Milijarder Andrej Babiš ima namjeru kandidirati se za predsjednika Češke Republike, piše ABC News.
Babiš, kontroverzni bivši premijer, oglasio se u nedjelju navečer u televizijskom prijenosu. Rekao je da je njegov jedini cilj "da ljudi imaju bolji život".
Babis je govorio nakon sastanka sa svojim saveznikom, predsjednikom Milošem Zemanom, čiji drugi i posljednji mandat istječe u siječnju.
Prvi krug predsjedničkih izbora zakazan je za 13. i 14. siječnja. Drugi krug, ako do njega dođe, održat će se dva tjedna kasnije.
Babiš se trenutno suočava sa suđenjem u slučaju prijevare od 2 milijuna dolara koja uključuje subvencije Europske unije.
Muljanje sa subvencijama
Slučaj uključuje farmu poznatu kao ‘Gnijezdo roda‘ koja je dobila subvencije EU-a nakon što je vlasništvo prebačeno s Babišovog Agrofert konglomerata od oko 250 tvrtki na članove Babišove obitelji. Kasnije je Agrofert ponovno preuzeo vlasništvo nad farmom.
Subvencije su bile namijenjene srednjem i malom poduzetništvu, a Agrofert na njih ne bi imao pravo. Agrofert je kasnije subvenciju vratio, a još uvijek nije poznato kada se može očekivati presuda.
Babiš poriče bilo kakvu krivnju i opetovano je rekao da su optužbe protiv njega politički motivirane, prenosi Jutarnji.hr.
Babišov centristički pokret ANO harao je češkom politikom 2013., završivši iznenađujuće drugi na parlamentarnim izborima s porukom protiv korupcije da postane mlađi partner u vladi s Babišem kao ministrom financija. Četiri godine kasnije pobijedio je na izborima i postao premijer.
Četvrt milijuna ljudi izašlo je na ulice, najveće takve prosvjede od antikomunističke Baršunaste revolucije 1989., dva puta 2019. zahtijevajući da Babiš odstupi zbog njegovih skandala.
Babišov pokret izgubio je parlamentarne izbore prošle godine u listopadu. Koalicija pet stranaka formirala je novu vladu, a ANO je završio u oporbi.
Još jedan skandal
Prije izbora pogodio ga je još jedan skandal koji je povezivao njega i stotine drugih bogataša s offshore računima u otkrićima Međunarodnog konzorcija istraživačkih novinara nazvanim "Pandora Papers". Babiš je i u tom slučaju poricao bilo kakvu krivnju.
Babiš je rođen u Slovačkoj, gdje se također suočava s optužbama da je surađivao s tajnom policijom iz komunističke ere u Čehoslovačkoj prije antikomunističke Baršunaste revolucije 1989. godine. Babiš je i te optužbe negirao
Babiš će biti među glavnim kandidatima na predsjedničkim izborima, zajedno s generalom vojske Petrom Pavelom, bivšim predsjedavajućim vojnog odbora NATO-a, i bivšom rektoricom sveučilišta Danuse Nerudovom.
Prosvjedi u Pragu
Inače, tisuće Čeha prosvjedovalo je u petak u Pragu protiv vlade desnog centra i pozvali na prijevremene izbore te na izravne pregovore s Rusijom o opskrbi plinom uoči zime.
Prosvjed na državni praznik na glavnom trgu u Pragu bio je treći u organizaciji krajnje desnih političkih pokreta, marginalnih skupina i Komunističke partije.
Organizacijska skupina "Češka prva!" protivi se Europskoj uniji i NATO-u i želi da nacija od 10,7 milijuna stanovnika bude vojno neutralna.
Prosvjednici su mahali češkim zastavama, uzvikivali "ostavka, ostavka" i nosili transparente koji pozivaju na izlazak iz NATO-a i EU-a.
"Ovo je novi nacionalni preporod i cilj mu je da Češka bude neovisna", rekao je organizator skupa Ladislav Vrabel. "Kad vidim prepun trg - nitko to ne može zaustaviti", dodao je.

Milijarder Andrej Babiš ima namjeru kandidirati se za predsjednika Češke Republike, piše ABC News.
Babiš, kontroverzni bivši premijer, oglasio se u nedjelju navečer u televizijskom prijenosu. Rekao je da je njegov jedini cilj "da ljudi imaju bolji život".
Babis je govorio nakon sastanka sa svojim saveznikom, predsjednikom Milošem Zemanom, čiji drugi i posljednji mandat istječe u siječnju.
Prvi krug predsjedničkih izbora zakazan je za 13. i 14. siječnja. Drugi krug, ako do njega dođe, održat će se dva tjedna kasnije.
Babiš se trenutno suočava sa suđenjem u slučaju prijevare od 2 milijuna dolara koja uključuje subvencije Europske unije.
Muljanje sa subvencijama
Slučaj uključuje farmu poznatu kao ‘Gnijezdo roda‘ koja je dobila subvencije EU-a nakon što je vlasništvo prebačeno s Babišovog Agrofert konglomerata od oko 250 tvrtki na članove Babišove obitelji. Kasnije je Agrofert ponovno preuzeo vlasništvo nad farmom.
Subvencije su bile namijenjene srednjem i malom poduzetništvu, a Agrofert na njih ne bi imao pravo. Agrofert je kasnije subvenciju vratio, a još uvijek nije poznato kada se može očekivati presuda.
Babiš poriče bilo kakvu krivnju i opetovano je rekao da su optužbe protiv njega politički motivirane, prenosi Jutarnji.hr.
Babišov centristički pokret ANO harao je češkom politikom 2013., završivši iznenađujuće drugi na parlamentarnim izborima s porukom protiv korupcije da postane mlađi partner u vladi s Babišem kao ministrom financija. Četiri godine kasnije pobijedio je na izborima i postao premijer.
Četvrt milijuna ljudi izašlo je na ulice, najveće takve prosvjede od antikomunističke Baršunaste revolucije 1989., dva puta 2019. zahtijevajući da Babiš odstupi zbog njegovih skandala.
Babišov pokret izgubio je parlamentarne izbore prošle godine u listopadu. Koalicija pet stranaka formirala je novu vladu, a ANO je završio u oporbi.
Još jedan skandal
Prije izbora pogodio ga je još jedan skandal koji je povezivao njega i stotine drugih bogataša s offshore računima u otkrićima Međunarodnog konzorcija istraživačkih novinara nazvanim "Pandora Papers". Babiš je i u tom slučaju poricao bilo kakvu krivnju.
Babiš je rođen u Slovačkoj, gdje se također suočava s optužbama da je surađivao s tajnom policijom iz komunističke ere u Čehoslovačkoj prije antikomunističke Baršunaste revolucije 1989. godine. Babiš je i te optužbe negirao
Babiš će biti među glavnim kandidatima na predsjedničkim izborima, zajedno s generalom vojske Petrom Pavelom, bivšim predsjedavajućim vojnog odbora NATO-a, i bivšom rektoricom sveučilišta Danuse Nerudovom.
Prosvjedi u Pragu
Inače, tisuće Čeha prosvjedovalo je u petak u Pragu protiv vlade desnog centra i pozvali na prijevremene izbore te na izravne pregovore s Rusijom o opskrbi plinom uoči zime.
Prosvjed na državni praznik na glavnom trgu u Pragu bio je treći u organizaciji krajnje desnih političkih pokreta, marginalnih skupina i Komunističke partije.
Organizacijska skupina "Češka prva!" protivi se Europskoj uniji i NATO-u i želi da nacija od 10,7 milijuna stanovnika bude vojno neutralna.
Prosvjednici su mahali češkim zastavama, uzvikivali "ostavka, ostavka" i nosili transparente koji pozivaju na izlazak iz NATO-a i EU-a.
"Ovo je novi nacionalni preporod i cilj mu je da Češka bude neovisna", rekao je organizator skupa Ladislav Vrabel. "Kad vidim prepun trg - nitko to ne može zaustaviti", dodao je.
