Hrvatske parastolnotenisačice Anđela Mužinić i Helena Dretar Karić izborile su plasman u polufinale ekipne konkurencije na Paraolimpijskim igrama u Tokiju i time osigurale najmanje brončanu medalju.

Hrvatska ekipa je u četvrtfinalu kategorije (1-3) igračica u kolicima pobijedila Tursku sa 2-0 i tako osigurala broncu na POI nakon što su prije pet godina u Rio de Janeiru bile druge.

Druga je to medalja za Hrvatsku u Tokiju nakon srebra Velimira Šandora u bacanju diska.

U prvom meču Anđela i Helena su u igri parova pobijedile Hatice Duman i Nergiz Altintas sa 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-9), a potom je Mužinić pobijedila Duman sa 3-0 (11-7, 13-11, 13-11) pa treći susret nije bio niti potreban.

"Lakše se diše, Nakon poraza u singlu trebalo se dići i mislim da smo to uspjele. Odlično sam se osjećala, bila sam puna sigurnosti, ali kada smo došle za stol pojavio se ogroman pritisak. Na kraju smo uspjele upisati pobjedu, a obično je pobjeda u paru ključna," kazala je Dretar Karić dodavši: "Sada možemo u pravi "fajt".

"Bile smo stisnute, suparnice su povele 7-1, no bilo je ključno što smo ostale smirene. Izgubile smo prvi set, ali smo se uspjele vratiti," dodala je Mužinić.

Hrvatska je prolaz u polufinale potvrdila u drugom meču u kojem je 29-godišnja stolnotenisačica iz Srinjana slavila s uvjerljivih 3-0.

"Igrala sam dosta puta protiv Duman, jednom me stajala svjetske bronce. Uvijek mi je bila neugodan suparnik. I danas je bilo teško i tek sada nakon meča osjećam olakšanje."

Dretar Karić i Mužinić su u Riju osvojile srebro, a bila je to prva hrvatska ekipna medalja u povijesti paraolimpijskih igara. Od djevojaka se medalja očekivala i u Tokiju.

"Možda nam je zbog toga i bio pritisak. Znale smo da ova pobjeda nosi medalju i sigurna sam kako sutra neće biti takvog grča," istaknula je Dretar Karić, 

U polufinalu će već sutra igrati protiv ekipe Južne Koreje, a bit će to repriza iz Rija kada su naše djevojke slavile. Zanimljivo, dobile su ih tada i nikada više.

"One su tada bile favoritkinje, a mislim da su i sutra, ali mi nemamo što izgubiti," kazala je 42-godišnja Varaždinka, dok je Mužinić dodala: "Obećajemo borbu i igrat ćemo bez kočnica."

Osim srebra s POI u Riju, Mužinić i Dretar Karić su osvojile i srebro (2017) i broncu (2014) na svjetskim prvenstvima, te četiri zlata (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) i broncu (2011) na ekipnim europskim prvenstvima. 

Trenerica Mirela Šikoronja Ivančin je naglasila kako je ih je bilo najvažnije "vratiti u život" nakon ispadanja u pojedinačnoj konkurenciji, pogotovo Anđelu koja je imala veće ciljeve od četvrtfinala.

"Bilo je užasno teško igrati meč koji moraš dobiti. Branimo srebro iz Rija, znamo da smo dobri, no to moraš i potvrditi na terenu," kazala je Šikoronja Ivančin.

"Znala sam da će biti težak meč, ovdje nema laganih suparnika, no cure su dobro odgovorile na izazove i jedna i druga su u formi i presretna sam što su osigurale medalju."

Istaknula je kako je najveći problem što više od godinu dana nije bilo mečeva.

"Nismo imali niti jednog službenog meča godinu i pol, a onda su došle paraolimpijske igre koje same po sebi donose pritisak."

Za ulazak u finale hrvatska ekipa će igrati protiv Južne Koreje.

"Koreja je ekipa koju smo dobili samo u Riju. No cure su sada u odličnoj poziciji, skinule su pritisak s leđa i sada mogu hrabro ući u meč. Kvalitetu imaju i beskrajno vjerujem u njih."

Žali i što na tribinama nema gledatelja.

"Ovo je prekrsna dvorana i stvarno je šteta što nema gledatelja jer bi tribine bile pune," poručila je Šikoronja Ivančin.

Hrvatske parastolnotenisačice Anđela Mužinić i Helena Dretar Karić izborile su plasman u polufinale ekipne konkurencije na Paraolimpijskim igrama u Tokiju i time osigurale najmanje brončanu medalju.

Hrvatska ekipa je u četvrtfinalu kategorije (1-3) igračica u kolicima pobijedila Tursku sa 2-0 i tako osigurala broncu na POI nakon što su prije pet godina u Rio de Janeiru bile druge.

Druga je to medalja za Hrvatsku u Tokiju nakon srebra Velimira Šandora u bacanju diska.

U prvom meču Anđela i Helena su u igri parova pobijedile Hatice Duman i Nergiz Altintas sa 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-9), a potom je Mužinić pobijedila Duman sa 3-0 (11-7, 13-11, 13-11) pa treći susret nije bio niti potreban.

"Lakše se diše, Nakon poraza u singlu trebalo se dići i mislim da smo to uspjele. Odlično sam se osjećala, bila sam puna sigurnosti, ali kada smo došle za stol pojavio se ogroman pritisak. Na kraju smo uspjele upisati pobjedu, a obično je pobjeda u paru ključna," kazala je Dretar Karić dodavši: "Sada možemo u pravi "fajt".

"Bile smo stisnute, suparnice su povele 7-1, no bilo je ključno što smo ostale smirene. Izgubile smo prvi set, ali smo se uspjele vratiti," dodala je Mužinić.

Hrvatska je prolaz u polufinale potvrdila u drugom meču u kojem je 29-godišnja stolnotenisačica iz Srinjana slavila s uvjerljivih 3-0.

"Igrala sam dosta puta protiv Duman, jednom me stajala svjetske bronce. Uvijek mi je bila neugodan suparnik. I danas je bilo teško i tek sada nakon meča osjećam olakšanje."

Dretar Karić i Mužinić su u Riju osvojile srebro, a bila je to prva hrvatska ekipna medalja u povijesti paraolimpijskih igara. Od djevojaka se medalja očekivala i u Tokiju.

"Možda nam je zbog toga i bio pritisak. Znale smo da ova pobjeda nosi medalju i sigurna sam kako sutra neće biti takvog grča," istaknula je Dretar Karić, 

U polufinalu će već sutra igrati protiv ekipe Južne Koreje, a bit će to repriza iz Rija kada su naše djevojke slavile. Zanimljivo, dobile su ih tada i nikada više.

"One su tada bile favoritkinje, a mislim da su i sutra, ali mi nemamo što izgubiti," kazala je 42-godišnja Varaždinka, dok je Mužinić dodala: "Obećajemo borbu i igrat ćemo bez kočnica."

Osim srebra s POI u Riju, Mužinić i Dretar Karić su osvojile i srebro (2017) i broncu (2014) na svjetskim prvenstvima, te četiri zlata (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) i broncu (2011) na ekipnim europskim prvenstvima. 

Trenerica Mirela Šikoronja Ivančin je naglasila kako je ih je bilo najvažnije "vratiti u život" nakon ispadanja u pojedinačnoj konkurenciji, pogotovo Anđelu koja je imala veće ciljeve od četvrtfinala.

"Bilo je užasno teško igrati meč koji moraš dobiti. Branimo srebro iz Rija, znamo da smo dobri, no to moraš i potvrditi na terenu," kazala je Šikoronja Ivančin.

"Znala sam da će biti težak meč, ovdje nema laganih suparnika, no cure su dobro odgovorile na izazove i jedna i druga su u formi i presretna sam što su osigurale medalju."

Istaknula je kako je najveći problem što više od godinu dana nije bilo mečeva.

"Nismo imali niti jednog službenog meča godinu i pol, a onda su došle paraolimpijske igre koje same po sebi donose pritisak."

Za ulazak u finale hrvatska ekipa će igrati protiv Južne Koreje.

"Koreja je ekipa koju smo dobili samo u Riju. No cure su sada u odličnoj poziciji, skinule su pritisak s leđa i sada mogu hrabro ući u meč. Kvalitetu imaju i beskrajno vjerujem u njih."

Žali i što na tribinama nema gledatelja.

"Ovo je prekrsna dvorana i stvarno je šteta što nema gledatelja jer bi tribine bile pune," poručila je Šikoronja Ivančin.

Anđela Mužinić i Helena Dretar Karić izborile plasman u polufinale ekipne konkurencije i time osigurale najmanje brončanu medalju

Hrvatske parastolnotenisačice Anđela Mužinić i Helena Dretar Karić izborile su plasman u polufinale ekipne konkurencije na Paraolimpijskim igrama u Tokiju i time osigurale najmanje brončanu medalju.

Hrvatska ekipa je u četvrtfinalu kategorije (1-3) igračica u kolicima pobijedila Tursku sa 2-0 i tako osigurala broncu na POI nakon što su prije pet godina u Rio de Janeiru bile druge.

Druga je to medalja za Hrvatsku u Tokiju nakon srebra Velimira Šandora u bacanju diska.

U prvom meču Anđela i Helena su u igri parova pobijedile Hatice Duman i Nergiz Altintas sa 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-9), a potom je Mužinić pobijedila Duman sa 3-0 (11-7, 13-11, 13-11) pa treći susret nije bio niti potreban.
