Tajni dokument američke Središnje obavještajne agencije (CIA) pokazao je da je veliki broj njezinih suradnika ubijen ili promijenio stranu, što ukazuje na to da je američka protuobavještajna služba podcijenila svoje suparnike, te je uprava agencije zabrinuta da se mora posvetiti veća pozornost zaštiti agenata, prenosi Radio Slobodna Evropa.

Velik broj stranih obavještajnih agenata CIA-e ubijen je, zarobljen ili predan suparničkim agencijama, prema strogo povjerljivom dokumentu poslanom svim biroima u svijetu, napisao je londonski Times.

Dužnosnici obavještajne službe prošlog su tjedna upozorili kako su deseci špijuna pogubljeni posljednjih godina, što prema izvorima predstavlja nagli porast takvih incidenata.

Dokument koji je procurio uključivao je brojne agente koje su ubile strane agencije - povjerljiv detalj koji se, ističe Times, obično ne dijeli u tako rasprostranjenoj prepisci. Cilj je bio potaknuti biroe na poboljšanje sigurnosnih protokola, kažu bivši dužnosnici.

Loše obavještajne vještine, prekomjerno povjerenje u izvore, podcjenjivanje stranih agencija i prebrzo regrutiranje doušnika istaknuti su kao neki od razloga neuspjelih misija - problem opisan u pismu kao stavljanje misije iznad sigurnosnih pitanja.

Dok su tehnološke iskoraken poput biometrijskog skeniranja, hakiranja i umjetne inteligencije uspješno provele druge agencije za nadzor špijuna CIA -e, Sjedinjene Države zadržale su fokus na agentima gradeći mrežu pouzdanih doušnika koji bi, dodaje Times, trebali biti najbolji u svijetu kada je riječ o prikupljanju i analizi podataka.

Podcjenjivanje protivnika

Potvrđujući da je regrutiranje špijuna u drugim zemljama visokorizičan posao, pismo CIA-e koje je procurilo u javnost postavilo je pitanja koja muče agenciju posljednjih godina, posebno jer su suparničke obavještajne službe u zemljama kao što su Rusija, Kina, Iran i Pakistan uhvatile doušnike CIA -e, a u nekim ih je slučajevima čak uspješno pretvorile u dvostruke agente, napisao je The New York Times.

Upozorenje je, prema onima koji su ga pročitali, prvenstveno bilo usmjereno na policajce s "prve linije" - ljude koji su bili izravno uključeni u novačenje kandidata i provjeru izvora. 

Pismo poslano posljednjeg tjedna u rujnu sugerira da je agencija podcijenila svoje protivnike, vjerujući da su njezini vlastiti agenti nadomoćni. Međutim, dodaje New York Times, rezultati studije pokazali su da su zemlje na koje cilja SAD također vješte u lovu na doušnike, dok su vještine agencije zahrđale nakon desetljeća usredotočavanja na terorističke prijetnje i oslanjanja na rizične komunikacijske sustave.

Iako je u pismu identificiran niz špijuna koji su uhićeni ili ubijeni, broj onih koji su se okrenuli protiv SAD-a nije u potpunosti poznat. Ponekad, ističe njujorški list, doušnici koji otkriju suparničke obavještajne službe ne budu uhićeni, već se angažiraju kao dvostruki agenti koji CIA-i dostavljaju dezinformacije, rekli su bivši dužnosnici, dodajući da su Pakistanci u tome posebno učinkoviti.

U Iranu i Kini neki obavještajni dužnosnici vjeruju da su Amerikanci agencijama dostavili informacije koje bi mogle pomoći u otkrivanju doušnika u tim zemljama. Monica Elfriede Witt, bivša narednica zračnih snaga koja je pobjegla u Iran, optužena je za pružanje informacija Teheranu 2019. Kasnije te godine bivši časnik CIA -e Jerry Chun Shing Lee osuđen je na 19 godina zatvora zbog odavanja tajni kineskoj vladi.

Greške iz prošlosti

Pismo CIA-e poslano postajama i uredima diljem svijeta odražava opću zabrinutost agencije. Agencija ističe da bi njezini operativci trebali posvetiti više pažnje zaštiti svojih agenata, istovremeno uviđajući da moraju agresivno regrutirati špijune i doušnike kako bi izvršili svoju misiju prikupljanja obavještajnih podataka, napisao je The Washington post.

CIA je posljednjih godina pretrpjela katastrofalne upade u svoje špijunske mreže, gdje su, prema Washington novinama, agenti vjerojatno otkriveni zbog kršenja tajnog komunikacijskog sustava agencije putem kojeg je komunicirala s agentima na terenu.

U isto vrijeme, dodaje Washington, CIA je pod ponovnim pritiskom da regrutira i održava učinkovite špijunske mreže u Pakistanu, nakon povlačenja SAD -a iz susjednog Afganistana i talibanskih preuzimanja zemlje. Bivši dužnosnici kažu da će održavanje mreže pouzdanih ljudskih resursa biti ključno za planove uprave predsjednika Joea Bidena o praćenju terorističkih prijetnji bez vojne prisutnosti na terenu, rekli su bivši dužnosnici.

Tajni dokument američke Središnje obavještajne agencije (CIA) pokazao je da je veliki broj njezinih suradnika ubijen ili promijenio stranu, što ukazuje na to da je američka protuobavještajna služba podcijenila svoje suparnike, te je uprava agencije zabrinuta da se mora posvetiti veća pozornost zaštiti agenata, prenosi Radio Slobodna Evropa.

Velik broj stranih obavještajnih agenata CIA-e ubijen je, zarobljen ili predan suparničkim agencijama, prema strogo povjerljivom dokumentu poslanom svim biroima u svijetu, napisao je londonski Times.

Dužnosnici obavještajne službe prošlog su tjedna upozorili kako su deseci špijuna pogubljeni posljednjih godina, što prema izvorima predstavlja nagli porast takvih incidenata.

Dokument koji je procurio uključivao je brojne agente koje su ubile strane agencije - povjerljiv detalj koji se, ističe Times, obično ne dijeli u tako rasprostranjenoj prepisci. Cilj je bio potaknuti biroe na poboljšanje sigurnosnih protokola, kažu bivši dužnosnici.

Loše obavještajne vještine, prekomjerno povjerenje u izvore, podcjenjivanje stranih agencija i prebrzo regrutiranje doušnika istaknuti su kao neki od razloga neuspjelih misija - problem opisan u pismu kao stavljanje misije iznad sigurnosnih pitanja.

Dok su tehnološke iskoraken poput biometrijskog skeniranja, hakiranja i umjetne inteligencije uspješno provele druge agencije za nadzor špijuna CIA -e, Sjedinjene Države zadržale su fokus na agentima gradeći mrežu pouzdanih doušnika koji bi, dodaje Times, trebali biti najbolji u svijetu kada je riječ o prikupljanju i analizi podataka.

Podcjenjivanje protivnika

Potvrđujući da je regrutiranje špijuna u drugim zemljama visokorizičan posao, pismo CIA-e koje je procurilo u javnost postavilo je pitanja koja muče agenciju posljednjih godina, posebno jer su suparničke obavještajne službe u zemljama kao što su Rusija, Kina, Iran i Pakistan uhvatile doušnike CIA -e, a u nekim ih je slučajevima čak uspješno pretvorile u dvostruke agente, napisao je The New York Times.

Upozorenje je, prema onima koji su ga pročitali, prvenstveno bilo usmjereno na policajce s "prve linije" - ljude koji su bili izravno uključeni u novačenje kandidata i provjeru izvora. 

Pismo poslano posljednjeg tjedna u rujnu sugerira da je agencija podcijenila svoje protivnike, vjerujući da su njezini vlastiti agenti nadomoćni. Međutim, dodaje New York Times, rezultati studije pokazali su da su zemlje na koje cilja SAD također vješte u lovu na doušnike, dok su vještine agencije zahrđale nakon desetljeća usredotočavanja na terorističke prijetnje i oslanjanja na rizične komunikacijske sustave.

Iako je u pismu identificiran niz špijuna koji su uhićeni ili ubijeni, broj onih koji su se okrenuli protiv SAD-a nije u potpunosti poznat. Ponekad, ističe njujorški list, doušnici koji otkriju suparničke obavještajne službe ne budu uhićeni, već se angažiraju kao dvostruki agenti koji CIA-i dostavljaju dezinformacije, rekli su bivši dužnosnici, dodajući da su Pakistanci u tome posebno učinkoviti.

U Iranu i Kini neki obavještajni dužnosnici vjeruju da su Amerikanci agencijama dostavili informacije koje bi mogle pomoći u otkrivanju doušnika u tim zemljama. Monica Elfriede Witt, bivša narednica zračnih snaga koja je pobjegla u Iran, optužena je za pružanje informacija Teheranu 2019. Kasnije te godine bivši časnik CIA -e Jerry Chun Shing Lee osuđen je na 19 godina zatvora zbog odavanja tajni kineskoj vladi.

Greške iz prošlosti

Pismo CIA-e poslano postajama i uredima diljem svijeta odražava opću zabrinutost agencije. Agencija ističe da bi njezini operativci trebali posvetiti više pažnje zaštiti svojih agenata, istovremeno uviđajući da moraju agresivno regrutirati špijune i doušnike kako bi izvršili svoju misiju prikupljanja obavještajnih podataka, napisao je The Washington post.

CIA je posljednjih godina pretrpjela katastrofalne upade u svoje špijunske mreže, gdje su, prema Washington novinama, agenti vjerojatno otkriveni zbog kršenja tajnog komunikacijskog sustava agencije putem kojeg je komunicirala s agentima na terenu.

U isto vrijeme, dodaje Washington, CIA je pod ponovnim pritiskom da regrutira i održava učinkovite špijunske mreže u Pakistanu, nakon povlačenja SAD -a iz susjednog Afganistana i talibanskih preuzimanja zemlje. Bivši dužnosnici kažu da će održavanje mreže pouzdanih ljudskih resursa biti ključno za planove uprave predsjednika Joea Bidena o praćenju terorističkih prijetnji bez vojne prisutnosti na terenu, rekli su bivši dužnosnici.

Tajni dokument američke Središnje obavještajne agencije (CIA) pokazao je da je veliki broj njezinih suradnika ubijen ili promijenio stranu, što ukazuje na to da je američka protuobavještajna služba podcijenila svoje suparnike, te je uprava agencije zabrinuta da se mora posvetiti veća pozornost zaštiti agenata, prenosi Radio Slobodna Evropa.

Velik broj stranih obavještajnih agenata CIA-e ubijen je, zarobljen ili predan suparničkim agencijama, prema strogo povjerljivom dokumentu poslanom svim biroima u svijetu, napisao je londonski Times.

Dužnosnici obavještajne službe prošlog su tjedna upozorili kako su deseci špijuna pogubljeni posljednjih godina, što prema izvorima predstavlja nagli porast takvih incidenata.
