Dužnosnici Europske unije razmatraju da ponude financijsku kompenzaciju Mađarskoj, a sve kako bi uvjerili premijera Viktora Orbana da pristane na naftni embargo Rusiji.
Prema riječima trojice dužnosnika EU, novac bi se mogao usmjeriti u Budimpeštu kao dio nove energetske strategije, koja bi trebala biti predstavljena sljedećeg tjedna. Na taj bi se način prekinulo toliko oslanjanje na ruska fosilna goriva. Zatvaranje europskog tržišta za izvoz nafte ruskom predsjedniku Vladimiru Putinu smatra se ključnim za ograničavanje unosnog izvora prihoda koji mu pomaže financirati rat u Ukrajini, piše Politico.
Mađarska potpora naftnom embargu ključna je za održavanje političkog cilja u obliku snažnog i ujedinjenog europskog suprotstavljanja Putinovim potezima u Ukrajini. Međutim, Orban je dosad blokirao sankcije koje je EU htjela nametnuti Rusiji u pogledu nafte, a mađarski premijer tvrdio je da bi ukidanje uvoza bilo poput 'bacanja nuklearne bombe na mađarsko gospodarstvo', prenosi Jutarnji.
Orban se u ponedjeljak sastao i s predsjednicom Europske komisije Ursulom von der Leyen, no njihov je sastanak završio bez dogovora, a naknadna videokonferencija za koju se spominjalo da bi na njoj trebali sudjelovati Orban, hrvatski premijer Plenković, von der Leyen te još neki lideri - je otkazana do daljnjega.
Najnoviji plan vezan uz sankcije EU Rusiji, piše Politico, predviđa da se Mađarskoj i Slovačkoj, dvjema zemljama bez izlaza na more koje se uvelike oslanjaju na rusku naftu, da rok da se do kraja 2024. odluče za naftni embargo. To bi značilo dvije godine dulje od ostatka Europske unije, a Češka bi, primjerice, imala rok do kraja lipnja 2024.
Međutim, Mađarska je naglasila da joj treba još više vremena da smanji svoju ovisnost o ruskoj nafti. Dužnosnici su rekli da bi, kako bi se izbjeglo daljnje rastezanje vremenskog okvira, na stolu mogao pronaći i prijedlog financijske naknade.
U svojoj nadolazećoj energetskoj strategiji, pod nazivom REPoweEU, Komisija želi upotrijebiti mehanizme plaćanja i omogućiti sredstva za zemlje EU, uključujući Mađarsku. Cilj REPowerEU strategije jest postepeno ukidanje tolike ovisnosti o ruskim fosilnim gorivima prije 2030. godine.
"Što više možemo pomoći Mađarskoj s REPowerEU, to će se ona brže udaljiti od ruske nafte", rekao je visoki dužnosnik EU.
Glasnogovornik Europske komisije također je priznao "specifičnu situaciju država članica i potrebu da se pobrinu za njihove specifične okolnosti" prilikom dovršetka naftnog embarga za Rusiju.
Dužnosnici i diplomati sada pokušavaju postići kompromis kako bi se Budimpešta uključila. Jutros je francuski predsjednik Emmanuel Macron telefonom razgovarao s Orbanom kako bi "u duhu solidarnosti finalizirao jamstva koja su neophodni uvjeti za opskrbu naftom."
Visoki diplomat EU Josep Borrell rekao je da se nada da će "poteškoće biti riješene" do sljedećeg tjedna, prije nego što se ministri vanjskih poslova EU sastanu u ponedjeljak. Ako ne, Borrell je rekao da je na ministrima vanjskih poslova da razgovaraju o paketu mogućih rješenja.
"Mala odgoda nije neka katastrofa, sve dok i dalje postoji jedinstvo EU članica u vezi sankcija", rekao je jedan diplomat EU, prenosi Politico.
Kao što je Jutarnji list već izvijestio, jedan od ključnih Orbanovih motiva zbog kojih se nećka oko naftnog embarga je činjenica da bi u tom slučaju Mađarska energetski postala potpuno ovisna o Hrvatskoj. U međuvremenu je na vidjelo izašao i njegov istup na mađarskom radiju čijim se novinarima požalio da njegova zemlja ne bi imala problema s embargom da "joj nisu oduzeli more", očito se referirajući na hrvatsku obalu čiji su dijelovi nekoć bili u sastavu Ugarske. Na taj je njegov istup hrvatska strana reagirala diplomatskom notom kao i zahtjevom za pojašnjenjem takvog stajališta uz napomenu da "Hrvatska osuđuje izjavu predsjednika mađarske vlade" kao i "bilo kakve teritorijalne pretenzije prema susjednim državama".

Dužnosnici Europske unije razmatraju da ponude financijsku kompenzaciju Mađarskoj, a sve kako bi uvjerili premijera Viktora Orbana da pristane na naftni embargo Rusiji.
Prema riječima trojice dužnosnika EU, novac bi se mogao usmjeriti u Budimpeštu kao dio nove energetske strategije, koja bi trebala biti predstavljena sljedećeg tjedna. Na taj bi se način prekinulo toliko oslanjanje na ruska fosilna goriva. Zatvaranje europskog tržišta za izvoz nafte ruskom predsjedniku Vladimiru Putinu smatra se ključnim za ograničavanje unosnog izvora prihoda koji mu pomaže financirati rat u Ukrajini, piše Politico.
Mađarska potpora naftnom embargu ključna je za održavanje političkog cilja u obliku snažnog i ujedinjenog europskog suprotstavljanja Putinovim potezima u Ukrajini. Međutim, Orban je dosad blokirao sankcije koje je EU htjela nametnuti Rusiji u pogledu nafte, a mađarski premijer tvrdio je da bi ukidanje uvoza bilo poput 'bacanja nuklearne bombe na mađarsko gospodarstvo', prenosi Jutarnji.
Orban se u ponedjeljak sastao i s predsjednicom Europske komisije Ursulom von der Leyen, no njihov je sastanak završio bez dogovora, a naknadna videokonferencija za koju se spominjalo da bi na njoj trebali sudjelovati Orban, hrvatski premijer Plenković, von der Leyen te još neki lideri - je otkazana do daljnjega.
Najnoviji plan vezan uz sankcije EU Rusiji, piše Politico, predviđa da se Mađarskoj i Slovačkoj, dvjema zemljama bez izlaza na more koje se uvelike oslanjaju na rusku naftu, da rok da se do kraja 2024. odluče za naftni embargo. To bi značilo dvije godine dulje od ostatka Europske unije, a Češka bi, primjerice, imala rok do kraja lipnja 2024.
Međutim, Mađarska je naglasila da joj treba još više vremena da smanji svoju ovisnost o ruskoj nafti. Dužnosnici su rekli da bi, kako bi se izbjeglo daljnje rastezanje vremenskog okvira, na stolu mogao pronaći i prijedlog financijske naknade.
U svojoj nadolazećoj energetskoj strategiji, pod nazivom REPoweEU, Komisija želi upotrijebiti mehanizme plaćanja i omogućiti sredstva za zemlje EU, uključujući Mađarsku. Cilj REPowerEU strategije jest postepeno ukidanje tolike ovisnosti o ruskim fosilnim gorivima prije 2030. godine.
"Što više možemo pomoći Mađarskoj s REPowerEU, to će se ona brže udaljiti od ruske nafte", rekao je visoki dužnosnik EU.
Glasnogovornik Europske komisije također je priznao "specifičnu situaciju država članica i potrebu da se pobrinu za njihove specifične okolnosti" prilikom dovršetka naftnog embarga za Rusiju.
Dužnosnici i diplomati sada pokušavaju postići kompromis kako bi se Budimpešta uključila. Jutros je francuski predsjednik Emmanuel Macron telefonom razgovarao s Orbanom kako bi "u duhu solidarnosti finalizirao jamstva koja su neophodni uvjeti za opskrbu naftom."
Visoki diplomat EU Josep Borrell rekao je da se nada da će "poteškoće biti riješene" do sljedećeg tjedna, prije nego što se ministri vanjskih poslova EU sastanu u ponedjeljak. Ako ne, Borrell je rekao da je na ministrima vanjskih poslova da razgovaraju o paketu mogućih rješenja.
"Mala odgoda nije neka katastrofa, sve dok i dalje postoji jedinstvo EU članica u vezi sankcija", rekao je jedan diplomat EU, prenosi Politico.
Kao što je Jutarnji list već izvijestio, jedan od ključnih Orbanovih motiva zbog kojih se nećka oko naftnog embarga je činjenica da bi u tom slučaju Mađarska energetski postala potpuno ovisna o Hrvatskoj. U međuvremenu je na vidjelo izašao i njegov istup na mađarskom radiju čijim se novinarima požalio da njegova zemlja ne bi imala problema s embargom da "joj nisu oduzeli more", očito se referirajući na hrvatsku obalu čiji su dijelovi nekoć bili u sastavu Ugarske. Na taj je njegov istup hrvatska strana reagirala diplomatskom notom kao i zahtjevom za pojašnjenjem takvog stajališta uz napomenu da "Hrvatska osuđuje izjavu predsjednika mađarske vlade" kao i "bilo kakve teritorijalne pretenzije prema susjednim državama".
