Iako će mnogi reći da je borba za očuvanje okoliša unaprijed izgubljena bitka, nije baš tako. Mnogo je toga što možemo činiti kao pojedinci, na dnevnoj bazi, kako bismo pomogli u zaustavljanju daljnje devastaciju prirode koja nas okružuje.
A time možemo automatski poboljšati i kvalitetu vlastitog života. Promjene koje korak po korak unosimo u svakodnevicu nećemo ni osjetiti u negativnom smislu, dapače, a dugoročno možemo učiniti nešto korisno.
Zašto ne bismo krenuli s rubljem?
Goleme količine omekšivača za rublje, deterdženta, pa i vlakana umjetnih, "plastičnih" materijala odjeće koju nosimo završavaju svakoga dana u okolišu i narušavaju njegov ekosustav. Mind Body Green donosi nekoliko savjeta kojima možete pozitivno djelovati na smanjenje količine tih tvari u okolišu.
1. Pažljivo birajte materijal
Najbolje je birati materijale kojima neće trebati tisuće godina da se razgrade. Organski pamuk, konoplja, bambus, lan i slični prirodni, pa i reciklirani materijali, odlična su opcija. Izbjegavajte poliester i druga umjetna vlakna.
No kad je u pitanju sam tekstil, većina zagađenja ipak dolazi nakon proizvodnje - tijekom pranja i održavanja. Zato je važno, upozorava Jesse Daystar iz Cotton.Inc-a za spomenuti izvor, pripaziti i na neke navike kod kuće.
2. Perite manje
Najbolje bi bilo u potpunosti izbjegavati perilicu za rublje, ali to u današnje vrijeme, dakako, nije moguće. Stoga stručnjaci savjetuju prati što rjeđe, a određene stvari poput ciljanih mrlja oprati ručno. Isto tako, uzdajte se u moć prozračivanja odjeće koju ste nosili jednom ili dvaput.

3. Koristite hladnu vodu
Ne samo da je hladna voda bolja za okoliš zbog očuvanja energije, već pomaže i u očuvanju odjeće i njenih vlakana. Brojna su istraživanja pokazala kako pranje u mlakoj ili hladnijoj vodi pridonosi dugotrajnosti tkanine. Tijekom pranja hladnom vodom, odjeća je zadržala oblik i boju, a isto tako je izgubila i manje vlakana koji inače završavaju u okolišu.
Za jako prljavu odjeću ili onu koja bi mogla biti kontaminirana, koristite ipak teperaturu višu od 60 stupnjeva.
4. Preskočite sušilicu
Kako biste sačuvali energiju, preskočite sušilicu, barem ljeti. Dok zimi to nije uvijek moguće, za vrijeme toplih mjeseci iskoristite sve blagodati sunca. To je jednostavna promjena koja može itekako pozitivno utjecati na okoliš.

5. Smanjite količinu deterdženta
Prepolovite uobičajenu količinu deterdženta, za probu. Primjećujete li razliku na odjeći? Ako to nije slučaj, nastavite koristiti manju količinu (čak i manju od preporučene na pakiranju), na taj način dugoročno možete i uštedjeti. Omekšivač preskočite u potpunosti, a ako primjećujete da su vam ručnici postali tvrdi kao kamen, omekšajte ih dodatkom malo jabučnoga octa.

Iako će mnogi reći da je borba za očuvanje okoliša unaprijed izgubljena bitka, nije baš tako. Mnogo je toga što možemo činiti kao pojedinci, na dnevnoj bazi, kako bismo pomogli u zaustavljanju daljnje devastaciju prirode koja nas okružuje.
A time možemo automatski poboljšati i kvalitetu vlastitog života. Promjene koje korak po korak unosimo u svakodnevicu nećemo ni osjetiti u negativnom smislu, dapače, a dugoročno možemo učiniti nešto korisno.
Zašto ne bismo krenuli s rubljem?
Goleme količine omekšivača za rublje, deterdženta, pa i vlakana umjetnih, "plastičnih" materijala odjeće koju nosimo završavaju svakoga dana u okolišu i narušavaju njegov ekosustav. Mind Body Green donosi nekoliko savjeta kojima možete pozitivno djelovati na smanjenje količine tih tvari u okolišu.
1. Pažljivo birajte materijal
Najbolje je birati materijale kojima neće trebati tisuće godina da se razgrade. Organski pamuk, konoplja, bambus, lan i slični prirodni, pa i reciklirani materijali, odlična su opcija. Izbjegavajte poliester i druga umjetna vlakna.
No kad je u pitanju sam tekstil, većina zagađenja ipak dolazi nakon proizvodnje - tijekom pranja i održavanja. Zato je važno, upozorava Jesse Daystar iz Cotton.Inc-a za spomenuti izvor, pripaziti i na neke navike kod kuće.
2. Perite manje
Najbolje bi bilo u potpunosti izbjegavati perilicu za rublje, ali to u današnje vrijeme, dakako, nije moguće. Stoga stručnjaci savjetuju prati što rjeđe, a određene stvari poput ciljanih mrlja oprati ručno. Isto tako, uzdajte se u moć prozračivanja odjeće koju ste nosili jednom ili dvaput.

3. Koristite hladnu vodu
Ne samo da je hladna voda bolja za okoliš zbog očuvanja energije, već pomaže i u očuvanju odjeće i njenih vlakana. Brojna su istraživanja pokazala kako pranje u mlakoj ili hladnijoj vodi pridonosi dugotrajnosti tkanine. Tijekom pranja hladnom vodom, odjeća je zadržala oblik i boju, a isto tako je izgubila i manje vlakana koji inače završavaju u okolišu.
Za jako prljavu odjeću ili onu koja bi mogla biti kontaminirana, koristite ipak teperaturu višu od 60 stupnjeva.
4. Preskočite sušilicu

5. Smanjite količinu deterdženta
Prepolovite uobičajenu količinu deterdženta, za probu. Primjećujete li razliku na odjeći? Ako to nije slučaj, nastavite koristiti manju količinu (čak i manju od preporučene na pakiranju), na taj način dugoročno možete i uštedjeti. Omekšivač preskočite u potpunosti, a ako primjećujete da su vam ručnici postali tvrdi kao kamen, omekšajte ih dodatkom malo jabučnoga octa.
