Prisutni su rani znakovi koji ukazuju na to da bi cijepljene osobe mogle jednako lako prenositi delta varijantu koronavirusa kao i necijepljene, objavila je Državna agencija za javno zdravstvo Engleske (PHE) u petak.
Nalazi se podudaraju s onima američkog Centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) koji je prošli tjedan upozorio da bi cijepljene osobe zaražene delta varijantom, za razliku od drugih varijanti, mogle širiti zarazu.
Vrlo zarazna delta varijanta koronavirusa dominantna je na globalnoj razini i održava na snazi pandemiju koja je ubila više od 4,4 milijuna ljudi, uključujući više od 130.000 u Velikoj Britaniji.
Pokazalo se da cjepiva pružaju dobru zaštitu od težih oboljenja i smrti nakon zaraze deltom, osobito dvije doze, ali ima manje podataka o tome mogu li cijepljene osobe i dalje širiti virus na druge.
- Neki početni nalazi (...) ukazuju na to da razine virusa u onima koji su se zarazili delta varijantom, a cijepljeni su, mogu biti slične razinama koje su pronađene kod necijepljenih osoba - priopćio je PHE.
- To može imati posljedice na zaraznost ljudi, bili oni cijepljeni ili ne. No, ovo je rana istraživačka analiza i potrebne su daljnje ciljane studije kako bi se potvrdilo je li to slučaj - dodaju.
PHE je objavio da je od 19. srpnja među hospitaliziranim osobama zaraženih delta varijantom, njih 55,1 posto bilo necijepljeno, a 34,9 posto ih je primilo obje doze cjepiva protiv covida-19.
Gotovo 75 posto britanskog stanovništva primilo je obje doze, a PHE navodi da će se "kako se što više stanovništva cijepi, vidjeti veći relativni postotak cijepljenih u bolnici".
Kolumbijska varijanta
PHE također navodi da druga varijanta, poznata kao B.1.621 i otkrivena u Kolumbiji, pokazuje znakove izbjegavanja imunološkog odgovora od cjepiva ili ranije zaraze.
PHE je naveo da je ta varijanta "pod istragom", ali nije je proglasio "zabrinjavajućom varijantom" - oznakom koja bi mogla potaknuti snažnu političku reakciju.
- Postoje preliminarni laboratorijski dokazi koji ukazuju na to da cijepljenje i ranija zaraza mogu biti manje učinkoviti u sprječavanju zaraze s B.1.621 - naveo je PHE i dodao da je potvrđeno 37 slučajeva te varijante u Engleskoj.
- Međutim, ti podaci su vrlo ograničeni i potrebna su dodatna istraživanja. Nema dokaza koji ukazuju na to da se više prenosi od dominantne delta varijante - objavila je engleska agencija.

Prisutni su rani znakovi koji ukazuju na to da bi cijepljene osobe mogle jednako lako prenositi delta varijantu koronavirusa kao i necijepljene, objavila je Državna agencija za javno zdravstvo Engleske (PHE) u petak.
Nalazi se podudaraju s onima američkog Centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) koji je prošli tjedan upozorio da bi cijepljene osobe zaražene delta varijantom, za razliku od drugih varijanti, mogle širiti zarazu.
Vrlo zarazna delta varijanta koronavirusa dominantna je na globalnoj razini i održava na snazi pandemiju koja je ubila više od 4,4 milijuna ljudi, uključujući više od 130.000 u Velikoj Britaniji.
Pokazalo se da cjepiva pružaju dobru zaštitu od težih oboljenja i smrti nakon zaraze deltom, osobito dvije doze, ali ima manje podataka o tome mogu li cijepljene osobe i dalje širiti virus na druge.
- Neki početni nalazi (...) ukazuju na to da razine virusa u onima koji su se zarazili delta varijantom, a cijepljeni su, mogu biti slične razinama koje su pronađene kod necijepljenih osoba - priopćio je PHE.
- To može imati posljedice na zaraznost ljudi, bili oni cijepljeni ili ne. No, ovo je rana istraživačka analiza i potrebne su daljnje ciljane studije kako bi se potvrdilo je li to slučaj - dodaju.
PHE je objavio da je od 19. srpnja među hospitaliziranim osobama zaraženih delta varijantom, njih 55,1 posto bilo necijepljeno, a 34,9 posto ih je primilo obje doze cjepiva protiv covida-19.
Gotovo 75 posto britanskog stanovništva primilo je obje doze, a PHE navodi da će se "kako se što više stanovništva cijepi, vidjeti veći relativni postotak cijepljenih u bolnici".
Kolumbijska varijanta
PHE također navodi da druga varijanta, poznata kao B.1.621 i otkrivena u Kolumbiji, pokazuje znakove izbjegavanja imunološkog odgovora od cjepiva ili ranije zaraze.
PHE je naveo da je ta varijanta "pod istragom", ali nije je proglasio "zabrinjavajućom varijantom" - oznakom koja bi mogla potaknuti snažnu političku reakciju.
- Postoje preliminarni laboratorijski dokazi koji ukazuju na to da cijepljenje i ranija zaraza mogu biti manje učinkoviti u sprječavanju zaraze s B.1.621 - naveo je PHE i dodao da je potvrđeno 37 slučajeva te varijante u Engleskoj.
- Međutim, ti podaci su vrlo ograničeni i potrebna su dodatna istraživanja. Nema dokaza koji ukazuju na to da se više prenosi od dominantne delta varijante - objavila je engleska agencija.
