Nakon više od četvrt stoljeća postojanja regata za dva člana posade, poznata kao Sušac 100x2, u svome 27. izdanju okupila je 46 posada koje su uspješno je odjedrile rutu od Splita do otoka Sušca i natrag.

No, za kompletnu priču oko ove jedinstvene regate treba se vratiti znatno više od četvrt stoljeća u prošlost i prisjetiti se samih početka, te bitno drugačijih uvjeta iz kojih je današnja forma druženja pod jedrima izniknula.

Početak Sušca zapravo nije onaj službeni iz 1996. godine. Znatno prije njega natjecalo se jedreći oko otoka koji se na obzoru iz daljine, kada se jedri iz Splita do Hvara, ukazuje kao dva otoka. Sušcu se mora približiti, ostaviti po krmi još i otok Vis, da bi se tek tada ukazala obala koja spaja dvije najviše točke Sušca od kojih se na onoj istočnoj nalazi svjetionik.

Treba li uopće spominjati da je prije GPS-a terestrička navigacija i vizualno prepoznavanje otoka bila jedna od ključnih vještina nužnih za uspješnu plovidbu i jedrenje prema željenom Sušcu.

Takozvani nulti Sušac nije bio za dvoje, to zapravo uopće nije bila formalna regata, već dišpet troje jedriličara iz splitskoga JK Mornara koji su se sami uputili na ovu zahtjevnu rutu. Kako je to tada bilo, već je pomalo teško saznati, jer službenih zapisa nema, a zub vremena nagriza sve, osobito sjećanje.

Edi Miklaušić nije se mogao sjetiti kada se to točno u drugoj polovici prošloga stoljeća dogodilo. Sjetio se samo da su uz njega tada jedrili Goran Tomašević i Miljenko Nikolić, svatko na svojoj jedrilici.

Krenuli su iz Splita jedriti sve do Sušca, jer se nisu mogli pomiriti s činjenicom da se nitko nije prijavio na regatu koja se do tada održavala s posadama. Jednostavno nisu mogli pasivno prihvatiti da ona nestane.

Izgubljena mistika

Miljenko Nikolić samo je skromno zamolio da ga se ne spominje kao višestrukog pobjednika ove regate, već samo kao običnog natjecatelja. A nesvakidašnji događaj za ondašnja vremena samo je kratko prokomentirao kao uspješno jedrenu rutu. Goran Tomašević je nažalost preminuo.

Sušac se danas nužno preobrazio u nešto znatno prizemljenije od neposrednog entuzijazma i jedriličarske strasti pomalo mistične i male skupine široj javnosti nepoznatih jedriličara koji pomiču granice onoga što se smatra normalnim i očekivanim.

Pojava tehnologije kao već spomenutog GPS-a, koji omogućuje svakome da zna gdje se nalazi i gdje mora ploviti, kao i stalnog praćenja regate uživo preko interneta, odnijela je u ropotarnicu povijesti svu nekadašnju romantiku i mistiku koja je pratila plovidbu i jedrenje.

Nedavno minula vremena, iako je prošlo samo nekoliko desetljeća, iz današnje perspektive djeluju isto tako daleko kao i antičke priče otkrivanja nepoznatih i neucrtanih obala.

Unatoč tome uvjeren sam da oni najbolji i dalje ne koriste sve čari navedenih tehnologija, već najveći dio svoga dobroga jedrenja i rezultata crpe iz iskustva, te na odlukama koje donose na temelju onoga što im se ukazuje neposredno na regatnom polju, od vjetra, oblaka, valova, kurenta kao i vizualnog promatranja otoka tijekom jedrenja.

Nakon više od četvrt stoljeća postojanja regata za dva člana posade, poznata kao Sušac 100x2, u svome 27. izdanju okupila je 46 posada koje su uspješno je odjedrile rutu od Splita do otoka Sušca i natrag.

No, za kompletnu priču oko ove jedinstvene regate treba se vratiti znatno više od četvrt stoljeća u prošlost i prisjetiti se samih početka, te bitno drugačijih uvjeta iz kojih je današnja forma druženja pod jedrima izniknula.

Početak Sušca zapravo nije onaj službeni iz 1996. godine. Znatno prije njega natjecalo se jedreći oko otoka koji se na obzoru iz daljine, kada se jedri iz Splita do Hvara, ukazuje kao dva otoka. Sušcu se mora približiti, ostaviti po krmi još i otok Vis, da bi se tek tada ukazala obala koja spaja dvije najviše točke Sušca od kojih se na onoj istočnoj nalazi svjetionik.

Treba li uopće spominjati da je prije GPS-a terestrička navigacija i vizualno prepoznavanje otoka bila jedna od ključnih vještina nužnih za uspješnu plovidbu i jedrenje prema željenom Sušcu.

Takozvani nulti Sušac nije bio za dvoje, to zapravo uopće nije bila formalna regata, već dišpet troje jedriličara iz splitskoga JK Mornara koji su se sami uputili na ovu zahtjevnu rutu. Kako je to tada bilo, već je pomalo teško saznati, jer službenih zapisa nema, a zub vremena nagriza sve, osobito sjećanje.

Edi Miklaušić nije se mogao sjetiti kada se to točno u drugoj polovici prošloga stoljeća dogodilo. Sjetio se samo da su uz njega tada jedrili Goran Tomašević i Miljenko Nikolić, svatko na svojoj jedrilici.

Krenuli su iz Splita jedriti sve do Sušca, jer se nisu mogli pomiriti s činjenicom da se nitko nije prijavio na regatu koja se do tada održavala s posadama. Jednostavno nisu mogli pasivno prihvatiti da ona nestane.

Izgubljena mistika

Miljenko Nikolić samo je skromno zamolio da ga se ne spominje kao višestrukog pobjednika ove regate, već samo kao običnog natjecatelja. A nesvakidašnji događaj za ondašnja vremena samo je kratko prokomentirao kao uspješno jedrenu rutu. Goran Tomašević je nažalost preminuo.

Sušac se danas nužno preobrazio u nešto znatno prizemljenije od neposrednog entuzijazma i jedriličarske strasti pomalo mistične i male skupine široj javnosti nepoznatih jedriličara koji pomiču granice onoga što se smatra normalnim i očekivanim.

Pojava tehnologije kao već spomenutog GPS-a, koji omogućuje svakome da zna gdje se nalazi i gdje mora ploviti, kao i stalnog praćenja regate uživo preko interneta, odnijela je u ropotarnicu povijesti svu nekadašnju romantiku i mistiku koja je pratila plovidbu i jedrenje.

Nedavno minula vremena, iako je prošlo samo nekoliko desetljeća, iz današnje perspektive djeluju isto tako daleko kao i antičke priče otkrivanja nepoznatih i neucrtanih obala.

Unatoč tome uvjeren sam da oni najbolji i dalje ne koriste sve čari navedenih tehnologija, već najveći dio svoga dobroga jedrenja i rezultata crpe iz iskustva, te na odlukama koje donose na temelju onoga što im se ukazuje neposredno na regatnom polju, od vjetra, oblaka, valova, kurenta kao i vizualnog promatranja otoka tijekom jedrenja.
