Kineski znanstvenici otkrili su novi soj gripe koji ima potencijal da postane nova pandemija. Taj se virus pojavio nedavno i nose ga svinje, no može zaraziti i ljude, piše BBC.

Znanstvenici su zabrinuti da bi taj virus mogao mutirati i lako se širiti s čovjeka na čovjeka te izazvati novu pandemiju.

Iako se ne radi o virusu koji trenutno izaziva probleme, znanstvenici ističu da ga treba pažljivo nadzirati. S obzirom na to da je virus nov, ljudi na njega nemaju imunitet.

Znanstveni časopis 'Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences' piše da bi se mjere za kontrolu virusa u svinjama trebale odmah implementirati, kao i da je potrebno strogo nadziranje radnika u mesnoj industriji.

Prijetnja pandemije

Novi soj virusa gripe među glavnim je prijetnjama bolesti koje stručnjaci promatraju, čak i sada, kada cijeli svijet još pokušava obuzdati pandemiju koronavirusa.

Posljednja pandemijska gripa s kojom se svijet susreo bila je svinjska gripa 2009. godine. Počela je u Meksiku i bila je manje smrtonosna nego što se predviđalo, uglavnom zbog toga što su stariji ljudi imali neku vrstu imuniteta, vjerojatno zbog sličnosti s drugim virusima gripe koji su cirkulirali godinama prije dolaska svinjske gripe.

Za virus A/H1N1pdm09 sada postoji cjepivo. Ovaj novi soj otkriven u Kini ima neke sličnosti s virusom svinjske gripe, no s određenim promjenama. 

Iako taj novi virus do sada nije predstavljao prijetnju, profedor Kin-Chow Chang i njegovi kolege koji ovaj virus proučavaju kažu da o njemu svakako treba voditi računa. 

Taj su virus znanstvenici nazvali G4 EA H1N1. Može rasti i razmnožavati se u ljudskim stanicama dišnih puteva. 

Nedavno su pronađeni dokazi da su se tim virusom inficirali ljudi koji su radili u klaonicama i mesnoj industriji u Kini. 

'Ne smijemo ovo ignorirati'

Čini se da postojeća cjepiva protiv gripe ne štite od ovog virusa, iako postoji mogućnost da se ona prilagode ako to bude potrebno.

'Trenutno nam svu pažnju uzima koronavirus, i to je opravdano. No ne smijemo ispustiti iz vida i druge potencijalno opasne viruse. Ne smijemo ih ignorirati', rekao je za BBC Kin-Chow Chang s britanskog sveučilišta Nottingham.

Profesor James Wood s odsjeka za veterinu Sveučilišta u Cambridgeu kaže da je ovo samo podsjetnik na činjenicu da smo stalno u opasnosti od pojava novih patogena te da životinje s kojima ljudi imaju puno više kontakta nego s divljim životinjama mogu biti izvor novih pandemijskih virusa.

Kineski znanstvenici otkrili su novi soj gripe koji ima potencijal da postane nova pandemija. Taj se virus pojavio nedavno i nose ga svinje, no može zaraziti i ljude, piše BBC.

Znanstvenici su zabrinuti da bi taj virus mogao mutirati i lako se širiti s čovjeka na čovjeka te izazvati novu pandemiju.

Iako se ne radi o virusu koji trenutno izaziva probleme, znanstvenici ističu da ga treba pažljivo nadzirati. S obzirom na to da je virus nov, ljudi na njega nemaju imunitet.

Znanstveni časopis 'Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences' piše da bi se mjere za kontrolu virusa u svinjama trebale odmah implementirati, kao i da je potrebno strogo nadziranje radnika u mesnoj industriji.

Prijetnja pandemije

Novi soj virusa gripe među glavnim je prijetnjama bolesti koje stručnjaci promatraju, čak i sada, kada cijeli svijet još pokušava obuzdati pandemiju koronavirusa.

Posljednja pandemijska gripa s kojom se svijet susreo bila je svinjska gripa 2009. godine. Počela je u Meksiku i bila je manje smrtonosna nego što se predviđalo, uglavnom zbog toga što su stariji ljudi imali neku vrstu imuniteta, vjerojatno zbog sličnosti s drugim virusima gripe koji su cirkulirali godinama prije dolaska svinjske gripe.

Za virus A/H1N1pdm09 sada postoji cjepivo. Ovaj novi soj otkriven u Kini ima neke sličnosti s virusom svinjske gripe, no s određenim promjenama. 

Iako taj novi virus do sada nije predstavljao prijetnju, profedor Kin-Chow Chang i njegovi kolege koji ovaj virus proučavaju kažu da o njemu svakako treba voditi računa. 

Taj su virus znanstvenici nazvali G4 EA H1N1. Može rasti i razmnožavati se u ljudskim stanicama dišnih puteva. 

Nedavno su pronađeni dokazi da su se tim virusom inficirali ljudi koji su radili u klaonicama i mesnoj industriji u Kini. 

'Ne smijemo ovo ignorirati'

Čini se da postojeća cjepiva protiv gripe ne štite od ovog virusa, iako postoji mogućnost da se ona prilagode ako to bude potrebno.

'Trenutno nam svu pažnju uzima koronavirus, i to je opravdano. No ne smijemo ispustiti iz vida i druge potencijalno opasne viruse. Ne smijemo ih ignorirati', rekao je za BBC Kin-Chow Chang s britanskog sveučilišta Nottingham.

Profesor James Wood s odsjeka za veterinu Sveučilišta u Cambridgeu kaže da je ovo samo podsjetnik na činjenicu da smo stalno u opasnosti od pojava novih patogena te da životinje s kojima ljudi imaju puno više kontakta nego s divljim životinjama mogu biti izvor novih pandemijskih virusa.

Kineski znanstvenici otkrili su novi soj gripe koji ima potencijal da postane nova pandemija. Taj se virus pojavio nedavno i nose ga svinje, no može zaraziti i ljude, piše BBC.

Znanstvenici su zabrinuti da bi taj virus mogao mutirati i lako se širiti s čovjeka na čovjeka te izazvati novu pandemiju.

Iako se ne radi o virusu koji trenutno izaziva probleme, znanstvenici ističu da ga treba pažljivo nadzirati. S obzirom na to da je virus nov, ljudi na njega nemaju imunitet.

Znanstveni časopis 'Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences' piše da bi se mjere za kontrolu virusa u svinjama trebale odmah implementirati, kao i da je potrebno strogo nadziranje radnika u mesnoj industriji.
