Britanac Roger Penrose, Nijemac Reinhard Genzel i Amerikanka Andrea Ghez osvojili su Nobelovu nagradu za fiziku za 2020. godine za svoja otkrića o jednom od najegzotičnijih fenomena u svemiru, crnim rupama, objavio je u utorak švedski Institut Karolinska.  

"Otkrića ovogodišnjih laureata temelj su novih područja istraživanja kompaktnih i supermasivnih objekata" u svemiru, rekao je David Haviland, predsjednik Nobelova odbora za fiziku.

Penrose je osvojio polovinu novčane nagrade jer je otkrio "da nastanak crne rupe pouzdano pretkazuje opću teoriju relativnosti", načela koje je proslavio Albert Einstein, dok preostalu polovicu dijele Genzel i Ghez koji su nagrađeni za "otkriće kompaktnog supermasivnog objekta u središtu naše galaksije ”, stoji u objašnjenju Švedske kraljevske akademije znanosti.

Penrose (89) matematičkim je putem još 1965. dokazao da je moguće formiranje crnih rupa te da one postaju cjelina kojoj ništa, čak ni svjetlost ne uspijeva umaknuti. Njegovi matematički izračuni su dokazali da su crne rupe izravna posljedica Einsteinove opće teorije relativnosti.

Genzel (68) i Ghez (55) su, koristeći najveće svjetske teleskope otkrili supermasivnu crnu rupu, koja je četiri milijuna puta veća od Sunca.

Sada znanstvenici znaju da sve galaksije imaju svoje supermasivne crne rupe.

One su velika zagonetka za astrofizičare, osobito zbog načina na koji postaju toliko velike. Znanstvenici vjeruju da vrtoglavom brzinom proždiru sve plinove što ih emitiraju vrlo guste galaksije u njihovu okruženju. Dvoje fizičara još od početka devedesetih istražuje područje nazvano Strijelac A* u središtu Mliječne staze. 

Andrea Ghez četvrta je žena s osvojenim Nobelom za fiziku. Prije nje su je dobile Marie Curie (1903.), kada je priznanje podijelila sa suprugom Pierreom, Maria Goeppert-Mayer (1963.) i Donna Strickland (2018.), koja je nagradu podijelila s kolegom Gerardom Mourouom). Marie Curie je 1911. osvojila i nagradu za kemiju.

Britanac Roger Penrose, Nijemac Reinhard Genzel i Amerikanka Andrea Ghez osvojili su Nobelovu nagradu za fiziku za 2020. godine za svoja otkrića o jednom od najegzotičnijih fenomena u svemiru, crnim rupama, objavio je u utorak švedski Institut Karolinska.  

"Otkrića ovogodišnjih laureata temelj su novih područja istraživanja kompaktnih i supermasivnih objekata" u svemiru, rekao je David Haviland, predsjednik Nobelova odbora za fiziku.

Penrose je osvojio polovinu novčane nagrade jer je otkrio "da nastanak crne rupe pouzdano pretkazuje opću teoriju relativnosti", načela koje je proslavio Albert Einstein, dok preostalu polovicu dijele Genzel i Ghez koji su nagrađeni za "otkriće kompaktnog supermasivnog objekta u središtu naše galaksije ”, stoji u objašnjenju Švedske kraljevske akademije znanosti.

Penrose (89) matematičkim je putem još 1965. dokazao da je moguće formiranje crnih rupa te da one postaju cjelina kojoj ništa, čak ni svjetlost ne uspijeva umaknuti. Njegovi matematički izračuni su dokazali da su crne rupe izravna posljedica Einsteinove opće teorije relativnosti.

Genzel (68) i Ghez (55) su, koristeći najveće svjetske teleskope otkrili supermasivnu crnu rupu, koja je četiri milijuna puta veća od Sunca.

Sada znanstvenici znaju da sve galaksije imaju svoje supermasivne crne rupe.

One su velika zagonetka za astrofizičare, osobito zbog načina na koji postaju toliko velike. Znanstvenici vjeruju da vrtoglavom brzinom proždiru sve plinove što ih emitiraju vrlo guste galaksije u njihovu okruženju. Dvoje fizičara još od početka devedesetih istražuje područje nazvano Strijelac A* u središtu Mliječne staze. 

Andrea Ghez četvrta je žena s osvojenim Nobelom za fiziku. Prije nje su je dobile Marie Curie (1903.), kada je priznanje podijelila sa suprugom Pierreom, Maria Goeppert-Mayer (1963.) i Donna Strickland (2018.), koja je nagradu podijelila s kolegom Gerardom Mourouom). Marie Curie je 1911. osvojila i nagradu za kemiju.

Nobel za fiziku Amerikanki, Britancu i Nijemcu za ‘svemirska‘ otkrića: znanstvenici sada znaju da sve galaksije imaju svoje supermasivne crne rupe

Britanac Roger Penrose, Nijemac Reinhard Genzel i Amerikanka Andrea Ghez osvojili su Nobelovu nagradu za fiziku za 2020. godine za svoja otkrića o jednom od najegzotičnijih fenomena u svemiru, crnim rupama, objavio je u utorak švedski Institut Karolinska.  

"Otkrića ovogodišnjih laureata temelj su novih područja istraživanja kompaktnih i supermasivnih objekata" u svemiru, rekao je David Haviland, predsjednik Nobelova odbora za fiziku.

Penrose je osvojio polovinu novčane nagrade jer je otkrio "da nastanak crne rupe pouzdano pretkazuje opću teoriju relativnosti", načela koje je proslavio Albert Einstein, dok preostalu polovicu dijele Genzel i Ghez koji su nagrađeni za "otkriće kompaktnog supermasivnog objekta u središtu naše galaksije ”, stoji u objašnjenju...
