Svalbard, norveški arhipelag u Arktiku, u subotu je potukao apsolutni temperaturni rekord dosegnuvši 22 stupnjeva Celzijevih, objavio je norveški meteorološki institut.

S 21,7 stupnjeva izmjerenih u 18 sati po mjesnom vremenu blizu mjesta Longyearbyen, arhipelag je imao najtopliji dan od početka mjerenja.

Prethodni rekord dogodio se 16. srpnja 1979., kada je bilo izmjereno 21,3 stupnjeva, rekao je meteorolog Kristen Gislefoss.
Skupina otoka poznatijih po imenu Spitzberg, nalazi se tisuću kilometara od Sjevernog pola.

Subotnji temperaturni rekord koji bi trebao potrajati do ponedjeljka, daleko je iznad uobičajenih temperatura za ovo godišnje doba: u srpnju, koji je najtopliji mjesec na Arktiku, temperature se na Svalbardu kreću između 5 i 8 stupnjeva C.

Arktik se zagrijava dvaput brže od ostatka planeta, kažu znanstvenici.

Ljeto 2020. u regiji obilježeno je gotovo vrućinama u ruskom Arktiku: temperature 5 stupnjeva C iznad normale u siječnju u Sibiru te vrhunac od 38 stupnjeva C početkom srpnja u arktičkom krugu.

Prema službenom norveškom izvješću "Klima u Svalbardu 2100.", prosječna temperatura na Svalbardu za razdoblje od 2070. do 2100. trebala bi porasti od 7 do 10 stupnjeva u odnosu na razdoblje 1970. do 2000., ako se nastavi dosadašnji čovjek utjecaj na klimu. 

Poznat po svojim polarnim medvjedima, arhipelag Svalbard ima i jednu posebnost: ondje se nalazi ugljenokop, a riječ je o energiji koja emitira najviše stakleničkih plinova.

No na Svalbardu je smještena i "Vegetacijska Noina arka", inagurirana 2008., a riječ je o banci u kojoj se čuvaju sjemenja za budućnost u slučaju kataklizme.

Taj 'biljni sef' osmišljen protiv klimatskih promjena i sam je bio žrtva globalnog zagrijavanja. Moralo se uložiti 20 milijuna eura kako bi se sanirao pošto su u njega 2016. prodrle vode izazvane topljenjem permafrosta - u načelu vječno zamrznutog tla u arktičkom području.

Svalbard, norveški arhipelag u Arktiku, u subotu je potukao apsolutni temperaturni rekord dosegnuvši 22 stupnjeva Celzijevih, objavio je norveški meteorološki institut.

S 21,7 stupnjeva izmjerenih u 18 sati po mjesnom vremenu blizu mjesta Longyearbyen, arhipelag je imao najtopliji dan od početka mjerenja.

Prethodni rekord dogodio se 16. srpnja 1979., kada je bilo izmjereno 21,3 stupnjeva, rekao je meteorolog Kristen Gislefoss.
Skupina otoka poznatijih po imenu Spitzberg, nalazi se tisuću kilometara od Sjevernog pola.

Subotnji temperaturni rekord koji bi trebao potrajati do ponedjeljka, daleko je iznad uobičajenih temperatura za ovo godišnje doba: u srpnju, koji je najtopliji mjesec na Arktiku, temperature se na Svalbardu kreću između 5 i 8 stupnjeva C.

Arktik se zagrijava dvaput brže od ostatka planeta, kažu znanstvenici.

Ljeto 2020. u regiji obilježeno je gotovo vrućinama u ruskom Arktiku: temperature 5 stupnjeva C iznad normale u siječnju u Sibiru te vrhunac od 38 stupnjeva C početkom srpnja u arktičkom krugu.

Prema službenom norveškom izvješću "Klima u Svalbardu 2100.", prosječna temperatura na Svalbardu za razdoblje od 2070. do 2100. trebala bi porasti od 7 do 10 stupnjeva u odnosu na razdoblje 1970. do 2000., ako se nastavi dosadašnji čovjek utjecaj na klimu. 

Poznat po svojim polarnim medvjedima, arhipelag Svalbard ima i jednu posebnost: ondje se nalazi ugljenokop, a riječ je o energiji koja emitira najviše stakleničkih plinova.

No na Svalbardu je smještena i "Vegetacijska Noina arka", inagurirana 2008., a riječ je o banci u kojoj se čuvaju sjemenja za budućnost u slučaju kataklizme.

Taj 'biljni sef' osmišljen protiv klimatskih promjena i sam je bio žrtva globalnog zagrijavanja. Moralo se uložiti 20 milijuna eura kako bi se sanirao pošto su u njega 2016. prodrle vode izazvane topljenjem permafrosta - u načelu vječno zamrznutog tla u arktičkom području.

Na norveškom arhipelagu u Arktiku izmjerena rekordna 22 stupnja, inače su temperature u srpnju između 5 i 8 stupnjeva

Svalbard, norveški arhipelag u Arktiku, u subotu je potukao apsolutni temperaturni rekord dosegnuvši 22 stupnjeva Celzijevih, objavio je norveški meteorološki institut.

S 21,7 stupnjeva izmjerenih u 18 sati po mjesnom vremenu blizu mjesta Longyearbyen, arhipelag je imao najtopliji dan od početka mjerenja.

Prethodni rekord dogodio se 16. srpnja 1979., kada je bilo izmjereno 21,3 stupnjeva, rekao je meteorolog Kristen Gislefoss.
Skupina otoka poznatijih po imenu Spitzberg, nalazi se tisuću kilometara od Sjevernog pola.

Subotnji temperaturni rekord koji bi trebao potrajati do ponedjeljka, daleko je iznad uobičajenih temperatura za ovo godišnje doba: u srpnju, koji je najtopliji mjesec na Arktiku, temperature se na Svalbardu kreću između 5 i 8 stupnjeva C.
