Ponekad kod lijekova može doći do neželjenih nuspojava. Kada to uoče, farmaceuti obavijeste javnost, ponajprije djelatnike u zdravstvenome sustavu.
Johnson&Johnson i Belupo u suradnji s hrvatskom i europskom agencijom za lijekove uputili su pismo zdravstvenim radnicima o novim ograničenjima za sprječavanje izlaganja tijekom trudnoće lijekovima koji sadrže topiramat.
Lijekovi su namijenjeni u liječenju epilepsije i prevenciji migrenskih glavobolja nakon pažljive procjene drugih prikladnih načina liječenja. Belupo taj lijek plasira pod nazivom Tiramat, a Johnson&Johnson pod imenom Topamax.
Ovo je sažetak dokumenta u kojem se objašnjava odluka o povlačenju lijekova:
– Ako se primjenjuje tijekom trudnoće, topiramat može uzrokovati velike kongenitalne malformacije i restrikciju fetalnog rasta. Nedavni podaci također upućuju na potencijalno povišen rizik od neuroloških razvojnih poremećaja, uključujući poremećaje iz spektra autizma, intelektualne poteškoće ili poremećaje pažnje s hiperaktivnošću, nakon primjene topiramata tijekom trudnoće.

– Nove kontraindikacije odnose se na liječenje epilepsije:
– tijekom trudnoće, osim ako ne postoji druga prikladna zamjenska terapija;
– u žena reproduktivne dobi koje ne koriste visoko učinkovitu kontracepciju. Jedina iznimka su žene za koje ne postoji prikladna alternativna terapija i koje planiraju trudnoću te su u potpunosti informirane o rizicima primjene topiramata tijekom trudnoće.Topiramat je već od ranije kontraindiciran za prevenciju migrene u trudnoći i u žena reproduktivne dobi koje ne koriste visoko učinkovitu kontracepciju.

– Liječenje djevojčica i žena reproduktivne dobi mora započeti te ga mora nadzirati liječnik s iskustvom u liječenju epilepsije ili migrene. Potrebu za liječenjem potrebno je ponovo procijeniti najmanje jedanput godišnje.
– Zbog potencijalne interakcije, ženama koje uzimaju sistemske hormonske kontraceptive je također potrebno savjetovati korištenje i mehaničkih metoda kontracepcije.
– U žena reproduktivne dobi koje trenutačno primjenjuju topiramat potrebno je ponovo procijeniti terapiju kako bi se provjerilo pridržavaju li se programa prevencije trudnoće, piše N1.
Za one koji koriste navedene lijekove ili to planiraju najbolje je da o svemu konzultiraju svoga liječnika ili ljekarnika.

Ponekad kod lijekova može doći do neželjenih nuspojava. Kada to uoče, farmaceuti obavijeste javnost, ponajprije djelatnike u zdravstvenome sustavu.
Johnson&Johnson i Belupo u suradnji s hrvatskom i europskom agencijom za lijekove uputili su pismo zdravstvenim radnicima o novim ograničenjima za sprječavanje izlaganja tijekom trudnoće lijekovima koji sadrže topiramat.
Lijekovi su namijenjeni u liječenju epilepsije i prevenciji migrenskih glavobolja nakon pažljive procjene drugih prikladnih načina liječenja. Belupo taj lijek plasira pod nazivom Tiramat, a Johnson&Johnson pod imenom Topamax.
Ovo je sažetak dokumenta u kojem se objašnjava odluka o povlačenju lijekova:
– Ako se primjenjuje tijekom trudnoće, topiramat može uzrokovati velike kongenitalne malformacije i restrikciju fetalnog rasta. Nedavni podaci također upućuju na potencijalno povišen rizik od neuroloških razvojnih poremećaja, uključujući poremećaje iz spektra autizma, intelektualne poteškoće ili poremećaje pažnje s hiperaktivnošću, nakon primjene topiramata tijekom trudnoće.

– Nove kontraindikacije odnose se na liječenje epilepsije:
– tijekom trudnoće, osim ako ne postoji druga prikladna zamjenska terapija;
– u žena reproduktivne dobi koje ne koriste visoko učinkovitu kontracepciju. Jedina iznimka su žene za koje ne postoji prikladna alternativna terapija i koje planiraju trudnoću te su u potpunosti informirane o rizicima primjene topiramata tijekom trudnoće.Topiramat je već od ranije kontraindiciran za prevenciju migrene u trudnoći i u žena reproduktivne dobi koje ne koriste visoko učinkovitu kontracepciju.

– Liječenje djevojčica i žena reproduktivne dobi mora započeti te ga mora nadzirati liječnik s iskustvom u liječenju epilepsije ili migrene. Potrebu za liječenjem potrebno je ponovo procijeniti najmanje jedanput godišnje.
– Zbog potencijalne interakcije, ženama koje uzimaju sistemske hormonske kontraceptive je također potrebno savjetovati korištenje i mehaničkih metoda kontracepcije.
– U žena reproduktivne dobi koje trenutačno primjenjuju topiramat potrebno je ponovo procijeniti terapiju kako bi se provjerilo pridržavaju li se programa prevencije trudnoće, piše N1.
Za one koji koriste navedene lijekove ili to planiraju najbolje je da o svemu konzultiraju svoga liječnika ili ljekarnika.
