Davy Crockett je bila jedinstvena nuklearna naprava koju su razvile oružane snage SAD tijekom ere Hladnog rata. Nazvano po legendarnom američkom narodnom heroju Davyju Crockettu, ovo oružje predstavlja intrigantno poglavlje u povijesti nuklearne tehnologije.
Nastanak Davy Crocketta može se pratiti do ranih 1950-ih kada su Sjedinjene Američke Države nastojale razviti taktičko nuklearno oružje sposobno suprotstaviti se sovjetskoj prijetnji tokom Hladnog rata. Cilj je bio stvoriti malu, prenosivu i učinkovitu nuklearnu napravu koja bi se mogla koristiti na bojnom polju, podsjeća klix.ba.
Projekt je započet 1958. godine, a u roku od godinu dana proizvedeni su prvi prototipi. Davy Crockett dizajniran je kao beztrzajni sistem koji može lansirati nuklearnu bojevu glavu, nazvanu W54, koja je imala snagu ekvivalentnu između 10 i 20 tona TNT-a. To ga je učinilo najmanjim nuklearnim oružjem koje su Sjedinjene Amerilke Države ikada razvile i jednim od najmanjih oružja toga tipa ikada.

Davy Crockett prvenstveno je dizajniran kako bi ga koristile pješadijske postrojbe, pružajući im mogućnost brzog napada na neprijateljske položaje. Sistem se sastojao od lansera, koji je nalikovao velikoj cijevi, i sklopa nalik ruksaku koji je držao nuklearnu bojevu glavu. Cijeli je uređaj težio otprilike 34 kg i njime je mogla upravljati mala posada.
Domet Davy Crocketta bio je ograničen, s učinkovitim dometom paljbe od 2 do 4 km. Prvenstveno je bio namijenjen za korištenje protiv sovjetskih oklopnih snaga u Evropi u slučaju izbijanja konvencionalnog rata. Ideja je bila stvoriti taktičko nuklearno oružje koje bi se moglo upotrijebiti na lokaliziran način bez prouzročenja široko rasprostranjenog razaranja.
Uprkos svojoj namjeni, Davy Crockett izazvao je velike kontroverze i opravdanu zabrinutost. Kritičari su tvrdili da je ograničeni domet oružja učinio podložnim odmazdi, potencijalno izlažući prijateljske snage istoj razini uništenja. Osim toga, opasnost od radijacije povezana s korištenjem čak i male nuklearne naprave bila je glavna briga.

Upotreba nuklearnog oružja u taktičkim scenarijima također je zapalila rasprave o potencijalnoj eskalaciji sveopćeg nuklearnog rata. Mnogi su se bojali da bi raspoređivanje takvog oružja na bojnom polju moglo dovesti do nekontrolirane lančane reakcije nuklearnih udara, s razornim posljedicama, piše klix.ba.
Radni vijek Davy Crocketta bio je kratkog vijeka. Do ranih 1960-ih, napredak u konvencionalnom naoružanju, kao i sve veće razumijevanje opasnosti koje predstavlja nuklearno oružje, doveli su do njegovog povlačenja. Posljednja poznata proizvodna jedinica demontirana je 1971. godine.
Nakon što su Amerikanci odlučili poslati kasetne bombe u Ukrajinu, s pravom se nagađa jesu li spremni poslati i neko još ubojitije oružje? No, naravno, Davy Crockett ipak ne dolazi u obzir, ako ništa, i iz čisto tehničkih razloga.

Davy Crockett je bila jedinstvena nuklearna naprava koju su razvile oružane snage SAD tijekom ere Hladnog rata. Nazvano po legendarnom američkom narodnom heroju Davyju Crockettu, ovo oružje predstavlja intrigantno poglavlje u povijesti nuklearne tehnologije.
Nastanak Davy Crocketta može se pratiti do ranih 1950-ih kada su Sjedinjene Američke Države nastojale razviti taktičko nuklearno oružje sposobno suprotstaviti se sovjetskoj prijetnji tokom Hladnog rata. Cilj je bio stvoriti malu, prenosivu i učinkovitu nuklearnu napravu koja bi se mogla koristiti na bojnom polju, podsjeća klix.ba.
Projekt je započet 1958. godine, a u roku od godinu dana proizvedeni su prvi prototipi. Davy Crockett dizajniran je kao beztrzajni sistem koji može lansirati nuklearnu bojevu glavu, nazvanu W54, koja je imala snagu ekvivalentnu između 10 i 20 tona TNT-a. To ga je učinilo najmanjim nuklearnim oružjem koje su Sjedinjene Amerilke Države ikada razvile i jednim od najmanjih oružja toga tipa ikada.

Davy Crockett prvenstveno je dizajniran kako bi ga koristile pješadijske postrojbe, pružajući im mogućnost brzog napada na neprijateljske položaje. Sistem se sastojao od lansera, koji je nalikovao velikoj cijevi, i sklopa nalik ruksaku koji je držao nuklearnu bojevu glavu. Cijeli je uređaj težio otprilike 34 kg i njime je mogla upravljati mala posada.
Domet Davy Crocketta bio je ograničen, s učinkovitim dometom paljbe od 2 do 4 km. Prvenstveno je bio namijenjen za korištenje protiv sovjetskih oklopnih snaga u Evropi u slučaju izbijanja konvencionalnog rata. Ideja je bila stvoriti taktičko nuklearno oružje koje bi se moglo upotrijebiti na lokaliziran način bez prouzročenja široko rasprostranjenog razaranja.
Uprkos svojoj namjeni, Davy Crockett izazvao je velike kontroverze i opravdanu zabrinutost. Kritičari su tvrdili da je ograničeni domet oružja učinio podložnim odmazdi, potencijalno izlažući prijateljske snage istoj razini uništenja. Osim toga, opasnost od radijacije povezana s korištenjem čak i male nuklearne naprave bila je glavna briga.

Upotreba nuklearnog oružja u taktičkim scenarijima također je zapalila rasprave o potencijalnoj eskalaciji sveopćeg nuklearnog rata. Mnogi su se bojali da bi raspoređivanje takvog oružja na bojnom polju moglo dovesti do nekontrolirane lančane reakcije nuklearnih udara, s razornim posljedicama, piše klix.ba.
Radni vijek Davy Crocketta bio je kratkog vijeka. Do ranih 1960-ih, napredak u konvencionalnom naoružanju, kao i sve veće razumijevanje opasnosti koje predstavlja nuklearno oružje, doveli su do njegovog povlačenja. Posljednja poznata proizvodna jedinica demontirana je 1971. godine.
Nakon što su Amerikanci odlučili poslati kasetne bombe u Ukrajinu, s pravom se nagađa jesu li spremni poslati i neko još ubojitije oružje? No, naravno, Davy Crockett ipak ne dolazi u obzir, ako ništa, i iz čisto tehničkih razloga.
