Poslije velikog mučenja hrvatska košarkaška reprezentacija ipak je slomila Tunis i plasirala se u polufinale kvalifikacijskog turnira za Olimpijske igre u Splitu. Nakon debakla protiv Brazila očekivalo se kako će utakmica s najslabijom momčadi turnira dobro doći za "bildanje" samopouzdanja, a na kraju je Hrvatska drhtala doslovno do posljednjih sekundi.

Prvo poluvrijeme izabranici Veljka Mršića odradili su rutinski. Imali su plus 14, dominirali u reketu, lako zabijali iz kontre i bili dovoljno čvrsti u obrani. Iako, činilo se da igraju u drugoj ili trećoj brzini, taman koliko im treba. To ih je u trećoj četvrtini počelo koštati. Tunižani su se ohrabrili laganim koševima u reketu, proradio im je i vanjski šut, a mi smo se previše oslanjali na individualna rješenja koja je jedino pronalazio Mario Hezonja.

Odjednom smo se našli u drami. Osim Hezonje koji nas je predvodio s 27 poena, osam skokova i četiri ukradene lopte, neočekivano se u junaka prometnuo Pavle Marčinković. U posljednjoj četvrtini uhvatio je čak pet napadačkih skokova (sedam ukupno) i stavio važnu tricu za 72:67 pola minute prije kraja. Predsjednik HKS-a Stojko Vranković, koji je završnicu susreta pratio u neposrednoj blizini terena, mogao je odahnuti.

Mršić je nastojao što više uigrati četvoricu stožernih igrača Bogdanovića, Hezonju, Ukića i Žižića koji su u igri proveli preko 30 minuta, dok Drežnjak, Planinić i Šakić jedini nisu ulazili. Trica nam je ponovno bila užasna (5/29), a broj asistencija nizak (11), što je samo dokaz koliko se često soliralo i igralo jedan na pet.

Iako štošta nije valjalo u ove dvije utakmice, jedino što je važno tek slijedi. Pravo na kiks Hrvatska je ispucala, ali će u subotu protiv Njemačke u polufinalu morati bitno napredovati baš u svakom segmentu igre. Jer ovo do sada nije bilo ohrabrujuće. U drugom polufinalu sastaju se Brazil i Meksiko, a samo pobjednik turnira ide u Tokio.

"Napravili smo ono što smo željeli, ušli u polufinale, ali igra nije bila dobra. U prvom poluvremenu smo igrali dobro, vodili 14 razlike, ali igrali smo previše brzopleto u napadu, nemamo strpljenja. U drugom poluvremenu isto. Primili smo 42 poena u drugom dijelu, a Tunis u cijeloj inače zabija do 60", izjavio je odmah po završetku utakmice Veljko Mršić.

Posebna zahvala za pobjedu nakon utakmice otišla je jednom igraču.

"Inače zahvaljujem cijeloj momčadi, ali danas bih zahvalio posebno Pavlu Marčinkoviću. Igrao je za momčad i pokazao je što je kolektivni sport. To moramo pod hitno promijeniti do iduće utakmice. Znam da nije bilo lako nakon Brazila, veliki pritisak, ali ovako nećemo ništa napraviti. Imamo vremena do iduće utakmice, moramo biti puno pametniji. Navike nije lako promijeniti, ali pokušat ćemo promijeniti obranu", dodao je hrvatski izbornik.

Oglasio se i kapetan Bojan Bogdanović.

"Ne treba biti previše pametan i poznavati košarku kako bi se vidjelo da nismo bili pravi. Nismo očekivali egal završnicu jer smo dobro otvorili utakmicu. Na kraju smo ima dopuštali previše laganih poena, Hezonja je bio agresivan i Marčinković je tricom i skokom u napadu povukao i ukupno je odigrao jako dobro drugo poluvrijeme.Moramo biti agresivniji na lopti protiv Nijemaca, jer sada ne izgledamo dobro i nadam se da ćemo to popraviti. Moja igra? Sigurno da ću biti agresivniji u idućoj utakmici, podvukao je Bogdanović.

Poslije velikog mučenja hrvatska košarkaška reprezentacija ipak je slomila Tunis i plasirala se u polufinale kvalifikacijskog turnira za Olimpijske igre u Splitu. Nakon debakla protiv Brazila očekivalo se kako će utakmica s najslabijom momčadi turnira dobro doći za "bildanje" samopouzdanja, a na kraju je Hrvatska drhtala doslovno do posljednjih sekundi.

Prvo poluvrijeme izabranici Veljka Mršića odradili su rutinski. Imali su plus 14, dominirali u reketu, lako zabijali iz kontre i bili dovoljno čvrsti u obrani. Iako, činilo se da igraju u drugoj ili trećoj brzini, taman koliko im treba. To ih je u trećoj četvrtini počelo koštati. Tunižani su se ohrabrili laganim koševima u reketu, proradio im je i vanjski šut, a mi smo se previše oslanjali na individualna rješenja koja je jedino pronalazio Mario Hezonja.

Odjednom smo se našli u drami. Osim Hezonje koji nas je predvodio s 27 poena, osam skokova i četiri ukradene lopte, neočekivano se u junaka prometnuo Pavle Marčinković. U posljednjoj četvrtini uhvatio je čak pet napadačkih skokova (sedam ukupno) i stavio važnu tricu za 72:67 pola minute prije kraja. Predsjednik HKS-a Stojko Vranković, koji je završnicu susreta pratio u neposrednoj blizini terena, mogao je odahnuti.

Mršić je nastojao što više uigrati četvoricu stožernih igrača Bogdanovića, Hezonju, Ukića i Žižića koji su u igri proveli preko 30 minuta, dok Drežnjak, Planinić i Šakić jedini nisu ulazili. Trica nam je ponovno bila užasna (5/29), a broj asistencija nizak (11), što je samo dokaz koliko se često soliralo i igralo jedan na pet.

Iako štošta nije valjalo u ove dvije utakmice, jedino što je važno tek slijedi. Pravo na kiks Hrvatska je ispucala, ali će u subotu protiv Njemačke u polufinalu morati bitno napredovati baš u svakom segmentu igre. Jer ovo do sada nije bilo ohrabrujuće. U drugom polufinalu sastaju se Brazil i Meksiko, a samo pobjednik turnira ide u Tokio.

"Napravili smo ono što smo željeli, ušli u polufinale, ali igra nije bila dobra. U prvom poluvremenu smo igrali dobro, vodili 14 razlike, ali igrali smo previše brzopleto u napadu, nemamo strpljenja. U drugom poluvremenu isto. Primili smo 42 poena u drugom dijelu, a Tunis u cijeloj inače zabija do 60", izjavio je odmah po završetku utakmice Veljko Mršić.

Posebna zahvala za pobjedu nakon utakmice otišla je jednom igraču.

"Inače zahvaljujem cijeloj momčadi, ali danas bih zahvalio posebno Pavlu Marčinkoviću. Igrao je za momčad i pokazao je što je kolektivni sport. To moramo pod hitno promijeniti do iduće utakmice. Znam da nije bilo lako nakon Brazila, veliki pritisak, ali ovako nećemo ništa napraviti. Imamo vremena do iduće utakmice, moramo biti puno pametniji. Navike nije lako promijeniti, ali pokušat ćemo promijeniti obranu", dodao je hrvatski izbornik.

Oglasio se i kapetan Bojan Bogdanović.

"Ne treba biti previše pametan i poznavati košarku kako bi se vidjelo da nismo bili pravi. Nismo očekivali egal završnicu jer smo dobro otvorili utakmicu. Na kraju smo ima dopuštali previše laganih poena, Hezonja je bio agresivan i Marčinković je tricom i skokom u napadu povukao i ukupno je odigrao jako dobro drugo poluvrijeme.Moramo biti agresivniji na lopti protiv Nijemaca, jer sada ne izgledamo dobro i nadam se da ćemo to popraviti. Moja igra? Sigurno da ću biti agresivniji u idućoj utakmici, podvukao je Bogdanović.

Poslije velikog mučenja hrvatska košarkaška reprezentacija ipak je slomila Tunis i plasirala se u polufinale kvalifikacijskog turnira za Olimpijske igre u Splitu. Nakon debakla protiv Brazila očekivalo se kako će utakmica s najslabijom momčadi turnira dobro doći za "bildanje" samopouzdanja, a na kraju je Hrvatska drhtala doslovno do posljednjih sekundi.

Prvo poluvrijeme izabranici Veljka Mršića odradili su rutinski. Imali su plus 14, dominirali u reketu, lako zabijali iz kontre i bili dovoljno čvrsti u obrani. Iako, činilo se da igraju u drugoj ili trećoj brzini, taman koliko im treba. To ih je u trećoj četvrtini počelo koštati. Tunižani su se ohrabrili laganim koševima u reketu, proradio im je i vanjski šut, a mi smo se previše oslanjali na individualna rješenja...
