„Ne očekujemo svoj ručak od dobrohotnosti mesara, pivara ili pekara, nego od brige koju oni imaju za vlastiti interes.” Tako je napisao Adam Smith prije dva i pol stoljeća.

Interes je, kako je to Hirschman definirao, „racionalizirana strast“, koji svaki pojedinac s pravom teži realizirati u svrhu podizanja kvalitete vlastitog života pa onda, samim tim, i cijele zajednice kvalitetom svoje usluge, plaćanjem poreza, što onda vodi onom što je na početku citirani Smith nazvao „bogatstvo naroda“.

No, riječ interes, pa i materijalni, kod nas zvuči kao psovka. Raditi u vlastitom interesu, bilo da se radi o osobi ili tvrtki, izjednačava se sa sebičnošću. Zato je, među inim, antipoduzetnički mentalitet u Hrvata davno dosegnuo razinu pandemije. No, kapitalizam je u svojoj biti kultura interesa, napominjem – kultura, u kojoj svaki pojedinac racionalno kalkulira što je dobro za njega, a što ne. Svakako da mesara ili pekara ne vodi gorljiva ljubav prema kupcima da bi napravio kvalitetnu robu, to je prije svega u njegovu interesu, jer će kupci pobjeći drugome, misleći opet na svoj interes, zdravlje, nebitno koji.

Nerazuman je čovjek ili tvrtka, svejedno, koji se ne brinu za vlastiti interes. A kada ljudi suprotstavljaju interes moralu i moralnosti, to u konačnici nije ni etično, ni prema vlastitoj obitelji, niti prema vlastitim zaposlenicima, ili dioničarima koji ulažu novac da bismo imali što kvalitetnije i dostupnije proizvode, često uz visoke rizike, pa mnogi i propadaju.

Kako su COVID i problematika cijepljenja ušli i u moje najuže privatno okruženje, ni nedjeljni ručak ili prijateljsko druženje ne prođu bez prijepora o (ne)cijepljenju. Što se mene tiče, dobro je da se raspravlja, to nam je svima, da oprostite, u interesu. Podijelit ću s vama tri teme koje su obilježile protekli tjedan, a koje nadilaze moje privatne relacije.

Prva tema, kako ću znati da nam znanstvenici koji rade na proizvodnji cjepiva govore istinu kada su svi na plaći farmaceutske industrije, interesno vezani?

Loši i opasni lijekovi

U redu, sumnja je normalan stav, nema nelegitimnih pitanja, naprotiv. No, s druge strane, to je kao da kažem da ne vjerujem zrakoplovnim inženjerima koji konstruiraju avione kojima letimo jer su na plaći u Boeingu ili Airbusu. K tome bih dodao da je „poznavanje“ fizike svih nas koji smo prošli tjedan sjedili za stolom u mojoj kući, zakona čije poznavanje je ključno jer omogućavaju (nikada sto posto siguran) let, isto kao i naše „znanje“ o imunološkim mehanizmima. No, nekoliko milijardi ljudi ipak se godišnje ukrca u avion, a među njima je vrlo, vrlo malo onih koji imaju diplomu fizike. Povjerenje, povjerenje, dragi moji, jer u njihovu je interesu da su im avioni što kvalitetniji, da se ne ruše, neće ih nitko kupovati, kao što je jedan model Boeinga povučen s tržišta i donio im ogromne gubitke.

Druga tema jesu kazne koje su farmaceutske tvrke, pa i Pfizer, platile zbog loših ili opasnih lijekova, kako im vjerovati u slučaju cjepiva?

Ja sigurno neću braniti velike farmaceutske tvrtke, naprotiv, regulatorni mehanizmi trebaju im stalno visjeti nad vratom. Da, zarađuju na svojim proizvodima, nisu to, kao ni bilo koja druga industrija, humanitarne organizacije, kao ni mesari ili pekari. Hrana se kupuje, lijekovi također. Zato im, uz druge industrije (internetski divovi) kojima je COVID donio ekstraprofit, treba odrediti veće poreze, o čemu se raspravljalo na posljednjemu sastanku G7. Ali ako se danas dijete rođeno u Hrvatskoj može nadati da će živjeti i devedeset godina, to je također zahvaljujući farmaceutima i, naravno, suvremenoj medicini. Bez cjepiva i lijekova donedavno smo umirali od bolesti koje su danas nestale, ili se jednostavno liječe i preveniraju. To je bio dug proces pun i pogrešaka i zloporaba, ali koji je drugi put?

Farmaceuti će se obogatiti

Na tom tragu, profita, a ne zdravlja, ili ne znam koje druge namjerne prijevare, kažu da je virus tu radi cjepiva, a ne obrnuto.

No, ima tu jedan paradoks. Ako im zbog njihova profita osobno želite učiniti uslugu, dobro, ne cijepite se. Naime, ako se osoba cijepi dvjema dozama, farmaceutskim tvrtkama donosi oko 40 eura bruto. No, ako se pak ne cijepite i završite u bolnici, a takvih je golema većina hospitaliziranih, i tamo budete u prosjeku, recimo, 20 dana, pogotovo na intenzivnoj, vaše liječenje proizvodima koje ti isti farmaceuti proizvode donijet će istim farmaceutima sto i više puta novca nego da ste se cijepili.

Da parafraziram rečenicu s početka teksta, nisam naivan i ne očekujem svoje zdravlje od dobrohotnosti farmaceutskih tvrtki, već od njihove brige za svoje interese. Kao što su i necijepljenje i COVID postali platforma za (legitimne) političke i ine interese koji s COVID-om u biti nemaju zapravo nikakve veze, već s političkim profiterstvom ili borbom za svojih pet minuta slave. O.K., ali onda, kao mesari ili pekari, neka me ne uvjeravaju da se brinu za moju slobodu ili dobrobit. Jer, sasvim legitimno, svatko traži kako COVID profitirati, politički, moralno ili materijalno, slijedeći svoj interes.

Kvaka je samo u jednom, tko od njih donosi koristi, a tko štete ljudskom zdravlju i zajednici općenito. Vidjet ćemo, iako osobno nemam preveliku dilemu...

„Ne očekujemo svoj ručak od dobrohotnosti mesara, pivara ili pekara, nego od brige koju oni imaju za vlastiti interes.” Tako je napisao Adam Smith prije dva i pol stoljeća.

Interes je, kako je to Hirschman definirao, „racionalizirana strast“, koji svaki pojedinac s pravom teži realizirati u svrhu podizanja kvalitete vlastitog života pa onda, samim tim, i cijele zajednice kvalitetom svoje usluge, plaćanjem poreza, što onda vodi onom što je na početku citirani Smith nazvao „bogatstvo naroda“.

No, riječ interes, pa i materijalni, kod nas zvuči kao psovka. Raditi u vlastitom interesu, bilo da se radi o osobi ili tvrtki, izjednačava se sa sebičnošću. Zato je, među inim, antipoduzetnički mentalitet u Hrvata davno dosegnuo razinu pandemije. No, kapitalizam je u svojoj biti kultura interesa, napominjem – kultura, u kojoj svaki pojedinac racionalno kalkulira što je dobro za njega, a što ne. Svakako da mesara ili pekara ne vodi gorljiva ljubav prema kupcima da bi napravio kvalitetnu robu, to je prije svega u njegovu interesu, jer će kupci pobjeći drugome, misleći opet na svoj interes, zdravlje, nebitno koji.

Nerazuman je čovjek ili tvrtka, svejedno, koji se ne brinu za vlastiti interes. A kada ljudi suprotstavljaju interes moralu i moralnosti, to u konačnici nije ni etično, ni prema vlastitoj obitelji, niti prema vlastitim zaposlenicima, ili dioničarima koji ulažu novac da bismo imali što kvalitetnije i dostupnije proizvode, često uz visoke rizike, pa mnogi i propadaju.

Kako su COVID i problematika cijepljenja ušli i u moje najuže privatno okruženje, ni nedjeljni ručak ili prijateljsko druženje ne prođu bez prijepora o (ne)cijepljenju. Što se mene tiče, dobro je da se raspravlja, to nam je svima, da oprostite, u interesu. Podijelit ću s vama tri teme koje su obilježile protekli tjedan, a koje nadilaze moje privatne relacije.

Prva tema, kako ću znati da nam znanstvenici koji rade na proizvodnji cjepiva govore istinu kada su svi na plaći farmaceutske industrije, interesno vezani?

Loši i opasni lijekovi

U redu, sumnja je normalan stav, nema nelegitimnih pitanja, naprotiv. No, s druge strane, to je kao da kažem da ne vjerujem zrakoplovnim inženjerima koji konstruiraju avione kojima letimo jer su na plaći u Boeingu ili Airbusu. K tome bih dodao da je „poznavanje“ fizike svih nas koji smo prošli tjedan sjedili za stolom u mojoj kući, zakona čije poznavanje je ključno jer omogućavaju (nikada sto posto siguran) let, isto kao i naše „znanje“ o imunološkim mehanizmima. No, nekoliko milijardi ljudi ipak se godišnje ukrca u avion, a među njima je vrlo, vrlo malo onih koji imaju diplomu fizike. Povjerenje, povjerenje, dragi moji, jer u njihovu je interesu da su im avioni što kvalitetniji, da se ne ruše, neće ih nitko kupovati, kao što je jedan model Boeinga povučen s tržišta i donio im ogromne gubitke.

Druga tema jesu kazne koje su farmaceutske tvrke, pa i Pfizer, platile zbog loših ili opasnih lijekova, kako im vjerovati u slučaju cjepiva?

Ja sigurno neću braniti velike farmaceutske tvrtke, naprotiv, regulatorni mehanizmi trebaju im stalno visjeti nad vratom. Da, zarađuju na svojim proizvodima, nisu to, kao ni bilo koja druga industrija, humanitarne organizacije, kao ni mesari ili pekari. Hrana se kupuje, lijekovi također. Zato im, uz druge industrije (internetski divovi) kojima je COVID donio ekstraprofit, treba odrediti veće poreze, o čemu se raspravljalo na posljednjemu sastanku G7. Ali ako se danas dijete rođeno u Hrvatskoj može nadati da će živjeti i devedeset godina, to je također zahvaljujući farmaceutima i, naravno, suvremenoj medicini. Bez cjepiva i lijekova donedavno smo umirali od bolesti koje su danas nestale, ili se jednostavno liječe i preveniraju. To je bio dug proces pun i pogrešaka i zloporaba, ali koji je drugi put?

Farmaceuti će se obogatiti

Na tom tragu, profita, a ne zdravlja, ili ne znam koje druge namjerne prijevare, kažu da je virus tu radi cjepiva, a ne obrnuto.

No, ima tu jedan paradoks. Ako im zbog njihova profita osobno želite učiniti uslugu, dobro, ne cijepite se. Naime, ako se osoba cijepi dvjema dozama, farmaceutskim tvrtkama donosi oko 40 eura bruto. No, ako se pak ne cijepite i završite u bolnici, a takvih je golema većina hospitaliziranih, i tamo budete u prosjeku, recimo, 20 dana, pogotovo na intenzivnoj, vaše liječenje proizvodima koje ti isti farmaceuti proizvode donijet će istim farmaceutima sto i više puta novca nego da ste se cijepili.

Da parafraziram rečenicu s početka teksta, nisam naivan i ne očekujem svoje zdravlje od dobrohotnosti farmaceutskih tvrtki, već od njihove brige za svoje interese. Kao što su i necijepljenje i COVID postali platforma za (legitimne) političke i ine interese koji s COVID-om u biti nemaju zapravo nikakve veze, već s političkim profiterstvom ili borbom za svojih pet minuta slave. O.K., ali onda, kao mesari ili pekari, neka me ne uvjeravaju da se brinu za moju slobodu ili dobrobit. Jer, sasvim legitimno, svatko traži kako COVID profitirati, politički, moralno ili materijalno, slijedeći svoj interes.

Kvaka je samo u jednom, tko od njih donosi koristi, a tko štete ljudskom zdravlju i zajednici općenito. Vidjet ćemo, iako osobno nemam preveliku dilemu...
