Diego Maradona potpisao je u četvrtak ugovor s argentinskim klubom Gimnasia y Esgrima i time se vratio raditi u svoju domovinu prvi put nakon 2010. godine.

"Zvijezda svjetskog nogometa Diego Armando Maradona potpisao je ugovor i novi je trener Gimnasie", kratko je objavio klub dodajući da dogovor s Maradonom vrijedi do kraja tekuće sezone.

Legendarni Maradona, jedan od najvećih nogometaša u povijesti, zadnji trenerski posao obavljao je u Meksiku, gdje je vodio drugoligaša Dorados iz Sinaloa kroz dva neuspješna nastupa u playoffu. Dao je ostavku u lipnju zbog odlaska na operacije koljena i ramena.

Njegova nova ekipa je iz grada La Plate u blizini Buenos Airesa. Gimnasia y Esgrima osnovana je 1887. godine i tvrdi da je najstariji profesionalni nogometni klub u Americi.

Osvojili su jedan naslov prvaka Argentine, još 1929. godine, te natjecanje prvoligaša Copa Centenario 1993. godine. Trenutno su na dnu tablice Prve lige, sa samo jednim bodom iz pet utakmica.

Maradonin povratak očekuje se s nestrpljenjem, a ushićeni navijači Gimnasie pojavili su se u četvrtak u klubu kako bi ga dočekali.

Time se najpoznatiji Argentinac vraća raditi u domovinu prvi put nakon gotovo deset godina, nakon odlaska s kormila reprezentacije, koju je vodio između 2008. i 2010. godine, zbog neuspjeha na Svjetskom prvenstvu u Južnoj Africi. 

Sada 58-godišnji Maradona vodio je kao igrač Argentinu u osvajanje Svjetskog prvenstva 1986. godine, ali nakon završetka igračke karijere često je boravio u bolnicama, ponajviše zbog svog ekstravagantnog načina života.

Primljen je u bolnicu 2004. godine s teškim srčanim i respiratornim problemima zbog konzumacije kokaina. Kasnije je bio podvrgnut rehabilitaciji na Kubi i u Argentini, prije nego što mu je operacija na želucu 2005. godine pomogla da smršavi.

Diego Maradona potpisao je u četvrtak ugovor s argentinskim klubom Gimnasia y Esgrima i time se vratio raditi u svoju domovinu prvi put nakon 2010. godine.

"Zvijezda svjetskog nogometa Diego Armando Maradona potpisao je ugovor i novi je trener Gimnasie", kratko je objavio klub dodajući da dogovor s Maradonom vrijedi do kraja tekuće sezone.

Legendarni Maradona, jedan od najvećih nogometaša u povijesti, zadnji trenerski posao obavljao je u Meksiku, gdje je vodio drugoligaša Dorados iz Sinaloa kroz dva neuspješna nastupa u playoffu. Dao je ostavku u lipnju zbog odlaska na operacije koljena i ramena.

Njegova nova ekipa je iz grada La Plate u blizini Buenos Airesa. Gimnasia y Esgrima osnovana je 1887. godine i tvrdi da je najstariji profesionalni nogometni klub u Americi.

Osvojili su jedan naslov prvaka Argentine, još 1929. godine, te natjecanje prvoligaša Copa Centenario 1993. godine. Trenutno su na dnu tablice Prve lige, sa samo jednim bodom iz pet utakmica.

Maradonin povratak očekuje se s nestrpljenjem, a ushićeni navijači Gimnasie pojavili su se u četvrtak u klubu kako bi ga dočekali.

Time se najpoznatiji Argentinac vraća raditi u domovinu prvi put nakon gotovo deset godina, nakon odlaska s kormila reprezentacije, koju je vodio između 2008. i 2010. godine, zbog neuspjeha na Svjetskom prvenstvu u Južnoj Africi. 

Sada 58-godišnji Maradona vodio je kao igrač Argentinu u osvajanje Svjetskog prvenstva 1986. godine, ali nakon završetka igračke karijere često je boravio u bolnicama, ponajviše zbog svog ekstravagantnog načina života.

Primljen je u bolnicu 2004. godine s teškim srčanim i respiratornim problemima zbog konzumacije kokaina. Kasnije je bio podvrgnut rehabilitaciji na Kubi i u Argentini, prije nego što mu je operacija na želucu 2005. godine pomogla da smršavi.
