- Ako se pokaže točnim da se koronavirus može rekombinirati (dva virusa stvoriti jedan novi) i na taj način "stvoriti" novi virus, to nikako neće biti dobro, jer će značiti da taj i takav "novi" virus može zaobići stečeni imunitet na koronavirus i da može doći do nove pandemije - kaže nam prof. dr. sc. Zlatko Trobonjača, imunolog sa Sveučilišta u Rijeci.

Naime, znanstvenici su potvrdili postojanje nove varijante koronavirusa koja kombinira mutacije iz omikrona i delte, a slučajevi novootkrivene varijante uočeni su i u Europi i u SAD-u.

Ta nova, hibridna varijanta, neslužbeno nazvana "deltakron", potvrđena je sekvencioniranjem genoma koje su obavili znanstvenici sa sveučilišnog instituta Méditerranée Infection u francuskom Marseilleu, a otkrivena je u nekoliko regija Francuske, stoji u članku objavljenom u bazi podataka medRxiv koji još treba proći recenziju.

Prema međunarodnoj bazi podataka GISAID, slučajevi deltakrona otkriveni su još u Danskoj i u Nizozemskoj.

- Međutim, taj rad o pronalasku "novog" soja nazvanog deltakron još uvijek nije objavljen pa, iskreno, ne mogu sa sigurnošću reći može li se koronavirus rekombinirati, odnosno može li na taj način nastati novi virus. Ja sumnjam da je to moguće. Kod "stvaranja" novog koronavirusa opisan je mehanizam brisanja, umetanja i zamjene nukleotida, ali nikada nije opisana rekombinacija - objašnjava dr. Trobonjača.

Kalifornijska tvrtka za istraživanje genetike "Helix" u odvojenom je istraživanju identificirala dva slučaja deltakrona u Sjedinjenim Državama, a po pisanju Guardiana, oko trideset slučajeva identificirano je i u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu.

Ova nova hibridna varijanta nastala je procesom koji se naziva rekombinacija, što znači da su istodobno dvije varijante virusa zarazile istog pacijenta, razmjenjujući pritom genetski materijal da bi stvorile novo potomstvo.

Znanstvenici kažu da "srž" deltakrona potječe od delta-varijante, dok njezin šiljasti protein - koji omogućuje virusu ulazak u stanice domaćina, potječe od omikrona, stoji u medRxivovu dokumentu.

"Ustanovili smo da se rekombinacija može dogoditi i u ljudi i u životinja s više cirkulirajućih varijanata SARSCoV-2", tvitao je dr. Soumya Swaminathan, glavni znanstvenik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO). Istaknuo je da "sada treba pričekati da se obave precizni eksperimenti koji će utvrditi svojstva ovog virusa".

Vjeruje se da nova varijanta koronavirusa u svijetu kruži od siječnja, navodi GISAID.

Maria von Kerkhove, tehnička voditeljica WHO-a za COVID-19, rekla je da znanstvenici zasad nisu zamijetili nikakve promjene kada je posrijedi težina bolesti u usporedbi s ranijim varijantama koronavirusa, no da su u tijeku brojne znanstvene studije.

"Nažalost, očekujemo i druge rekombinacije jer se virusi tako ponašaju. Oni se s vremenom mijenjaju. Uočili smo vrlo intenzivnu razinu cirkulacije SARS-CoV-2. Zamijetili smo i da ovaj virus može zaraziti životinje, a zatim životinje vraćaju virus ljudima", rekla je Kerkhove.

Znanstvenici se slažu da je varijanta koja kombinira mutacije dviju varijanata koronavirusa "jedna od onih na koje treba paziti".

- Virus gripe se može rekombinirati, pa svaki put kada je svijet imao epidemiju ili pandemiju gripe, odnosno kada bi nastajao neki novi soj, on bi nastajao rekombinacijom dvaju dotadašnjih sojeva. Tako smo imali svinjsku gripu, ptičju gripu, španjolsku gripu. Zasigurno ne bi bilo dobro da i koronavirus može mutirati rekombinacijom, odnosno da dva virusa mijenjaju svoj genome i tvore treći. Bi li taj novi virus bio opasniji od svih prethodnih, teško je sada reći - zaključuje prof. dr. sc. Zlatko Trobonjača.

- Ako se pokaže točnim da se koronavirus može rekombinirati (dva virusa stvoriti jedan novi) i na taj način "stvoriti" novi virus, to nikako neće biti dobro, jer će značiti da taj i takav "novi" virus može zaobići stečeni imunitet na koronavirus i da može doći do nove pandemije - kaže nam prof. dr. sc. Zlatko Trobonjača, imunolog sa Sveučilišta u Rijeci.

Naime, znanstvenici su potvrdili postojanje nove varijante koronavirusa koja kombinira mutacije iz omikrona i delte, a slučajevi novootkrivene varijante uočeni su i u Europi i u SAD-u.

Ta nova, hibridna varijanta, neslužbeno nazvana "deltakron", potvrđena je sekvencioniranjem genoma koje su obavili znanstvenici sa sveučilišnog instituta Méditerranée Infection u francuskom Marseilleu, a otkrivena je u nekoliko regija Francuske, stoji u članku objavljenom u bazi podataka medRxiv koji još treba proći recenziju.

Prema međunarodnoj bazi podataka GISAID, slučajevi deltakrona otkriveni su još u Danskoj i u Nizozemskoj.

- Međutim, taj rad o pronalasku "novog" soja nazvanog deltakron još uvijek nije objavljen pa, iskreno, ne mogu sa sigurnošću reći može li se koronavirus rekombinirati, odnosno može li na taj način nastati novi virus. Ja sumnjam da je to moguće. Kod "stvaranja" novog koronavirusa opisan je mehanizam brisanja, umetanja i zamjene nukleotida, ali nikada nije opisana rekombinacija - objašnjava dr. Trobonjača.

Kalifornijska tvrtka za istraživanje genetike "Helix" u odvojenom je istraživanju identificirala dva slučaja deltakrona u Sjedinjenim Državama, a po pisanju Guardiana, oko trideset slučajeva identificirano je i u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu.

Ova nova hibridna varijanta nastala je procesom koji se naziva rekombinacija, što znači da su istodobno dvije varijante virusa zarazile istog pacijenta, razmjenjujući pritom genetski materijal da bi stvorile novo potomstvo.

Znanstvenici kažu da "srž" deltakrona potječe od delta-varijante, dok njezin šiljasti protein - koji omogućuje virusu ulazak u stanice domaćina, potječe od omikrona, stoji u medRxivovu dokumentu.

"Ustanovili smo da se rekombinacija može dogoditi i u ljudi i u životinja s više cirkulirajućih varijanata SARSCoV-2", tvitao je dr. Soumya Swaminathan, glavni znanstvenik Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO). Istaknuo je da "sada treba pričekati da se obave precizni eksperimenti koji će utvrditi svojstva ovog virusa".

Vjeruje se da nova varijanta koronavirusa u svijetu kruži od siječnja, navodi GISAID.

Maria von Kerkhove, tehnička voditeljica WHO-a za COVID-19, rekla je da znanstvenici zasad nisu zamijetili nikakve promjene kada je posrijedi težina bolesti u usporedbi s ranijim varijantama koronavirusa, no da su u tijeku brojne znanstvene studije.

"Nažalost, očekujemo i druge rekombinacije jer se virusi tako ponašaju. Oni se s vremenom mijenjaju. Uočili smo vrlo intenzivnu razinu cirkulacije SARS-CoV-2. Zamijetili smo i da ovaj virus može zaraziti životinje, a zatim životinje vraćaju virus ljudima", rekla je Kerkhove.

Znanstvenici se slažu da je varijanta koja kombinira mutacije dviju varijanata koronavirusa "jedna od onih na koje treba paziti".

- Virus gripe se može rekombinirati, pa svaki put kada je svijet imao epidemiju ili pandemiju gripe, odnosno kada bi nastajao neki novi soj, on bi nastajao rekombinacijom dvaju dotadašnjih sojeva. Tako smo imali svinjsku gripu, ptičju gripu, španjolsku gripu. Zasigurno ne bi bilo dobro da i koronavirus može mutirati rekombinacijom, odnosno da dva virusa mijenjaju svoj genome i tvore treći. Bi li taj novi virus bio opasniji od svih prethodnih, teško je sada reći - zaključuje prof. dr. sc. Zlatko Trobonjača.
