Kanadski Nacionalni savjetnički odbor za imunizaciju (NACI), koji nadgleda provedbu kampanje cijepljenja protiv koronavirusa, preporučio je da se za ljude mlađe od 55 godine prestane upotrebljavati AstraZenecino cjepivo i zatražio je novu analizu o rizicima i prednostima koja se baziraju na dobi i spolu.

Taj je potez posljedica izvješća iz Europe o rijetkim, ali ozbiljnim slučajevima pojave krvnih ugrušaka, krvarenja i u nekim slučajevima smrti nakon cijepljenja, poglavito kod mlađih ženskih osoba. U Kanadi nije prijavljen nijedan takav slučaj, a upotrijebljeno je oko 307.000 doza AstraZenecinog cjepiva.

"Iz onoga što znamo, postoji značajna nesigurnost vezana za prednosti upotrebe AstraZeneca cjepiva protiv koronavirusa kod osoba mlađih od 55 godina", poručio je NACI u pisanoj preporuci.

Starije osobe su suočene s većim rizikom od hospitalizacije i smrti povezane s bolesti Covid-19, a čini se da su i komplikacije rijeđe u toj dobnoj skupini, pa se njima može ponuditi cjepivo "uz informirani pristinak", poručili su nezavisni stručnjaci iz NACI-ja.

Vodeći se tim preporukama, odbor vodećih zdravstvenih dužnosnika, u koji su uključeni regionalni i savezni predstavnici, izjavio je da će zaustaviti korištenje cjepiva za mlađe od 55 godina. Odbor je dodao da se pri donošenju odluke vodio činjenicom da Kanada na raspolaganju ima i cjepiva drugih proizvođača, a većina je primjenjenih doza došlo od Pfizera i Moderne.

Oko 11,8 posto Kanađana primilo je barem jednu dozu cjepiva.

Health Canada (Kanadsko zdravstvo), kanadski regulator za lijekove, izjavio je da će postaviti dodatne uvjete za odobrenje AstraZenecinog cjepiva u koje će biti uključen i "zahtjev da proizvođač provede detaljnu procjenu o učincima i rizicima cjepiva prema dobi i spolu u kanadskom kontekstu". Iz Kanadskog zdravstva su rekli da su u razgovorima s AstraZenecom i da će po primitku traženih informacija "odlučiti jesu li potrebni dodatni regulatorni potezi".

Početkom ovog mjeseca mnoge su europske države nakratko prestale upotrebljavati cjepivo anglo-švedske tvrtke za vrijeme trajanja istrage oko slučajeva pojave krvnih ugrušaka povezanih s cijepljenjem, ali je ono i dalje primjenjivano u Kanadi. Gotovo u svim europskim državama je cijepljenje nastavljeno nakon što je Europska medicinska agencija (EMA) cjepivo proglasila sigurnim.

Samo je Francuska donijela uredbu o primjeni cjepiva na osobe starije od 55 godina, a argument za takvu odluku bila je pojava krvnih ugrušaka kod mlađih osoba.

Kanada je u posljednjim tjednima zabilježila rast novih slučajeva zaraze koronavirusom pa je u ponedjeljak u British Columbiji zabranilo korištenje unutarnjih prostorija u ugostiteljskim objektima te grupno vježbanje u dvoranama, a ta će mjera ostati na snazi do 19. travnja. Zdravstveni dužnosnici su izjavili da su ove mjere uvedene za "prekidanje kruga", kako bi se zaustavilo širenje varijanti Covida-19. U British Columbiji je pronađeno 270 slučajeva zaraze brazilskim sojem (P1) za koji je uvriježeno mišljenje da se brže širi i da je otporniji na cjepivo.

Unatoč novim preporukama vezanih za primjenu AstraZenecinog cjepiva, kanadski dužnosnici i dalje očekuju da će imati dovoljne zalihe na raspolaganju kako bi do jeseni procijepili stanovništvo sa po dvije doze.

Kanadski Nacionalni savjetnički odbor za imunizaciju (NACI), koji nadgleda provedbu kampanje cijepljenja protiv koronavirusa, preporučio je da se za ljude mlađe od 55 godine prestane upotrebljavati AstraZenecino cjepivo i zatražio je novu analizu o rizicima i prednostima koja se baziraju na dobi i spolu.

Taj je potez posljedica izvješća iz Europe o rijetkim, ali ozbiljnim slučajevima pojave krvnih ugrušaka, krvarenja i u nekim slučajevima smrti nakon cijepljenja, poglavito kod mlađih ženskih osoba. U Kanadi nije prijavljen nijedan takav slučaj, a upotrijebljeno je oko 307.000 doza AstraZenecinog cjepiva.

"Iz onoga što znamo, postoji značajna nesigurnost vezana za prednosti upotrebe AstraZeneca cjepiva protiv koronavirusa kod osoba mlađih od 55 godina", poručio je NACI u pisanoj preporuci.

Starije osobe su suočene s većim rizikom od hospitalizacije i smrti povezane s bolesti Covid-19, a čini se da su i komplikacije rijeđe u toj dobnoj skupini, pa se njima može ponuditi cjepivo "uz informirani pristinak", poručili su nezavisni stručnjaci iz NACI-ja.

Vodeći se tim preporukama, odbor vodećih zdravstvenih dužnosnika, u koji su uključeni regionalni i savezni predstavnici, izjavio je da će zaustaviti korištenje cjepiva za mlađe od 55 godina. Odbor je dodao da se pri donošenju odluke vodio činjenicom da Kanada na raspolaganju ima i cjepiva drugih proizvođača, a većina je primjenjenih doza došlo od Pfizera i Moderne.

Oko 11,8 posto Kanađana primilo je barem jednu dozu cjepiva.

Health Canada (Kanadsko zdravstvo), kanadski regulator za lijekove, izjavio je da će postaviti dodatne uvjete za odobrenje AstraZenecinog cjepiva u koje će biti uključen i "zahtjev da proizvođač provede detaljnu procjenu o učincima i rizicima cjepiva prema dobi i spolu u kanadskom kontekstu". Iz Kanadskog zdravstva su rekli da su u razgovorima s AstraZenecom i da će po primitku traženih informacija "odlučiti jesu li potrebni dodatni regulatorni potezi".

Početkom ovog mjeseca mnoge su europske države nakratko prestale upotrebljavati cjepivo anglo-švedske tvrtke za vrijeme trajanja istrage oko slučajeva pojave krvnih ugrušaka povezanih s cijepljenjem, ali je ono i dalje primjenjivano u Kanadi. Gotovo u svim europskim državama je cijepljenje nastavljeno nakon što je Europska medicinska agencija (EMA) cjepivo proglasila sigurnim.

Samo je Francuska donijela uredbu o primjeni cjepiva na osobe starije od 55 godina, a argument za takvu odluku bila je pojava krvnih ugrušaka kod mlađih osoba.

Kanada je u posljednjim tjednima zabilježila rast novih slučajeva zaraze koronavirusom pa je u ponedjeljak u British Columbiji zabranilo korištenje unutarnjih prostorija u ugostiteljskim objektima te grupno vježbanje u dvoranama, a ta će mjera ostati na snazi do 19. travnja. Zdravstveni dužnosnici su izjavili da su ove mjere uvedene za "prekidanje kruga", kako bi se zaustavilo širenje varijanti Covida-19. U British Columbiji je pronađeno 270 slučajeva zaraze brazilskim sojem (P1) za koji je uvriježeno mišljenje da se brže širi i da je otporniji na cjepivo.

Unatoč novim preporukama vezanih za primjenu AstraZenecinog cjepiva, kanadski dužnosnici i dalje očekuju da će imati dovoljne zalihe na raspolaganju kako bi do jeseni procijepili stanovništvo sa po dvije doze.

Kanadski stručnjaci preporučili da se mlađe od 55 ne cijepe AstraZenecom, traže novu analizu po dobi i spolu

Kanadski Nacionalni savjetnički odbor za imunizaciju (NACI), koji nadgleda provedbu kampanje cijepljenja protiv koronavirusa, preporučio je da se za ljude mlađe od 55 godine prestane upotrebljavati AstraZenecino cjepivo i zatražio je novu analizu o rizicima i prednostima koja se baziraju na dobi i spolu.

Taj je potez posljedica izvješća iz Europe o rijetkim, ali ozbiljnim slučajevima pojave krvnih ugrušaka, krvarenja i u nekim slučajevima smrti nakon cijepljenja, poglavito kod mlađih ženskih osoba. U Kanadi nije prijavljen nijedan takav slučaj, a upotrijebljeno je oko 307.000 doza AstraZenecinog cjepiva.
