Vjerojatnost da područje Petrinje i Siska, koje je rano ujutro pogodila serija od tri potresa, zatrese još jedan jače magnitude vrlo je mala. Ispod pet posto, ali nije nula - upozorio je seizmolog Marijan Herak s Geofizičkog odsjeka zagrebačkog Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta. Pritom, dodao je, potresi slabijeg intenziteta mogli bi se na tom području osjećati idućih šest do sedam mjeseci, piše Jutarnji list.

Tako su i prvi snažni potres u ponedjeljak u 6 sati i 28 minuta od 5 stupnjeva po Richteru, koji je zatresao Petrinju i Sisak, a osjetio se i u Zagrebu i okolici, popratila dva slabija podrhtavanja. Jedno u 7 sati i 49 minuta, a drugo u 7 sati i 51 minutu, magnitude 4,7 i 4,1 prema Richteru. Prema preliminarnim izvješćima zagrebačke Seizmološke službe na PMF-u, kako nam je potvrdio seizmolog Tomislav Fiket, potresi su imali hipocentar, odnosno mjesto potresa u Zemljinoj unutrašnjosti ispod epicentra, pet kilometara od Petrinje, u općini Pokupsko, na dubini od oko 10 kilometara.

- To je uobičajena dubina potresa za područje Hrvatske. Da je potres bio plići, bliži površini, šteta bi bila puno veća. Ovako on izgubi na snazi dok se probija prema površini - objasnio je Fiket, inače inženjer fizike i zamjenik rukovoditeljice Seizmološke službe. Dodao je da je potres u epicentru zapravo trajao relativno kratko, samo tri sekunde, kako se može vidjeti na nekim nadzornim snimkama s područja, primjerice onoj iz trgovine autodijelovima u Sisku.

- Mi u Zagrebu smo, recimo, današnje podrhtavanje mogli osjećati kao da traje puno dulje zbog površinskih valova nakon potresa. Ljuljanje se protezalo i do 50-ak kilometara od epicentra. Međutim, za razliku od potresa u ožujku, Zagrepčani sada nisu mogli čuti onaj huk i tutnjavu kada rasjed pukne, to su mogli čuti stanovnici bliži epicentru - objašnjava Fiket.

Međutim, iako bismo olako usporedili zagrebački potres 22. ožujka od 5,5 stupnjeva po Richteru i ovaj današnji kod Petrinje (bila su oba rano ujutro, zagrebački četiri minute ranije, u 6.24 sati, a i oba su popraćena serijom slabijih potresa), profesor Marijan Herak upozorava da ih ne bismo trebali povezivati. Naime, ne postoje dokazi da je zagrebački potres uzrokovao ovaj petrinjski. Prema njemu, između dvaju potresa nekoliko je bitnih razlika. Prvo, riječ je o odvojenim rasjednim sustavima. Zagreb je u zoni medvedničkih rasjeda, a ovaj petrinjski na rasjednom sustavu koji od Jastrebarskog preko Pokupskog nastavlja dalje prema Banjaluci. Na tom je području, kako kaže Herak, i mehanika micanja rasjednih krila (blokova) drugačija.

- U današnjem potresu rasjedna su se krila pomaknula vodoravno jedno uz drugo, primjerice, kao kada trljamo dlanove, a u zagrebačkom se jedan blok ukoso spustio prema drugome. Kakav će točno pokret rasjednih krila biti ovisi o području i o usmjerenosti tektonskih sila - kaže.

Inače, to "pokupsko epicentralno područje" je poznato po svojoj seizmološkoj aktivnosti. Tako je i 1909. godine tamo zatresao potres snage 6 stupnjeva prema Richteru. Herak kaže da to nije bio najjači hrvatski potres, ali svakako najznačajniji jer ga je istraživao naš slavni znanstvenik Andrija Mohorovičić i otkrio na njemu tzv. Mohorovičićev diskontinuitet.

Osim toga, Herak se osvrnuo i na spekulacije koje su se pojavile da je iz tog "pokupskog područja" došao razorni zagrebački potres 1880., što je odbacio kao potpuno netočno jer je taj potres otprije 140 godina, kao i ovaj u ožujku, bio u zoni medvedničkih rasjeda. Ipak, da je pokupski rasjed, koji se proteže do Banjaluke, itekako opasan svjedoči i banjalučki potres iz 1969. Naime, segment toga istog rasjeda tamo je uzrokovao potres magnitude 6,4, koji je tada uzeo 15 života, unesrećio 1117 ljudi i uništio 85.000 stanova.

Vjerojatnost da područje Petrinje i Siska, koje je rano ujutro pogodila serija od tri potresa, zatrese još jedan jače magnitude vrlo je mala. Ispod pet posto, ali nije nula - upozorio je seizmolog Marijan Herak s Geofizičkog odsjeka zagrebačkog Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta. Pritom, dodao je, potresi slabijeg intenziteta mogli bi se na tom području osjećati idućih šest do sedam mjeseci, piše Jutarnji list.

Tako su i prvi snažni potres u ponedjeljak u 6 sati i 28 minuta od 5 stupnjeva po Richteru, koji je zatresao Petrinju i Sisak, a osjetio se i u Zagrebu i okolici, popratila dva slabija podrhtavanja. Jedno u 7 sati i 49 minuta, a drugo u 7 sati i 51 minutu, magnitude 4,7 i 4,1 prema Richteru. Prema preliminarnim izvješćima zagrebačke Seizmološke službe na PMF-u, kako nam je potvrdio seizmolog Tomislav Fiket, potresi su imali hipocentar, odnosno mjesto potresa u Zemljinoj unutrašnjosti ispod epicentra, pet kilometara od Petrinje, u općini Pokupsko, na dubini od oko 10 kilometara.

- To je uobičajena dubina potresa za područje Hrvatske. Da je potres bio plići, bliži površini, šteta bi bila puno veća. Ovako on izgubi na snazi dok se probija prema površini - objasnio je Fiket, inače inženjer fizike i zamjenik rukovoditeljice Seizmološke službe. Dodao je da je potres u epicentru zapravo trajao relativno kratko, samo tri sekunde, kako se može vidjeti na nekim nadzornim snimkama s područja, primjerice onoj iz trgovine autodijelovima u Sisku.

- Mi u Zagrebu smo, recimo, današnje podrhtavanje mogli osjećati kao da traje puno dulje zbog površinskih valova nakon potresa. Ljuljanje se protezalo i do 50-ak kilometara od epicentra. Međutim, za razliku od potresa u ožujku, Zagrepčani sada nisu mogli čuti onaj huk i tutnjavu kada rasjed pukne, to su mogli čuti stanovnici bliži epicentru - objašnjava Fiket.

Međutim, iako bismo olako usporedili zagrebački potres 22. ožujka od 5,5 stupnjeva po Richteru i ovaj današnji kod Petrinje (bila su oba rano ujutro, zagrebački četiri minute ranije, u 6.24 sati, a i oba su popraćena serijom slabijih potresa), profesor Marijan Herak upozorava da ih ne bismo trebali povezivati. Naime, ne postoje dokazi da je zagrebački potres uzrokovao ovaj petrinjski. Prema njemu, između dvaju potresa nekoliko je bitnih razlika. Prvo, riječ je o odvojenim rasjednim sustavima. Zagreb je u zoni medvedničkih rasjeda, a ovaj petrinjski na rasjednom sustavu koji od Jastrebarskog preko Pokupskog nastavlja dalje prema Banjaluci. Na tom je području, kako kaže Herak, i mehanika micanja rasjednih krila (blokova) drugačija.

- U današnjem potresu rasjedna su se krila pomaknula vodoravno jedno uz drugo, primjerice, kao kada trljamo dlanove, a u zagrebačkom se jedan blok ukoso spustio prema drugome. Kakav će točno pokret rasjednih krila biti ovisi o području i o usmjerenosti tektonskih sila - kaže.

Inače, to "pokupsko epicentralno područje" je poznato po svojoj seizmološkoj aktivnosti. Tako je i 1909. godine tamo zatresao potres snage 6 stupnjeva prema Richteru. Herak kaže da to nije bio najjači hrvatski potres, ali svakako najznačajniji jer ga je istraživao naš slavni znanstvenik Andrija Mohorovičić i otkrio na njemu tzv. Mohorovičićev diskontinuitet.

Osim toga, Herak se osvrnuo i na spekulacije koje su se pojavile da je iz tog "pokupskog područja" došao razorni zagrebački potres 1880., što je odbacio kao potpuno netočno jer je taj potres otprije 140 godina, kao i ovaj u ožujku, bio u zoni medvedničkih rasjeda. Ipak, da je pokupski rasjed, koji se proteže do Banjaluke, itekako opasan svjedoči i banjalučki potres iz 1969. Naime, segment toga istog rasjeda tamo je uzrokovao potres magnitude 6,4, koji je tada uzeo 15 života, unesrećio 1117 ljudi i uništio 85.000 stanova.

Vjerojatnost da područje Petrinje i Siska, koje je rano ujutro pogodila serija od tri potresa, zatrese još jedan jače magnitude vrlo je mala. Ispod pet posto, ali nije nula - upozorio je seizmolog Marijan Herak s Geofizičkog odsjeka zagrebačkog Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta. Pritom, dodao je, potresi slabijeg intenziteta mogli bi se na tom području osjećati idućih šest do sedam mjeseci, piše Jutarnji list.

Tako su i prvi snažni potres u ponedjeljak u 6 sati i 28 minuta od 5 stupnjeva po Richteru, koji je zatresao Petrinju i Sisak, a osjetio se i u Zagrebu i okolici, popratila dva slabija podrhtavanja.
