Papa Franjo osudio je u utorak predrasude prema Romima i njihovu diskriminaciju, prilikom posjeta nekim od najsiromašnijih naselja u Slovačkoj, poručivši da je pogrešno etiketirati cijele etničke skupine.
Osamdesetčetverogodišnji papa Franjo posjetio je, pretposljednji dan svog posjeta Slovačkoj, Lunik IX, predgrađe drugog najvećeg slovačkog graad Košica.
"Ne možemo pojednostavljivati realnost drugih kako bi ona odgovarala našim unaprijed zadanim idejama; ljude se ne smije etiketirati", kazao je, govoreći u blizini dotrajalih betonskih zgrada blizu odlagališta otpada, u kojima živi oko 4.300 ljudi.
"Prečesto ste bili predmet predrasuda i oštrih osuda, diskriminatornih stereotipa, klevetničkih riječi i gesta", rekao je Papa nakon obraćanja nekoliko stanovnika i katoličkog svećenika koji pomaže romskoj zajednici.

"Rezultat je da smo svi siromašniji što se tiče humanosti", rekao je.
U Slovačkoj, zemlji s 5.5 milijuna stanovnika, živi oko 440 tisuća Roma, većinom na istoku zemlje.
U Luniku mnogi stanovnici pale što god mogu u zimskim mjesecima kako bi se ugrijali zato što u mnogim zgradama nema grijanja. Zbog toga je kvaliteta zraka loša.
"On (Papa) donosi nešto radosti u ovo mjesto", rekla je jedna Romkinja novinarima.
Stopa nezaposlenosti slovačkih Roma puno je veća od državnih 7, 7 posto.
Slovačka je u travnju usvojila strategiju za poboljšanje položaja Roma do 2030., a fokus je na većem zaposlenju, boljem obrazovanju, zdravstvenoj skrbi i smještaju.
Obraćajući se stanovnicima s otvorene pozornice prekrivene bijelom tkaninom s cvjetnim uzorcima, što su oslikala romska djeca, Papa je rekao da su Bogu svi ljudi jednaki.
"Osude i predrasude samo povećavaju distancu. Neprijateljstvo i oštre riječi nisu od pomoći. Marginalizacijom drugih ništa se ne postiže. Odvajanjem sebe i drugih ljudi na kraju proizvodimo bijes", poručio je Papa.

Svećenik Marian Deahos, koji djeluje među Romima u obližnjem gradu, kazao je da su zbog stereotipa otežani integracija i komunikacija.
"Problem je što svi misle da su Romi inferiorni", rekao je novinarima.
"Svi misle da kradu, da ne žele raditi. Svi misle da bi trebali ostati u ovakvom getu i ne biti dio društva s nama", dodao je.
Papa je u svom obraćanju apelirao na Rome da napreduju "korak po korak, poštenim radom, dostojanstveno zarađujući za kruh svagdašnji".
Njegova posljednja aktivnost u utorak bilo je obraćanje mladima na nogometnom stadionu u Košicama.

Papa Franjo osudio je u utorak predrasude prema Romima i njihovu diskriminaciju, prilikom posjeta nekim od najsiromašnijih naselja u Slovačkoj, poručivši da je pogrešno etiketirati cijele etničke skupine.
Osamdesetčetverogodišnji papa Franjo posjetio je, pretposljednji dan svog posjeta Slovačkoj, Lunik IX, predgrađe drugog najvećeg slovačkog graad Košica.
"Ne možemo pojednostavljivati realnost drugih kako bi ona odgovarala našim unaprijed zadanim idejama; ljude se ne smije etiketirati", kazao je, govoreći u blizini dotrajalih betonskih zgrada blizu odlagališta otpada, u kojima živi oko 4.300 ljudi.
"Prečesto ste bili predmet predrasuda i oštrih osuda, diskriminatornih stereotipa, klevetničkih riječi i gesta", rekao je Papa nakon obraćanja nekoliko stanovnika i katoličkog svećenika koji pomaže romskoj zajednici.

"Rezultat je da smo svi siromašniji što se tiče humanosti", rekao je.
U Slovačkoj, zemlji s 5.5 milijuna stanovnika, živi oko 440 tisuća Roma, većinom na istoku zemlje.
U Luniku mnogi stanovnici pale što god mogu u zimskim mjesecima kako bi se ugrijali zato što u mnogim zgradama nema grijanja. Zbog toga je kvaliteta zraka loša.
"On (Papa) donosi nešto radosti u ovo mjesto", rekla je jedna Romkinja novinarima.
Stopa nezaposlenosti slovačkih Roma puno je veća od državnih 7, 7 posto.
Slovačka je u travnju usvojila strategiju za poboljšanje položaja Roma do 2030., a fokus je na većem zaposlenju, boljem obrazovanju, zdravstvenoj skrbi i smještaju.
Obraćajući se stanovnicima s otvorene pozornice prekrivene bijelom tkaninom s cvjetnim uzorcima, što su oslikala romska djeca, Papa je rekao da su Bogu svi ljudi jednaki.
"Osude i predrasude samo povećavaju distancu. Neprijateljstvo i oštre riječi nisu od pomoći. Marginalizacijom drugih ništa se ne postiže. Odvajanjem sebe i drugih ljudi na kraju proizvodimo bijes", poručio je Papa.

Svećenik Marian Deahos, koji djeluje među Romima u obližnjem gradu, kazao je da su zbog stereotipa otežani integracija i komunikacija.
"Problem je što svi misle da su Romi inferiorni", rekao je novinarima.
"Svi misle da kradu, da ne žele raditi. Svi misle da bi trebali ostati u ovakvom getu i ne biti dio društva s nama", dodao je.
Papa je u svom obraćanju apelirao na Rome da napreduju "korak po korak, poštenim radom, dostojanstveno zarađujući za kruh svagdašnji".
Njegova posljednja aktivnost u utorak bilo je obraćanje mladima na nogometnom stadionu u Košicama.
