Bivša europska prvakinja na 800 metara Britanka Lynsey Sharp (28) dobila je prijetnje smrću zbog svojih komenatara o južnoafričkoj atletičarki Caster Semenyji.
Sharp je dobila prijetnje nakon komentara o 'prednostima' dvostruke olimpijske pobjednice na 800 metara.
- Dobila sam prijetnje smrću, a prijetili su i mojoj obitelji. To nije situacija u kojoj želim biti - kazala je 28-godišnja škotska atletičarka.
Europska prvakinja iz 2012. godine nedavno je kritizirala zakonske reforme koje omogućuju trkačima da izbjegnu sredstva za suzbijanje testosterona.
- Svatko može vidjeti dvije odvojene utrke, tako da ne mogu ništa učiniti - rekla je ranije ovog ljeta tvrdivši kako je to nepravedna prednost.
- Radila sam disertaciju na sveučilištu, tako da znam mnogo o toj temi. Ali sada nije vrijeme da se upuštam u sve to. Ne mogu ništa učiniti u vezi s tim - kazala je Sharp.
Poručila je kako Semenyju poznaje od 2008. godine.
- Poznajem Caster od 2008. godine i to je nešto s čim sam upoznata u proteklih 11 godina. Nitko nema koristi od ove situacije, ali nisam ja protiv nje - dodala je Britanka koja je diplomirala pravo na Napier sveučilištu u Edinburghu.
Prvog svibnja je Sud za sportsku arbitražu (CAS) odbacio žalbu južnoafričke atletičarke koja je tražila odgodu primjene odluke Međunarodne atletske federacije (IAAF) o limitiranju razine testosterona kod osoba koje se žele natjecati u ženskoj konkurenciji te će novi pravilnik IAAF-a stupiti na snagu 8. svibnja.
CAS je presudio da je uvođenje ovog pravilnika potrebno kako bi se osigurali ravnopravni uvjeti za natjecateljice u trkačkim disciplinama od 400 do 1500 metara.
Dvostruka olimpijska pobjednica na 800 metara i trostruka svjetska prvakinja u istoj disciplini bila je, očekivano razočarana odlukom CAS-a.
- Znam da su propisi IAAF-a uvijek bili usmjereni na mene", poručila je tada Semenya.
"Već desetljeće IAAF me pokušava usporiti, ali to me čini jačom. Odluka CAS-a neće me zadržati," poručila je.
Zaključno s 8. svibnja sve osobe koje imaju problem poput Semenye morat će biti testirane kako bi se utvrdilo zadovoljavaju li postavljeni kriterij.
Pravilnik nije vrijedio za miting Dijamantne lige koji je bio na rasporedu u petak u Dohi na kojem je Semenya ostvarila 30. uzastopnu pobjedu u ovoj disciplini s rezultatom 1:54.98, dok je Sharp zauzela deveto mjesto istrčavši vrijeme 2:01.51.

Bivša europska prvakinja na 800 metara Britanka Lynsey Sharp (28) dobila je prijetnje smrću zbog svojih komenatara o južnoafričkoj atletičarki Caster Semenyji.
Sharp je dobila prijetnje nakon komentara o 'prednostima' dvostruke olimpijske pobjednice na 800 metara.
- Dobila sam prijetnje smrću, a prijetili su i mojoj obitelji. To nije situacija u kojoj želim biti - kazala je 28-godišnja škotska atletičarka.
Europska prvakinja iz 2012. godine nedavno je kritizirala zakonske reforme koje omogućuju trkačima da izbjegnu sredstva za suzbijanje testosterona.
- Svatko može vidjeti dvije odvojene utrke, tako da ne mogu ništa učiniti - rekla je ranije ovog ljeta tvrdivši kako je to nepravedna prednost.
- Radila sam disertaciju na sveučilištu, tako da znam mnogo o toj temi. Ali sada nije vrijeme da se upuštam u sve to. Ne mogu ništa učiniti u vezi s tim - kazala je Sharp.
Poručila je kako Semenyju poznaje od 2008. godine.
- Poznajem Caster od 2008. godine i to je nešto s čim sam upoznata u proteklih 11 godina. Nitko nema koristi od ove situacije, ali nisam ja protiv nje - dodala je Britanka koja je diplomirala pravo na Napier sveučilištu u Edinburghu.
Prvog svibnja je Sud za sportsku arbitražu (CAS) odbacio žalbu južnoafričke atletičarke koja je tražila odgodu primjene odluke Međunarodne atletske federacije (IAAF) o limitiranju razine testosterona kod osoba koje se žele natjecati u ženskoj konkurenciji te će novi pravilnik IAAF-a stupiti na snagu 8. svibnja.
CAS je presudio da je uvođenje ovog pravilnika potrebno kako bi se osigurali ravnopravni uvjeti za natjecateljice u trkačkim disciplinama od 400 do 1500 metara.
Dvostruka olimpijska pobjednica na 800 metara i trostruka svjetska prvakinja u istoj disciplini bila je, očekivano razočarana odlukom CAS-a.
- Znam da su propisi IAAF-a uvijek bili usmjereni na mene", poručila je tada Semenya.
"Već desetljeće IAAF me pokušava usporiti, ali to me čini jačom. Odluka CAS-a neće me zadržati," poručila je.
Zaključno s 8. svibnja sve osobe koje imaju problem poput Semenye morat će biti testirane kako bi se utvrdilo zadovoljavaju li postavljeni kriterij.
Pravilnik nije vrijedio za miting Dijamantne lige koji je bio na rasporedu u petak u Dohi na kojem je Semenya ostvarila 30. uzastopnu pobjedu u ovoj disciplini s rezultatom 1:54.98, dok je Sharp zauzela deveto mjesto istrčavši vrijeme 2:01.51.
