Artsrun Hovhannisyan rekao je: "Ne mislim da postoji bilo kakav rizik za Erevan (armenski glavni grad), ali u svakom slučaju mi smo u ratu".

Borbe su izazvale međunarodnu zabrinutost za stabilnost u južnom Kavkazu kroz koji cjevovodi prenose naftu i plin za svjetska tržišta te zbog mogućnosti da bi u sukob mogle biti uključene druge regionalne svjetske sile - Azerbajdžan podržava Turska, a Armenija ima obrambeni savez s Rusijom.

U ponedjeljak su vlasti Nagorno-Karabaha rekle da su azerbajdžanske snage izvele raketne napade na njihov administrativni centar Stepanakert, dok je Azerbajdžan rekao da je Armenija ispalila projektile na nekoliko gradova izvan odcijepljene regije.

Azerbajdžan je objavio da je Armenija izvela raketne napade na gusto naseljena područja i civilne infrastrukture u Azerbajdžanu, a  dužnosnik armenskog ministarstva obrane Hovhannisyan opovrgnuo je da su armenske snage napale azerbajdžanska uporišta.

Da izbije totalni rat između dviju bivših sovjetskih republika, Azerbajdžan bi imao jasnu prednost. Ima 81.950 pripadnika regularne vojske i paravojnih snaga, u usporedbi s 49.100 koliko ima Armenija, prema Međunarodnom institutu za strateška istraživanja (IISS).

Pozivi Rusije, Francuske, SAD-a i Europske unije da se prekine vatra nisu urodili plodom.

Armenija i Azerbajdžan u ponedjeljak su se međusobno optužili za napade na civilna područja, dok traje deveti dan borbi, najsmrtonosnijih u južnokavkaskoj regiji u više od 25 godina.

Stotine ljudi ubijene su u najnovijem izbijanju rata zbog Nagorno-Karabaha, planinske enklave koja pripada Azerbajdžanu po međunarodnom pravu, ali je naseljena i pod vlašću je etničkih Armenaca.

Borbe su se pojačale tijekom vikenda, a izgledi za prekid vatre čine se sve dalji nakon beskompromisnog govora azerbajdžanskog predsjednika Ilhama Alijeva u nedjelju.

U televizijskom obraćanju naciji, Alijev je rekao da su azerbajdžanske snage napredovale i ponovno preuzele područja koja su izgubila od etničkih Armenaca 1990-ih - premda je Armenija osporila njihove dobitke.
