Znanstvenici su u orbiti jedne od nama najbližih zvijezda otkrili set "super Zemlji", egzoplaneta mase između one Zemlje i Neptuna, javlja danas Independent.

Ono što je naročito zanimljivo u njihovu otkriću činjenica je da bi ovi planeti mogli predstavljati dosad najbolju šansu za pronalazak života van našeg sunčevog sustava.

Orbitiraju oko zvijezde naziva Gliese 887, najsjajnijeg crvenog patuljka (zvijezda 2 do 10 puta manje mase od Sunca) poznatog ljudima. Udaljena je oko 11 svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje.

Super Zemlje poput ovih "novih" planeta imaju masu veću od Zemlje, ali su manje od "ledenih divova" našeg sunčevog sustava, Urana i Neptuna. Upravo su takvi planeti ključ potencijalnog pronalaska života van sistema koji poznajemo, tvrde znanstvenici. Ono što ove čini dodatno pogodnima za život, činjenica je da se nalaze u zoni koja nije prehladna ni pretopla za postojanje vode.

Spomenuta zvijezda otkrivena je korištenjem spektografa HARPS (High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher), u Čileu, a otkrili su je znanstvenici bazirani oko rada u potrazi za planetima koji kruže oko crvenih patuljaka.

Uspjeli su ih uočiti koristeći tehniku "Doppler wobble" koja omogućuje da se promatraju i najsitniji pokreti koje izaziva gravitcija. Prema dosadašnjim zaključcima, novootkriveni planeti kreću se jako brzo oko zvijezde, brže i od Merkura.

Zvijezda Gliese 887 je također prigušenija i manja od našega Sunca, što znači da joj i planeti mogu potencijalno biti biže te da to ne bi umanjilo mogućnost razvijanja života na njima. Isto tako, ovaj je crveni patuljak "manje aktivan" od Sunca - da je podjednako ili više aktivan, atmosfere planeta koji ga okružuju ne bi mogle postojati. 

"Ovi planeti mogli bi predstavljati podlogu za daljnja proučavanja, uključujući i ona pronalaska života van našeg Sunčevog sustava", kazala je Sandra Jeffers sa Sveučilišta u Göttingenu i glavna autorica studije koja je izašla u časopisu Science pod naslovom "A multiple planet system of super-Earths orbiting the brightest red dwarf star GJ887".

Znanstvenici su u orbiti jedne od nama najbližih zvijezda otkrili set "super Zemlji", egzoplaneta mase između one Zemlje i Neptuna, javlja danas Independent.

Ono što je naročito zanimljivo u njihovu otkriću činjenica je da bi ovi planeti mogli predstavljati dosad najbolju šansu za pronalazak života van našeg sunčevog sustava.

Orbitiraju oko zvijezde naziva Gliese 887, najsjajnijeg crvenog patuljka (zvijezda 2 do 10 puta manje mase od Sunca) poznatog ljudima. Udaljena je oko 11 svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje.

Super Zemlje poput ovih "novih" planeta imaju masu veću od Zemlje, ali su manje od "ledenih divova" našeg sunčevog sustava, Urana i Neptuna. Upravo su takvi planeti ključ potencijalnog pronalaska života van sistema koji poznajemo, tvrde znanstvenici. Ono što ove čini dodatno pogodnima za život, činjenica je da se nalaze u zoni koja nije prehladna ni pretopla za postojanje vode.

Spomenuta zvijezda otkrivena je korištenjem spektografa HARPS (High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher), u Čileu, a otkrili su je znanstvenici bazirani oko rada u potrazi za planetima koji kruže oko crvenih patuljaka.

Uspjeli su ih uočiti koristeći tehniku "Doppler wobble" koja omogućuje da se promatraju i najsitniji pokreti koje izaziva gravitcija. Prema dosadašnjim zaključcima, novootkriveni planeti kreću se jako brzo oko zvijezde, brže i od Merkura.

Zvijezda Gliese 887 je također prigušenija i manja od našega Sunca, što znači da joj i planeti mogu potencijalno biti biže te da to ne bi umanjilo mogućnost razvijanja života na njima. Isto tako, ovaj je crveni patuljak "manje aktivan" od Sunca - da je podjednako ili više aktivan, atmosfere planeta koji ga okružuju ne bi mogle postojati. 

"Ovi planeti mogli bi predstavljati podlogu za daljnja proučavanja, uključujući i ona pronalaska života van našeg Sunčevog sustava", kazala je Sandra Jeffers sa Sveučilišta u Göttingenu i glavna autorica studije koja je izašla u časopisu Science pod naslovom "A multiple planet system of super-Earths orbiting the brightest red dwarf star GJ887".

Znanstvenici su u orbiti jedne od nama najbližih zvijezda otkrili set "super Zemlji", egzoplaneta mase između one Zemlje i Neptuna, javlja danas Independent.

Ono što je naročito zanimljivo u njihovu otkriću činjenica je da bi ovi planeti mogli predstavljati dosad najbolju šansu za pronalazak života van našeg sunčevog sustava.

Orbitiraju oko zvijezde naziva Gliese 887, najsjajnijeg crvenog patuljka (zvijezda 2 do 10 puta manje mase od Sunca) poznatog ljudima. Udaljena je oko 11 svjetlosnih godina od Zemlje.

Super Zemlje poput ovih "novih" planeta imaju masu veću od Zemlje, ali su manje od "ledenih divova" našeg sunčevog sustava, Urana i Neptuna. Upravo su takvi planeti ključ potencijalnog pronalaska života van sistema koji poznajemo, tvrde znanstvenici. Ono što ove čini...
