Zdravstvena komisija Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora (HOO) smatra da strah koji je nastao zbog Zika virusa ne odgovara trenutnom stanju te da ne postoji razlog da sportaši ne otputuju na Olimpijske igre u Rio de Janeiro.

"Razumljiv je veliki javni interes, naročito sportske javnosti, za ovaj virus kada se uzme u obzir da ga Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija trenutno tretira kao eksplozivnu epidemiju u Americi i na Karibima, pa tako i u Brazilu, domaćinu sljedećih Olimpijskih igara.

Ipak, strah koji je nastao ne odgovara trenutnom stanju i ne postoji razlog da sportaši, naravno uz adekvatne mjere, ne otputuju na Olimpijske igre u Rio", izjavio je predsjednik Zdravstvene komisije HOO-a prof. dr. sc. . Boris Labar na sastanku s predstavnicima nacionalnih sportskih saveza čiji sportaši putuju na OI u Rio.

Na sastanku je prof. Labar pojasnio da se radi o tropskom virusu iz roda Flavivirus izoliranom još 1947. godine, a prve veće epidemije zabilježene su u Mikroneziji 2007. godine te 2013. u Francuskoj Polineziji. Infekcija se prenosi ubodom zaraženog komarca iz roda Aedes, a zabilježeni su i slučajevi prenošenja s osobe na osobu.

Simptomi poput vrućice, kožnog osipa, bola u malim zglobovima ruku i nogu javljaju se 2 do 12 dana nakon uboda. Liječenje je simptomatično, a bolest završava poput gripe. Ne postoji cjepivo za Zika virus. Prevencija je u područjima pogođenim zarazom moguća, između ostalog, kroz zaštitu od uboda komaraca, uklanjanje mjesta njihova razmnožavanja te, uzimajući u obzir novije slučajeve prenošenja virusa, apstinencijom od spolnih odnosa.

Posebnu pozornost Zika virus izaziva zbog sumnje da uzrokuje komplikacije u trudnoći, jer je u Brazilu zabilježeno oko 4000 slučajeva mikrocefalije kod novorođenčadi čije su majke bile zaražene. U posljednje se vrijeme i Guillain-Barré sindrom dovodi u vezu sa Zika virusom.

"Slično kao što to čine i mnogi drugi nacionalni olimpijski odbori i HOO će kroz svoju Zdravstvenu komisiju poduzeti sve potrebne mjere za prevenciju. To uključuje preporuke nacionalnim sportskim savezima i sportašima u slučajevima boravka u Brazilu, kontakta sa zaraženim osobama i trudnoće. 

Posebne će se preporuke izdati za boravak u Brazilu tijekom Olimpijskih igara u čijoj će izradi će sudjelovati i  voditeljica Referentnog centra Ministarstva zdravlja RH za tropsku medicinu i bolesti putnika prof.dr.sc. Davorka Lukas", rekao je prof. Labar naglašavajući da je razlog sastanka članova Zdravststvene komisije HOO-a s predstavnicima nacionalnih sportskih saveza napisi u medijima koji su izazvali zabrinutost kod mnogih sportaša i dužnosnika, a čemu je doprinio i Američki olimpijski odbor savjetujući svoje sportaše da zbog virusa koji se brzo širi u Brazilu razmisle o odustajanju od nastupa na Olimpijskim igrama u Riju u kolovozu ove godine.

Zdravstvena komisija Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora (HOO) smatra da strah koji je nastao zbog Zika virusa ne odgovara trenutnom stanju te da ne postoji razlog da sportaši ne otputuju na Olimpijske igre u Rio de Janeiro.

"Razumljiv je veliki javni interes, naročito sportske javnosti, za ovaj virus kada se uzme u obzir da ga Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija trenutno tretira kao eksplozivnu epidemiju u Americi i na Karibima, pa tako i u Brazilu, domaćinu sljedećih Olimpijskih igara.

Ipak, strah koji je nastao ne odgovara trenutnom stanju i ne postoji razlog da sportaši, naravno uz adekvatne mjere, ne otputuju na Olimpijske igre u Rio", izjavio je predsjednik Zdravstvene komisije HOO-a prof. dr. sc. . Boris Labar na sastanku s predstavnicima nacionalnih sportskih saveza čiji sportaši putuju na OI u Rio.

Na sastanku je prof. Labar pojasnio da se radi o tropskom virusu iz roda Flavivirus izoliranom još 1947. godine, a prve veće epidemije zabilježene su u Mikroneziji 2007. godine te 2013. u Francuskoj Polineziji. Infekcija se prenosi ubodom zaraženog komarca iz roda Aedes, a zabilježeni su i slučajevi prenošenja s osobe na osobu.

Simptomi poput vrućice, kožnog osipa, bola u malim zglobovima ruku i nogu javljaju se 2 do 12 dana nakon uboda. Liječenje je simptomatično, a bolest završava poput gripe. Ne postoji cjepivo za Zika virus. Prevencija je u područjima pogođenim zarazom moguća, između ostalog, kroz zaštitu od uboda komaraca, uklanjanje mjesta njihova razmnožavanja te, uzimajući u obzir novije slučajeve prenošenja virusa, apstinencijom od spolnih odnosa.

Posebnu pozornost Zika virus izaziva zbog sumnje da uzrokuje komplikacije u trudnoći, jer je u Brazilu zabilježeno oko 4000 slučajeva mikrocefalije kod novorođenčadi čije su majke bile zaražene. U posljednje se vrijeme i Guillain-Barré sindrom dovodi u vezu sa Zika virusom.

"Slično kao što to čine i mnogi drugi nacionalni olimpijski odbori i HOO će kroz svoju Zdravstvenu komisiju poduzeti sve potrebne mjere za prevenciju. To uključuje preporuke nacionalnim sportskim savezima i sportašima u slučajevima boravka u Brazilu, kontakta sa zaraženim osobama i trudnoće. 

Posebne će se preporuke izdati za boravak u Brazilu tijekom Olimpijskih igara u čijoj će izradi će sudjelovati i  voditeljica Referentnog centra Ministarstva zdravlja RH za tropsku medicinu i bolesti putnika prof.dr.sc. Davorka Lukas", rekao je prof. Labar naglašavajući da je razlog sastanka članova Zdravststvene komisije HOO-a s predstavnicima nacionalnih sportskih saveza napisi u medijima koji su izazvali zabrinutost kod mnogih sportaša i dužnosnika, a čemu je doprinio i Američki olimpijski odbor savjetujući svoje sportaše da zbog virusa koji se brzo širi u Brazilu razmisle o odustajanju od nastupa na Olimpijskim igrama u Riju u kolovozu ove godine.
