Ljudi s visokim krvnim tlakom koji redovito uzimaju i paracetamol mogli bi povećati rizik od srčanog i moždanog udara. Pokazuje to najnovija studija koju su proveli znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta u Edinburghu, a objavljena je u časopisu Circulation. Dio liječnika istraživanje uzima s rezervom, jer smatraju da i dalje ima dosta nedoumica oko dugotrajnih učinaka lijeka.
Kao što znamo paracetamol se široko koristi u cijelom svijetu kao kratkoročni lijek za bolove, ali se također propisuje za liječenje kronične boli, unatoč malo dokaza o njegovoj dobrobiti za dugotrajnu upotrebu.
Kako navodi BBC, povremeno uzimanje paracetamola protiv bolova za glavobolju i temperaturu je sigurno i na te osobe se ne odnosi ovo upozorenje.
- Ali istraživanje ukazuje na novootkriveni rizik za ljude koji ga redovito uzimaju tijekom dužeg razdoblja, obično za kroničnu bol - napomenuo je dr. Iain MacIntyre, liječnik iz Škotske. U Velikoj Britaniji liječnici često daju paracetamol na recept osobama s dugotrajnom boli umjesto primjerice ibuprofena.
Studija je pratila 110 dobrovoljaca, od kojih je dvije trećine uzimalo lijekove za visoki krvni tlak. Od njih je zatraženo da uzimaju jedan gram paracetamola četiri puta dnevno tijekom dva tjedna - što je uobičajena doza za pacijente s kroničnom boli - a zatim prazne tablete ili placebo još dva tjedna.
„Pokazalo se da paracetamol povećava krvni tlak, jedan od najvažnijih čimbenika rizika za srčane i moždane udare, mnogo više od placeba, ističe prof. James Dear, klinički farmakolog iz Edinburgha. Istraživači savjetuju liječnicima da pacijentima s kroničnom boli u početku daju što nižu dozu paracetamola i da pomno prate one s visokim krvnim tlakom i rizikom od srčanih bolesti.

Dr. Richard Francis, iz Udruge za moždani udar smatra da su potrebna daljnja istraživanja na ljudima s normalnim, zdravim krvnim tlakom, tijekom duljeg vremenskog razdoblja kako bi se potvrdili rizici i prednosti šire upotrebe paracetamola.
Dr. Dipender Gill, predavač kliničke farmakologije i terapije na Sveučilištu St. George's u Londonu, rekao je da studija otkriva „mali“, ali ipak značajan porast krvnog tlaka te dodao kako i dalje ipak ostaju mnoge nepoznanice. "Prvo, nije jasno hoće li se uočeno povećanje krvnog tlaka održati uz dugotrajnu primjenu paracetamola. Drugo, nije pouzdano poznato bi li ikakvo povećanje krvnog tlaka koje se može pripisati uporabi paracetamola moglo dovesti do povećanog rizika od kardiovaskularnih bolesti", istaknuo je dr. Gill.
Velika američka studija prethodno je otkrila vezu između dugotrajne uporabe paracetamola i povećanog rizika od srčanog udara, ali nije mogla dokazati da jedno uzrokuje drugo. I druge manje studije nisu uspjele potvrditi vezu.
Tim iz Edinburgha poručio je da ne može objasniti na koji način paracetamol povisuje krvni tlak, ali drže da bi njihova otkrića trebala dovesti do revizije dugoročnih recepata za paracetamol. Britanska zaklada za srce, koja je financirala studiju, ustvrdila je da bi liječnici i pacijenti trebali redovito promišljati je li potreban bilo kakav lijek, čak i nešto "relativno bezopasno poput paracetamola".

Ljudi s visokim krvnim tlakom koji redovito uzimaju i paracetamol mogli bi povećati rizik od srčanog i moždanog udara. Pokazuje to najnovija studija koju su proveli znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta u Edinburghu, a objavljena je u časopisu Circulation. Dio liječnika istraživanje uzima s rezervom, jer smatraju da i dalje ima dosta nedoumica oko dugotrajnih učinaka lijeka.
Kao što znamo paracetamol se široko koristi u cijelom svijetu kao kratkoročni lijek za bolove, ali se također propisuje za liječenje kronične boli, unatoč malo dokaza o njegovoj dobrobiti za dugotrajnu upotrebu.
Kako navodi BBC, povremeno uzimanje paracetamola protiv bolova za glavobolju i temperaturu je sigurno i na te osobe se ne odnosi ovo upozorenje.
- Ali istraživanje ukazuje na novootkriveni rizik za ljude koji ga redovito uzimaju tijekom dužeg razdoblja, obično za kroničnu bol - napomenuo je dr. Iain MacIntyre, liječnik iz Škotske. U Velikoj Britaniji liječnici često daju paracetamol na recept osobama s dugotrajnom boli umjesto primjerice ibuprofena.
Studija je pratila 110 dobrovoljaca, od kojih je dvije trećine uzimalo lijekove za visoki krvni tlak. Od njih je zatraženo da uzimaju jedan gram paracetamola četiri puta dnevno tijekom dva tjedna - što je uobičajena doza za pacijente s kroničnom boli - a zatim prazne tablete ili placebo još dva tjedna.
„Pokazalo se da paracetamol povećava krvni tlak, jedan od najvažnijih čimbenika rizika za srčane i moždane udare, mnogo više od placeba, ističe prof. James Dear, klinički farmakolog iz Edinburgha. Istraživači savjetuju liječnicima da pacijentima s kroničnom boli u početku daju što nižu dozu paracetamola i da pomno prate one s visokim krvnim tlakom i rizikom od srčanih bolesti.

Dr. Richard Francis, iz Udruge za moždani udar smatra da su potrebna daljnja istraživanja na ljudima s normalnim, zdravim krvnim tlakom, tijekom duljeg vremenskog razdoblja kako bi se potvrdili rizici i prednosti šire upotrebe paracetamola.
Dr. Dipender Gill, predavač kliničke farmakologije i terapije na Sveučilištu St. George's u Londonu, rekao je da studija otkriva „mali“, ali ipak značajan porast krvnog tlaka te dodao kako i dalje ipak ostaju mnoge nepoznanice. "Prvo, nije jasno hoće li se uočeno povećanje krvnog tlaka održati uz dugotrajnu primjenu paracetamola. Drugo, nije pouzdano poznato bi li ikakvo povećanje krvnog tlaka koje se može pripisati uporabi paracetamola moglo dovesti do povećanog rizika od kardiovaskularnih bolesti", istaknuo je dr. Gill.
Velika američka studija prethodno je otkrila vezu između dugotrajne uporabe paracetamola i povećanog rizika od srčanog udara, ali nije mogla dokazati da jedno uzrokuje drugo. I druge manje studije nisu uspjele potvrditi vezu.
Tim iz Edinburgha poručio je da ne može objasniti na koji način paracetamol povisuje krvni tlak, ali drže da bi njihova otkrića trebala dovesti do revizije dugoročnih recepata za paracetamol. Britanska zaklada za srce, koja je financirala studiju, ustvrdila je da bi liječnici i pacijenti trebali redovito promišljati je li potreban bilo kakav lijek, čak i nešto "relativno bezopasno poput paracetamola".
