U srednjoj školi bila je maltretirana. Nakon fakulteta bilo je teško naći posao. Ali kroz sva teška vremena, Collette Divitto, imala je jednu stvar koja je čini sretnom: pečenje. Divitto, koja ima Downov sindrom, odlučila je usmjeriti svoju strast u karijeru, otvorivši vlastitu tvrtku za kolačiće.

"Zapravo, oduvijek sam volila pečenje, od svoje četvrte godine. Od srednje škole sam išla na tečajeve pečenja. Bilo mi je to teško vrijeme. Nisam imala prijatelja, nisam društveni život. Maltretirali su me i zadirkivali. I zato sam išla na tečajeve pečenja", priča Collette. Nakon srednje škole je otišla na Sveučilište Clemson u Južnoj Karolini, no nakon diplomiranja bilo joj je teško pronaći posao. Stoga se obratila svojoj mami, koja joj je pomogla stvoriti vlastiti posao; izvršnog direktora Collettey's Cookies.

'Colletteini Kolačići', čije je središte u Bostonu, osnovala je Divitto 2016. i već je donio više od milijun dolara prihoda u posljednjih pet godina. A ako pokretanje vlastitog posla u njezinim 20-ima nije dovoljno impresivno, Collette je također autorica dviju dječjih knjiga, predstavljena je u dokumentarcu "Born for Business" o poduzetnicima s invaliditetom i vodi neprofitnu organizaciju, piše CBS.

"Događa se puno nevjerojatnih stvari", rekla je Collette o prilikama koje joj dolaze. Kaže da joj je najdraži dio u vođenju posla zapošljavanje osoba s invaliditetom. Collettey's Leadership Org pomaže osobama s invaliditetom da se pripreme za svoju karijeru, nudeći radionice i mentorstvo. Postotak prihoda od Collettey's Cookies, koji se isporučuju diljem zemlje i u Kanadu, ide ovoj neprofitnoj organizaciji.

U 2020. godini samo 17,9 posto osoba s invaliditetom bilo je zaposleno. Ali Divitto vjeruje da mnogi žele raditi, a čak i kada to uspiju, savezni zakon ne zahtijeva od poslodavaca da im isplaćuju minimalnu plaću. To znači da tvrtke mogu plaćati osobama s invaliditetom koliko god misle da vrijede – nešto na čemu Collette radi da se promjeni.

Napravila je peticiju za pomoć u stvaranju više radnih mjesta za osobe s invaliditetom, za koju se nada da će privući pozornost Kongresa. I ne samo da se zalaže za osobe s invaliditetom kroz svoju neprofitnu organizaciju, već ih i zapošljava da rade u njezinoj vlastitoj tvrtki. “Cijela moja misija je stvaranje radnih mjesta za osobe s invaliditetom”, rekla je. "Za ljude koji imaju invaliditet... neki jako žele imati posao."

Collettey's Cookies sada ima 15 zaposlenika, a otprilike polovica njih su osobe s invaliditetom, rekla je Collette. I imaju snažnog vođu na kojeg se mogu ugledati. "Bez obzira tko ste, možete napraviti veliku promjenu u ovom svijetu", poručila je mlada poduzetnica. "Nemojte dopustiti da vas ljudi razočaraju... Nemojte se usredotočiti na svoje nedostatke. Trebate se usredotočiti samo na svoje sposobnosti."

U srednjoj školi bila je maltretirana. Nakon fakulteta bilo je teško naći posao. Ali kroz sva teška vremena, Collette Divitto, imala je jednu stvar koja je čini sretnom: pečenje. Divitto, koja ima Downov sindrom, odlučila je usmjeriti svoju strast u karijeru, otvorivši vlastitu tvrtku za kolačiće.

"Zapravo, oduvijek sam volila pečenje, od svoje četvrte godine. Od srednje škole sam išla na tečajeve pečenja. Bilo mi je to teško vrijeme. Nisam imala prijatelja, nisam društveni život. Maltretirali su me i zadirkivali. I zato sam išla na tečajeve pečenja", priča Collette. Nakon srednje škole je otišla na Sveučilište Clemson u Južnoj Karolini, no nakon diplomiranja bilo joj je teško pronaći posao. Stoga se obratila svojoj mami, koja joj je pomogla stvoriti vlastiti posao; izvršnog direktora Collettey's Cookies.

'Colletteini Kolačići', čije je središte u Bostonu, osnovala je Divitto 2016. i već je donio više od milijun dolara prihoda u posljednjih pet godina. A ako pokretanje vlastitog posla u njezinim 20-ima nije dovoljno impresivno, Collette je također autorica dviju dječjih knjiga, predstavljena je u dokumentarcu "Born for Business" o poduzetnicima s invaliditetom i vodi neprofitnu organizaciju, piše CBS.

"Događa se puno nevjerojatnih stvari", rekla je Collette o prilikama koje joj dolaze. Kaže da joj je najdraži dio u vođenju posla zapošljavanje osoba s invaliditetom. Collettey's Leadership Org pomaže osobama s invaliditetom da se pripreme za svoju karijeru, nudeći radionice i mentorstvo. Postotak prihoda od Collettey's Cookies, koji se isporučuju diljem zemlje i u Kanadu, ide ovoj neprofitnoj organizaciji.

U 2020. godini samo 17,9 posto osoba s invaliditetom bilo je zaposleno. Ali Divitto vjeruje da mnogi žele raditi, a čak i kada to uspiju, savezni zakon ne zahtijeva od poslodavaca da im isplaćuju minimalnu plaću. To znači da tvrtke mogu plaćati osobama s invaliditetom koliko god misle da vrijede – nešto na čemu Collette radi da se promjeni.

Napravila je peticiju za pomoć u stvaranju više radnih mjesta za osobe s invaliditetom, za koju se nada da će privući pozornost Kongresa. I ne samo da se zalaže za osobe s invaliditetom kroz svoju neprofitnu organizaciju, već ih i zapošljava da rade u njezinoj vlastitoj tvrtki. “Cijela moja misija je stvaranje radnih mjesta za osobe s invaliditetom”, rekla je. "Za ljude koji imaju invaliditet... neki jako žele imati posao."

Collettey's Cookies sada ima 15 zaposlenika, a otprilike polovica njih su osobe s invaliditetom, rekla je Collette. I imaju snažnog vođu na kojeg se mogu ugledati. "Bez obzira tko ste, možete napraviti veliku promjenu u ovom svijetu", poručila je mlada poduzetnica. "Nemojte dopustiti da vas ljudi razočaraju... Nemojte se usredotočiti na svoje nedostatke. Trebate se usredotočiti samo na svoje sposobnosti."

U srednjoj školi bila je maltretirana. Nakon fakulteta bilo je teško naći posao. Ali kroz sva teška vremena, Collette Divitto, imala je jednu stvar koja je čini sretnom: pečenje. Divitto, koja ima Downov sindrom, odlučila je usmjeriti svoju strast u karijeru, otvorivši vlastitu tvrtku za kolačiće.

"Zapravo, oduvijek sam volila pečenje, od svoje četvrte godine. Od srednje škole sam išla na tečajeve pečenja. Bilo mi je to teško vrijeme. Nisam imala prijatelja, nisam društveni život. Maltretirali su me i zadirkivali. I zato sam išla na tečajeve pečenja", priča Collette. Nakon srednje škole je otišla na Sveučilište Clemson u Južnoj Karolini, no nakon diplomiranja bilo joj je teško pronaći posao. Stoga se obratila svojoj mami, koja joj je pomogla stvoriti...
