Znanstveni tim Laboratorija za naprednu genomiku Instituta Ruđer Bošković (IRB), pod vodstvom dr.sc. Olivera Vugreka, identificirao je prisutnost mutacije brazilskog soja u Hrvatskoj. Od ukupno 50 analiziranih uzoraka, u jednom uzorku potvrđena je mutacija u proteinu šiljku (spike) na položaju E484K koji je utvrđen kod brazilskog soja koronavirusa, odnosno varijanti B.1.1.28, priopćili su u četvrtak, piše N1.

Ovi uzorci su prikupljeni i analizirani tijekom prosinca 2020., te siječnja i veljače 2021. godine. Uzorke je prikupila Poliklinika Medikol u sklopu PCR testiranja koje ova poliklinika od prosinca 2020. nudi građanima, a čijom su privolom ti isti uzorci analizirani na Institutu Ruđer Bošković (IRB). Prikupljeni su uzorci iz tri hrvatska grada – Zagreba, Čakovca i Osijeka, a brazilski soj potvrđen je na uzorku iz Zagreba, koji je uzorkovan 30. siječnja 2021.

Povrh toga uz brazilski soj, u analiziranim uzorcima nije potvrđena prisutnost mutacije u protein šiljku na položaju N501Y, odnosno prisutnost tzv. britanskog soja B1.1.7.

”Mutacija E484K sama po sebi nije nova varijanta, ona je mutacija koja se javlja u različitim sojevima virusa SARS-CoV-2, primjerice u južnoafričkoj (B.1.351) i te brazilskoj (B.1.1.28) varijanti,” objašnjava dr. sc. Oliver Vugrek, voditelj istraživanja i Laboratorija za naprednu genomiku IRB-a koji je prvi utvrdio postojanje tzv. brazilskog soja u Hrvatskoj.

Ovi rezultati potvrđuju ključnu činjenicu, a to je da saznanje o tome je li određena osoba pozitivna ili negativna nije dovoljno, ako želimo pratiti kako se virus mijenja unutar istog domaćina te, ako želimo uspješno odgovoriti na izazove koje pred nas postavlja virus SARS-CoV-2.

Naime, prema dostupnim podacima, trenutno je identificirano 11 slučajeva UK verzije B1.1.7 koja nosi mutaciju protein šiljka na mjestu E484K, i to oko područja Bristola i 40 slučajeva originalnog virusa SARS-CoV-2 koji nose istu mutaciju E484K na području Liverpoola. Međutim, nije poznata učestalost tzv. brazilske varijante u ostalim europskim zemljama. Stoga je izuzetno važno za javno zdravstvo pratiti genetiku i novo stjecane sposobnosti virusa SARS-CoV-2.

”Upravo zahvaljujući informacijama koje nam otkriva praćenje genetike, odnosno mutacija virusa i njegovog ponašanja, stručnjaci mogu ustanoviti zašto se u određenom trenutku virus pojačano ili slabije širi među populacijom, te zašto i kako dolazi do razvoja blažih ili težih oblika bolesti kod ljudi.

Povrh toga, tako je moguće pratiti ima li određeni soj sposobnost izbjeći otkrivanju specifičnim dijagnostičkim testovima, te utvrditi ima li određeni soj virusa sposobnost razviti smanjenu osjetljivost na terapiju. Također, praćenje genetike koronavirusa omogućava nam da dobijemo vrijedne informacije o djelovanju i trajnosti prirodnog imuniteta ili imuniteta stečenog cijepljenjem. Dakle, sve su nam te informacije ključne kako bi se mogli uspješno boriti s koronavirusom i zato trebamo što više sekvencionirati,” objašnjava dr. sc. Oliver Vugrek.

Znanstveni tim Laboratorija za naprednu genomiku Instituta Ruđer Bošković (IRB), pod vodstvom dr.sc. Olivera Vugreka, identificirao je prisutnost mutacije brazilskog soja u Hrvatskoj. Od ukupno 50 analiziranih uzoraka, u jednom uzorku potvrđena je mutacija u proteinu šiljku (spike) na položaju E484K koji je utvrđen kod brazilskog soja koronavirusa, odnosno varijanti B.1.1.28, priopćili su u četvrtak, piše N1.

Ovi uzorci su prikupljeni i analizirani tijekom prosinca 2020., te siječnja i veljače 2021. godine. Uzorke je prikupila Poliklinika Medikol u sklopu PCR testiranja koje ova poliklinika od prosinca 2020. nudi građanima, a čijom su privolom ti isti uzorci analizirani na Institutu Ruđer Bošković (IRB). Prikupljeni su uzorci iz tri hrvatska grada – Zagreba, Čakovca i Osijeka, a brazilski soj potvrđen je na uzorku iz Zagreba, koji je uzorkovan 30. siječnja 2021.

Povrh toga uz brazilski soj, u analiziranim uzorcima nije potvrđena prisutnost mutacije u protein šiljku na položaju N501Y, odnosno prisutnost tzv. britanskog soja B1.1.7.

”Mutacija E484K sama po sebi nije nova varijanta, ona je mutacija koja se javlja u različitim sojevima virusa SARS-CoV-2, primjerice u južnoafričkoj (B.1.351) i te brazilskoj (B.1.1.28) varijanti,” objašnjava dr. sc. Oliver Vugrek, voditelj istraživanja i Laboratorija za naprednu genomiku IRB-a koji je prvi utvrdio postojanje tzv. brazilskog soja u Hrvatskoj.

Ovi rezultati potvrđuju ključnu činjenicu, a to je da saznanje o tome je li određena osoba pozitivna ili negativna nije dovoljno, ako želimo pratiti kako se virus mijenja unutar istog domaćina te, ako želimo uspješno odgovoriti na izazove koje pred nas postavlja virus SARS-CoV-2.

Naime, prema dostupnim podacima, trenutno je identificirano 11 slučajeva UK verzije B1.1.7 koja nosi mutaciju protein šiljka na mjestu E484K, i to oko područja Bristola i 40 slučajeva originalnog virusa SARS-CoV-2 koji nose istu mutaciju E484K na području Liverpoola. Međutim, nije poznata učestalost tzv. brazilske varijante u ostalim europskim zemljama. Stoga je izuzetno važno za javno zdravstvo pratiti genetiku i novo stjecane sposobnosti virusa SARS-CoV-2.

”Upravo zahvaljujući informacijama koje nam otkriva praćenje genetike, odnosno mutacija virusa i njegovog ponašanja, stručnjaci mogu ustanoviti zašto se u određenom trenutku virus pojačano ili slabije širi među populacijom, te zašto i kako dolazi do razvoja blažih ili težih oblika bolesti kod ljudi.

Povrh toga, tako je moguće pratiti ima li određeni soj sposobnost izbjeći otkrivanju specifičnim dijagnostičkim testovima, te utvrditi ima li određeni soj virusa sposobnost razviti smanjenu osjetljivost na terapiju. Također, praćenje genetike koronavirusa omogućava nam da dobijemo vrijedne informacije o djelovanju i trajnosti prirodnog imuniteta ili imuniteta stečenog cijepljenjem. Dakle, sve su nam te informacije ključne kako bi se mogli uspješno boriti s koronavirusom i zato trebamo što više sekvencionirati,” objašnjava dr. sc. Oliver Vugrek.

Brazilski soj koronavirusa pronađen na uzorku u Hrvatskoj? Znanstvenici s Instituta Ruđer Bošković identificirali mutaciju

Znanstveni tim Laboratorija za naprednu genomiku Instituta Ruđer Bošković (IRB), pod vodstvom dr.sc. Olivera Vugreka, identificirao je prisutnost mutacije brazilskog soja u Hrvatskoj. Od ukupno 50 analiziranih uzoraka, u jednom uzorku potvrđena je mutacija u proteinu šiljku (spike) na položaju E484K koji je utvrđen kod brazilskog soja koronavirusa, odnosno varijanti B.1.1.28, priopćili su u četvrtak, piše N1.

Ovi uzorci su prikupljeni i analizirani tijekom prosinca 2020., te siječnja i veljače 2021. godine. Uzorke je prikupila Poliklinika Medikol u sklopu PCR testiranja koje ova poliklinika od prosinca 2020. nudi građanima, a čijom su privolom ti isti uzorci analizirani na Institutu Ruđer Bošković (IRB). Prikupljeni su uzorci iz tri hrvatska grada – Zagreba, Čakovca i Osijeka, ...
