Direktor biciklističke utrke "Giro d'Italia" Mauro Vegni bio je izrazito nezadovoljan time što je zbog prosvjeda vozača u petak ujutro morao prepoloviti dužinu 19. etape te je najavio kako će "netko platiri zbog toga", a da će, kada sazna sve pojedinosti koje su dovele do skraćivanja etape, posla vjerojatno imati i odvjetnici.

Prema prvotnom planu, 19. etapa se trebala voziti od Morbegna do Astija u dužini od 258 kilometara, no nezadovoljstvo nekih vozača koji su bili zabrinuti da bi tako dugačka etapa mogla negativno utjecati na njihov imunološki sustav i tako ih još više izložila mogućoj zarazi koronavirusom u kombinaciji s vrlo lošim vremenom, tijekom jutra je u Morbegnu padala jaka kiša, dovela je do odluke o kraćenju etape. 

Organizatori su uz velike logističke napore uspjeli organizirati start u Abbetigrassu, praktički na polovici originalne rute, odakle je etapa startala u 14.30 sati, pa će biciklisti do Astija odvesti 124.5 kilometra.

Po svemu sudeći, vozači nekih momčadi već su u četvrtak navečer počeli lobirati za skraćivanje dugačke ravničarske etape pred sam kraj utrke, a takvo saznanje se posebice nije svidjelo Vegniju.

- Za sastanak na kojem se tražilo skraćivanje etape saznao sam samo sat vremena prije predviđenog starta u Morbegnu. Vrlo sam ljut zbog toga jer je to pokazatelj nedostatka poštovanja prema utrci. Svi mi u organizaciji smo ostvarili nevjerojatan napor da dovedemo utrku do kraja, a zbog ove situacije netko će platiti. Kad saznam sve pojedinosti, moguće je da će posla imati i odvjetnici - bjesnio je Vegni.

Vegnijeve riječi u suprotnosti su s objavom jednog od najiskusnijih vozača na "Giru" Adama Hansena koji je putem twittera napisao kako su vozači zatražili skraćivanje etape u četvrtak navečer te je do prosvjeda došlo jer je njihov zahtjev odbijen.

- Jutros, kada su svi vozači bili u šatoru na startu, nitko nije želio izaći na startnu liniju i to je bio početak prosvjeda. Bilo je lijepo vidjeti vozače tako ujedinjene - napisao je Hansen. 

Iz Udruge profesionalnih biciklista (PCA) izdali su kratko priopćenje u kojem navode kako skraćivanje 19. etape neće imati utjecaja na spektakl koji će ona ponuditi, a njime će se sačuvati zdravlje vozača.

Direktor biciklističke utrke "Giro d'Italia" Mauro Vegni bio je izrazito nezadovoljan time što je zbog prosvjeda vozača u petak ujutro morao prepoloviti dužinu 19. etape te je najavio kako će "netko platiri zbog toga", a da će, kada sazna sve pojedinosti koje su dovele do skraćivanja etape, posla vjerojatno imati i odvjetnici.

Prema prvotnom planu, 19. etapa se trebala voziti od Morbegna do Astija u dužini od 258 kilometara, no nezadovoljstvo nekih vozača koji su bili zabrinuti da bi tako dugačka etapa mogla negativno utjecati na njihov imunološki sustav i tako ih još više izložila mogućoj zarazi koronavirusom u kombinaciji s vrlo lošim vremenom, tijekom jutra je u Morbegnu padala jaka kiša, dovela je do odluke o kraćenju etape. 

Organizatori su uz velike logističke napore uspjeli organizirati start u Abbetigrassu, praktički na polovici originalne rute, odakle je etapa startala u 14.30 sati, pa će biciklisti do Astija odvesti 124.5 kilometra.

Po svemu sudeći, vozači nekih momčadi već su u četvrtak navečer počeli lobirati za skraćivanje dugačke ravničarske etape pred sam kraj utrke, a takvo saznanje se posebice nije svidjelo Vegniju.

- Za sastanak na kojem se tražilo skraćivanje etape saznao sam samo sat vremena prije predviđenog starta u Morbegnu. Vrlo sam ljut zbog toga jer je to pokazatelj nedostatka poštovanja prema utrci. Svi mi u organizaciji smo ostvarili nevjerojatan napor da dovedemo utrku do kraja, a zbog ove situacije netko će platiti. Kad saznam sve pojedinosti, moguće je da će posla imati i odvjetnici - bjesnio je Vegni.

Vegnijeve riječi u suprotnosti su s objavom jednog od najiskusnijih vozača na "Giru" Adama Hansena koji je putem twittera napisao kako su vozači zatražili skraćivanje etape u četvrtak navečer te je do prosvjeda došlo jer je njihov zahtjev odbijen.

- Jutros, kada su svi vozači bili u šatoru na startu, nitko nije želio izaći na startnu liniju i to je bio početak prosvjeda. Bilo je lijepo vidjeti vozače tako ujedinjene - napisao je Hansen. 

Iz Udruge profesionalnih biciklista (PCA) izdali su kratko priopćenje u kojem navode kako skraćivanje 19. etape neće imati utjecaja na spektakl koji će ona ponuditi, a njime će se sačuvati zdravlje vozača.

Direktor biciklističke utrke "Giro d'Italia" Mauro Vegni bio je izrazito nezadovoljan time što je zbog prosvjeda vozača u petak ujutro morao prepoloviti dužinu 19. etape te je najavio kako će "netko platiri zbog toga", a da će, kada sazna sve pojedinosti koje su dovele do skraćivanja etape, posla vjerojatno imati i odvjetnici.

Prema prvotnom planu, 19. etapa se trebala voziti od Morbegna do Astija u dužini od 258 kilometara, no nezadovoljstvo nekih vozača koji su bili zabrinuti da bi tako dugačka etapa mogla negativno utjecati na njihov imunološki sustav i tako ih još više izložila mogućoj zarazi koronavirusom u kombinaciji s vrlo lošim vremenom, tijekom jutra je u Morbegnu padala jaka kiša, dovela je do odluke o kraćenju etape.
