U srijedu je broj slučajeva zaraze koronavirusom u svijetu prešao 200 milijuna, prema podacima Reutersa, dok delta varijanta prijeti područjima s niskom stopom cijepljenja, piše Hina.

Slučajevi rastu u barem 83 od 240 zemalja, prema podacima Reutersa, te opterećuju zdravstvene sustave. 

- Očajnički želimo da ova pandemija bude gotova, no covid-19 očigledno nije gotov s nama. Stoga naša bitka mora potrajati malo duže - rekla je ovaj tjedan Rochelle Walensky, direktorica Američkog centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti. 

Barem 2,6 posto svjetske populacije je dosad bilo zaraženo, s time da su stvarne brojke vjerojatno više, zbog ograničenog testiranja u mnogim područjima.

Bila je potrebna godina dana da slučajevi covida-19 dosegnu 100 milijuna, dok je sljedećih 100 milijuna prijavljeno u sljedećih 6 mjeseci, prema podacima analize. Pandemija je usmrtila blizu 4,4 milijuna ljudi.

Zemlje koje prijavljuju najviše slučajeva u sedmodnevnom prosjeku - SAD, Brazil, Indonezija, Indija i Iran - predstavljaju oko 38 posto svih globalnih slučajeva koji se prijavljuju svaki dan.

U SAD-u je jedan od ukupno sedam prijavljenih slučajeva u svijetu. Američke savezne države s niskom stopom cijepljenja poput Floride i Louisiane bilježe rekordne brojke hospitaliziranih pacijenata.

Čelnik jedne bolnice u Louisiani upozorio je da "najmračniji dani" tek dolaze.

Među 97 posto ozbiljnih slučajeva zaraze spadaju necijepljeni ljudi, prema ekipi za covid-19 Bijele kuće.

Rast slučajeva u Aziji

Zemlje u jugoistočnoj Aziji također prijavljuju rast slučajeva. S 8 posto svjetske populacije, regija bilježi gotovo 15 posto svih globalnih dnevnih slučajeva, pokazuje analiza Reutersa.

Indonezija, koja se suočavala s eksponencijalnim rastom slučajeva covida-19 u srpnju, prijavljuje najviše smrtnih slučajeva u prosjeku te je u srijedu prešla brojku od ukupno 100 tisuća mrtvih.

Zemlja bilježi jednu od pet dnevnih smrti od covida-19 u svijetu. Ova južnoazijska nacija planira postupno otvarati svoju ekonomiju u rujnu, otkrio je u ponedjeljak ministar zdravstva, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, navodeći da je val zaraze prošao svoj vrhunac te da su potvrđeni dnevni slučajevi u opadanju.

Nakon što je prošla kroz najgore zarazu u travnju i svibnju, Indija ponovno bilježi uzlazni trend novih slučajeva. Prošli petak, zemlja je prijavila 44.230 novih slučajeva covida-19, najviše u tri tjedna, zbog čega raste zabrinutost od trećeg vala koji je prisilio jednu saveznu državu da uvede karantenu.

Kineski Wuhan, gdje se virus prvi put pojavio krajem 2019. godine, testirat će svojih 12 milijuna stanovnika na koronavirus nakon što su potvrđeni prvi lokalno preneseni slučajevi delta varijante. Grad nije prijavio lokalne slučajeve zaraze od sredine svibnja prošle godine. 

CDC je u internom dokumentu rekao da je delta varijanta, najprije otkrivena u Indiji, zarazna kao vodene kozice i puno zaraznija od obične prehlade ili gripe.

Gregory Poland, znanstvenik za cijepljenje iz klinike Mayo, rekao je da trenutna cjepiva neće okončati zarazu.

- Sada smo u scenariju kojeg smo sami izazvali, a trebat će nam godine ili desetljeća da porazimo pandemiju... Pokušavat ćemo uloviti nove varijante sve dok ne dobijemo tip cjepiva koje nudi blokiranje zaraze. - objasnio je.

Mnoge zemlje se i dalje suočavaju s nedostatkom opreme za testiranje, lijekova i cjepiva, dok delta varijanta opterećuje zdravstvene sustave u siromašnijim zemljama. Bogatije nacije se pozivaju da doniraju više cjepiva kako bi se na globalnoj razini zaustavio rast zaraženih.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) pozvala je na moratorij na davanje booster doza cjepiva protiv covida-19 barem do kraja rujna, rekao je u srijedu njezin direktor Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Time bi se omogućilo da se cijepi najmanje 10 posto stanovnika svake zemlje, naglasio je.

- Razumijem da sve vlade žele zaštititi svoje ljude od delta varijante. Ali ne možemo prihvatiti da zemlje koje su već iskoristile većinu globalno dostupnog cjepiva iskoriste još i više - rekao je.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) traži 11,5 milijardi dolara za borbu s delta varijantom virusa, pokazuje izvješće, uslijed zabrinutosti da bogate zemlje djelomično zaobilaze programe covida-19.

U srijedu je broj slučajeva zaraze koronavirusom u svijetu prešao 200 milijuna, prema podacima Reutersa, dok delta varijanta prijeti područjima s niskom stopom cijepljenja, piše Hina.

Slučajevi rastu u barem 83 od 240 zemalja, prema podacima Reutersa, te opterećuju zdravstvene sustave. 

- Očajnički želimo da ova pandemija bude gotova, no covid-19 očigledno nije gotov s nama. Stoga naša bitka mora potrajati malo duže - rekla je ovaj tjedan Rochelle Walensky, direktorica Američkog centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti. 

Barem 2,6 posto svjetske populacije je dosad bilo zaraženo, s time da su stvarne brojke vjerojatno više, zbog ograničenog testiranja u mnogim područjima.

Bila je potrebna godina dana da slučajevi covida-19 dosegnu 100 milijuna, dok je sljedećih 100 milijuna prijavljeno u sljedećih 6 mjeseci, prema podacima analize. Pandemija je usmrtila blizu 4,4 milijuna ljudi.

Zemlje koje prijavljuju najviše slučajeva u sedmodnevnom prosjeku - SAD, Brazil, Indonezija, Indija i Iran - predstavljaju oko 38 posto svih globalnih slučajeva koji se prijavljuju svaki dan.

U SAD-u je jedan od ukupno sedam prijavljenih slučajeva u svijetu. Američke savezne države s niskom stopom cijepljenja poput Floride i Louisiane bilježe rekordne brojke hospitaliziranih pacijenata.

Čelnik jedne bolnice u Louisiani upozorio je da "najmračniji dani" tek dolaze.

Među 97 posto ozbiljnih slučajeva zaraze spadaju necijepljeni ljudi, prema ekipi za covid-19 Bijele kuće.

Rast slučajeva u Aziji

Zemlje u jugoistočnoj Aziji također prijavljuju rast slučajeva. S 8 posto svjetske populacije, regija bilježi gotovo 15 posto svih globalnih dnevnih slučajeva, pokazuje analiza Reutersa.

Indonezija, koja se suočavala s eksponencijalnim rastom slučajeva covida-19 u srpnju, prijavljuje najviše smrtnih slučajeva u prosjeku te je u srijedu prešla brojku od ukupno 100 tisuća mrtvih.

Zemlja bilježi jednu od pet dnevnih smrti od covida-19 u svijetu. Ova južnoazijska nacija planira postupno otvarati svoju ekonomiju u rujnu, otkrio je u ponedjeljak ministar zdravstva, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, navodeći da je val zaraze prošao svoj vrhunac te da su potvrđeni dnevni slučajevi u opadanju.

Nakon što je prošla kroz najgore zarazu u travnju i svibnju, Indija ponovno bilježi uzlazni trend novih slučajeva. Prošli petak, zemlja je prijavila 44.230 novih slučajeva covida-19, najviše u tri tjedna, zbog čega raste zabrinutost od trećeg vala koji je prisilio jednu saveznu državu da uvede karantenu.

Kineski Wuhan, gdje se virus prvi put pojavio krajem 2019. godine, testirat će svojih 12 milijuna stanovnika na koronavirus nakon što su potvrđeni prvi lokalno preneseni slučajevi delta varijante. Grad nije prijavio lokalne slučajeve zaraze od sredine svibnja prošle godine. 

CDC je u internom dokumentu rekao da je delta varijanta, najprije otkrivena u Indiji, zarazna kao vodene kozice i puno zaraznija od obične prehlade ili gripe.

Gregory Poland, znanstvenik za cijepljenje iz klinike Mayo, rekao je da trenutna cjepiva neće okončati zarazu.

- Sada smo u scenariju kojeg smo sami izazvali, a trebat će nam godine ili desetljeća da porazimo pandemiju... Pokušavat ćemo uloviti nove varijante sve dok ne dobijemo tip cjepiva koje nudi blokiranje zaraze. - objasnio je.

Mnoge zemlje se i dalje suočavaju s nedostatkom opreme za testiranje, lijekova i cjepiva, dok delta varijanta opterećuje zdravstvene sustave u siromašnijim zemljama. Bogatije nacije se pozivaju da doniraju više cjepiva kako bi se na globalnoj razini zaustavio rast zaraženih.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) pozvala je na moratorij na davanje booster doza cjepiva protiv covida-19 barem do kraja rujna, rekao je u srijedu njezin direktor Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Time bi se omogućilo da se cijepi najmanje 10 posto stanovnika svake zemlje, naglasio je.

- Razumijem da sve vlade žele zaštititi svoje ljude od delta varijante. Ali ne možemo prihvatiti da zemlje koje su već iskoristile većinu globalno dostupnog cjepiva iskoriste još i više - rekao je.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) traži 11,5 milijardi dolara za borbu s delta varijantom virusa, pokazuje izvješće, uslijed zabrinutosti da bogate zemlje djelomično zaobilaze programe covida-19.

U srijedu je broj slučajeva zaraze koronavirusom u svijetu prešao 200 milijuna, prema podacima Reutersa, dok delta varijanta prijeti područjima s niskom stopom cijepljenja, piše Hina.

Slučajevi rastu u barem 83 od 240 zemalja, prema podacima Reutersa, te opterećuju zdravstvene sustave. 

- Očajnički želimo da ova pandemija bude gotova, no covid-19 očigledno nije gotov s nama. Stoga naša bitka mora potrajati malo duže - rekla je ovaj tjedan Rochelle Walensky, direktorica Američkog centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti. 

Barem 2,6 posto svjetske populacije je dosad bilo zaraženo, s time da su stvarne brojke vjerojatno više, zbog ograničenog testiranja u mnogim područjima.

Bila je potrebna godina dana da slučajevi covida-19 dosegnu 100 milijuna, dok je sljedećih...
