Finalisti ovogodišnjeg doigravanja najjače hokejaške lige na svijetu NHL Dallas Starsi promovirali su dosadašnjeg vršitelja dužnosti glavnog trenera Ricka Bownessa (65) za svog stalnog šefa struke.

Bowness je preuzeo dužnost glavnog trenera Starsa 10. prosinca prošle godine nakon što je otpušten Jim Montgomery zbog "neprofesionalnog ponašanja".

Dotadašnji pomoćnik Bowness je u 38 utakmica na klupi ostvario 20 pobjeda, 13 poraza i pet poraza u produžetku ili nakon kaznenih udaraca, da bi u doigravanju u Edmontonu ljetos redom izbacivao favorizirane Calgary Flamese (4-2), Colorado Avalanche (4-2) te Vegas Golden Knightse (4-1). Ipak, u finalu doigravanja sa 4-2 u pobjedama uspješniji je bio Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ovo je bio prvi ulazak u finale doigravanja za Starse nakon punih 20 godina.

Bowness je iskusni trener koji radi u Starsima od 2018. godine, a iako je veći dio karijere proveo kao pomoćnik dosada je vodio 501 utakmicu kao glavni trener u NHL, u sezoni 1988/89. proveo je 28 utakmica na klupi Winnipeg Jetsa, sezonu 1991/92. je proveo kao glavni trener Boston Bruinsa, a potom je još vodio Ottawa Senatorse (1992-96), New York Islanderse (1996-98) i Phoenix Coyotese (20 utakmica u sezoni 2003-04).

Finalisti ovogodišnjeg doigravanja najjače hokejaške lige na svijetu NHL Dallas Starsi promovirali su dosadašnjeg vršitelja dužnosti glavnog trenera Ricka Bownessa (65) za svog stalnog šefa struke.

Bowness je preuzeo dužnost glavnog trenera Starsa 10. prosinca prošle godine nakon što je otpušten Jim Montgomery zbog "neprofesionalnog ponašanja".

Dotadašnji pomoćnik Bowness je u 38 utakmica na klupi ostvario 20 pobjeda, 13 poraza i pet poraza u produžetku ili nakon kaznenih udaraca, da bi u doigravanju u Edmontonu ljetos redom izbacivao favorizirane Calgary Flamese (4-2), Colorado Avalanche (4-2) te Vegas Golden Knightse (4-1). Ipak, u finalu doigravanja sa 4-2 u pobjedama uspješniji je bio Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ovo je bio prvi ulazak u finale doigravanja za Starse nakon punih 20 godina.

Bowness je iskusni trener koji radi u Starsima od 2018. godine, a iako je veći dio karijere proveo kao pomoćnik dosada je vodio 501 utakmicu kao glavni trener u NHL, u sezoni 1988/89. proveo je 28 utakmica na klupi Winnipeg Jetsa, sezonu 1991/92. je proveo kao glavni trener Boston Bruinsa, a potom je još vodio Ottawa Senatorse (1992-96), New York Islanderse (1996-98) i Phoenix Coyotese (20 utakmica u sezoni 2003-04).

Finalisti ovogodišnjeg doigravanja najjače hokejaške lige na svijetu NHL Dallas Starsi promovirali su dosadašnjeg vršitelja dužnosti glavnog trenera Ricka Bownessa (65) za svog stalnog šefa struke.

Bowness je preuzeo dužnost glavnog trenera Starsa 10. prosinca prošle godine nakon što je otpušten Jim Montgomery zbog "neprofesionalnog ponašanja".

Dotadašnji pomoćnik Bowness je u 38 utakmica na klupi ostvario 20 pobjeda, 13 poraza i pet poraza u produžetku ili nakon kaznenih udaraca, da bi u doigravanju u Edmontonu ljetos redom izbacivao favorizirane Calgary Flamese (4-2), Colorado Avalanche (4-2) te Vegas Golden Knightse (4-1).
