Za viruse su mutacije karakteristične, tako da niti najnovije varijante koronavirusa nisu neočekivane. U interesu znanstvenih krugova, ali i javnosti općenito, tri su mutacije koje izazivaju posebnu pozornost: britanska, južnoafrička i brazilska. Pozornost izazivaju ponajprije zbog bržeg širenja i visoke zaraznosti. Evo zašto je to tako.

- Mutacije su bile očekivane, ali koronavirus, premda je RNK virus - prilično je velik. Ima 125 nanometara i čak ima mehanizam popravka pogreški prigodom replikacije.

Te se greške uvijek dešavaju kad se virus umnaža u stanici koju inficira. Tako da s obzirom da nema segmentirani genom kao što ima virus gripe, obzirom da ima i mehanizam popravaka, mislili smo da neće biti toliko puno mutacija koje utječu na sposobnost širenja virusa. Međutim, doista nas je iznenadio.

Vrlo je uspješan u mijenjanju svog genoma i u puno bržoj propagaciji, naglašava za HRT prof. Jasmina Vraneš iz NZJZ "Dr. Andrija Štampar“.

Kod nas je potvrđena britanska varijanta korona virusa i ostaje za vidjeti kojom će se dinamikom širiti, dodaje prof. Vranješ.

Sada se svaki uzeti uzorak testira i na nove varijante virusa. Od 200 tisuća obrađenih uzoraka u Nastavnom zavodu Andrija Štampar, polovica je uzeta u takozvanom drive-inu. Najveći broj tako uzetih uzoraka bio je 800, a trenutno se dnevno uzima njih 400 do 500, svakih trideset sekundi obradi se jedan pacijent, kaže dr. Mirjana Šimić.

Općenito, mutacije virusa izazivaju određenu zabrinutost kod stručnjaka jer postoji mogućnost niže učinkovitosti trenutno dostupnih lijekova i cjepiva. Ali i tome se može doskočiti, dodaje dr. Šimić. Više proizvođača lijekova priređuje tzv. 'cluster dozu' kojom ćemo biti cijepljeni. Drugi pak priređuju multivalentna cjepiva koja će sadržavati sve što je potrebno da se stekne imunost na nove varijante, tvrdi.

Cilj je postići procijepljenost od barem 70 posto populacije kako bi se dosegnuo prag kolektivne imunosti. Stručnjaci predviđaju da bismo tek tada mogli početi razmišljati o kraju pandemije.

Za viruse su mutacije karakteristične, tako da niti najnovije varijante koronavirusa nisu neočekivane. U interesu znanstvenih krugova, ali i javnosti općenito, tri su mutacije koje izazivaju posebnu pozornost: britanska, južnoafrička i brazilska. Pozornost izazivaju ponajprije zbog bržeg širenja i visoke zaraznosti. Evo zašto je to tako.

- Mutacije su bile očekivane, ali koronavirus, premda je RNK virus - prilično je velik. Ima 125 nanometara i čak ima mehanizam popravka pogreški prigodom replikacije.

Te se greške uvijek dešavaju kad se virus umnaža u stanici koju inficira. Tako da s obzirom da nema segmentirani genom kao što ima virus gripe, obzirom da ima i mehanizam popravaka, mislili smo da neće biti toliko puno mutacija koje utječu na sposobnost širenja virusa. Međutim, doista nas je iznenadio.

Vrlo je uspješan u mijenjanju svog genoma i u puno bržoj propagaciji, naglašava za HRT prof. Jasmina Vraneš iz NZJZ "Dr. Andrija Štampar“.

Kod nas je potvrđena britanska varijanta korona virusa i ostaje za vidjeti kojom će se dinamikom širiti, dodaje prof. Vranješ.

Sada se svaki uzeti uzorak testira i na nove varijante virusa. Od 200 tisuća obrađenih uzoraka u Nastavnom zavodu Andrija Štampar, polovica je uzeta u takozvanom drive-inu. Najveći broj tako uzetih uzoraka bio je 800, a trenutno se dnevno uzima njih 400 do 500, svakih trideset sekundi obradi se jedan pacijent, kaže dr. Mirjana Šimić.

Općenito, mutacije virusa izazivaju određenu zabrinutost kod stručnjaka jer postoji mogućnost niže učinkovitosti trenutno dostupnih lijekova i cjepiva. Ali i tome se može doskočiti, dodaje dr. Šimić. Više proizvođača lijekova priređuje tzv. 'cluster dozu' kojom ćemo biti cijepljeni. Drugi pak priređuju multivalentna cjepiva koja će sadržavati sve što je potrebno da se stekne imunost na nove varijante, tvrdi.

Cilj je postići procijepljenost od barem 70 posto populacije kako bi se dosegnuo prag kolektivne imunosti. Stručnjaci predviđaju da bismo tek tada mogli početi razmišljati o kraju pandemije.

Stručnjakinja o novim mutacijama koronavirusa: Virus nas je doista iznenadio. Vrlo je uspješan u mijenjanju svog genoma i u puno bržem širenju

Za viruse su mutacije karakteristične, tako da niti najnovije varijante koronavirusa nisu neočekivane. U interesu znanstvenih krugova, ali i javnosti općenito, tri su mutacije koje izazivaju posebnu pozornost: britanska, južnoafrička i brazilska. Pozornost izazivaju ponajprije zbog bržeg širenja i visoke zaraznosti. Evo zašto je to tako.

- Mutacije su bile očekivane, ali koronavirus, premda je RNK virus - prilično je velik. Ima 125 nanometara i čak ima mehanizam popravka pogreški prigodom replikacije.

Te se greške uvijek dešavaju kad se virus umnaža u stanici koju inficira. Tako da s obzirom da nema segmentirani genom kao što ima virus gripe, obzirom da ima i mehanizam popravaka, mislili smo da neće biti toliko puno mutacija koje utječu na sposobnost širenja virusa....
