Studentica medicine Gabriella Barboza stigla je na fakultet na predavanja kao i uvijek. Tog dana su učili o fizičkim pregledima u području glave i vrata. U jednom trenutku, djevojku je pozvao profesor Daniel Lichtenthaler da mu bude  model pri prezentaciji kako treba pregledati vrat. "Zvao me je kako bi objasnio tehniku pipkanja štitnjače", prisjeća se Gabriella za BBC News Brazil.

Dok je profesor pokazivao kako se treba pregledati vrat ispred ostalih studenata koji su pažljivo promatrali, Gabriella je primijetila da se on ponašao drugačije nego prije. "Mislim da se bojao razgovarati tamo, ali primijetila sam da nešto nije normalno", kaže djevojka. Kaže da je tada, na kraju nastave, pitala profesora: "Postoji li nešto drugačije dok pipka moj vrat, rekao mi je, ima nešto tamo, pogledajte."

Nakon ove uzbune napravila je testove i dijagnosticirana joj je jedna vrsta raka štitnjače.

Taj trenutak sredinom listopada 2020. svrstava u ključni trenutak za svoje zdravlje. "Mislim da nisam taj dan otišla na nastavu, možda ne bih tako brzo saznala za rak štitnjače, te bi moja dijagnoza bila otkrivena puno kasnije i liječenje bi bilo puno teže", kaže Gabriella.

Studentica, koja je bila u trećem semestru medicine, tvrdi da nije imala simptome, a nije ni primijetila bilo kakvu promjenu na vratu.

Daniel Lichtenthaler, koji je liječnik specijaliziran za gerijatriju i medicinsku praksu, kaže za BBC News Brazil da je primijetio da je Gabriellina štitnjača imala značajan i asimetrični rast. Zbog toga ju je pozvao da bude model prilikom demonstracije pregleda vrata.

"Koliko se sjećam, prvi učenik korišten kao model imao je malu štitnjaču, što je normalno. Tada sam brzo pogledao u vrat nekih studenata i Gabrijela mi je zapela za oko", kaže liječnik.

Čvorovi štitnjače smatraju se uobičajenim i često se lako identificiraju zbog istaknutog položaja žlijezde u središnjem području vrata. U mnogim slučajevima, prema liječnicima, sam pacijent može osjetiti tu razliku dodirujući ovaj dio tijela. Dobra vijest je da je oko 95% ovih kvržica benigno. A ako je pacijentu dijagnosticiran rak, šanse za izlječenje bolesti u ovom području su vrlo velike - postoje istraživanja koja procjenjuju da oko 97% bolesnika bude izliječeno.

Studentica medicine Gabriella Barboza stigla je na fakultet na predavanja kao i uvijek. Tog dana su učili o fizičkim pregledima u području glave i vrata. U jednom trenutku, djevojku je pozvao profesor Daniel Lichtenthaler da mu bude  model pri prezentaciji kako treba pregledati vrat. "Zvao me je kako bi objasnio tehniku pipkanja štitnjače", prisjeća se Gabriella za BBC News Brazil.

Dok je profesor pokazivao kako se treba pregledati vrat ispred ostalih studenata koji su pažljivo promatrali, Gabriella je primijetila da se on ponašao drugačije nego prije. "Mislim da se bojao razgovarati tamo, ali primijetila sam da nešto nije normalno", kaže djevojka. Kaže da je tada, na kraju nastave, pitala profesora: "Postoji li nešto drugačije dok pipka moj vrat, rekao mi je, ima nešto tamo, pogledajte."

Nakon ove uzbune napravila je testove i dijagnosticirana joj je jedna vrsta raka štitnjače.

Taj trenutak sredinom listopada 2020. svrstava u ključni trenutak za svoje zdravlje. "Mislim da nisam taj dan otišla na nastavu, možda ne bih tako brzo saznala za rak štitnjače, te bi moja dijagnoza bila otkrivena puno kasnije i liječenje bi bilo puno teže", kaže Gabriella.

Studentica, koja je bila u trećem semestru medicine, tvrdi da nije imala simptome, a nije ni primijetila bilo kakvu promjenu na vratu.

Daniel Lichtenthaler, koji je liječnik specijaliziran za gerijatriju i medicinsku praksu, kaže za BBC News Brazil da je primijetio da je Gabriellina štitnjača imala značajan i asimetrični rast. Zbog toga ju je pozvao da bude model prilikom demonstracije pregleda vrata.

"Koliko se sjećam, prvi učenik korišten kao model imao je malu štitnjaču, što je normalno. Tada sam brzo pogledao u vrat nekih studenata i Gabrijela mi je zapela za oko", kaže liječnik.

Čvorovi štitnjače smatraju se uobičajenim i često se lako identificiraju zbog istaknutog položaja žlijezde u središnjem području vrata. U mnogim slučajevima, prema liječnicima, sam pacijent može osjetiti tu razliku dodirujući ovaj dio tijela. Dobra vijest je da je oko 95% ovih kvržica benigno. A ako je pacijentu dijagnosticiran rak, šanse za izlječenje bolesti u ovom području su vrlo velike - postoje istraživanja koja procjenjuju da oko 97% bolesnika bude izliječeno.

Studenticu medicine spasio profesor: ‘Da nisam taj dan otišla na nastavu, možda ne bih tako brzo saznala za rak‘

Studentica medicine Gabriella Barboza stigla je na fakultet na predavanja kao i uvijek. Tog dana su učili o fizičkim pregledima u području glave i vrata. U jednom trenutku, djevojku je pozvao profesor Daniel Lichtenthaler da mu bude  model pri prezentaciji kako treba pregledati vrat. "Zvao me je kako bi objasnio tehniku pipkanja štitnjače", prisjeća se Gabriella za BBC News Brazil.

Dok je profesor pokazivao kako se treba pregledati vrat ispred ostalih studenata koji su pažljivo promatrali, Gabriella je primijetila da se on ponašao drugačije nego prije. "Mislim da se bojao razgovarati tamo, ali primijetila sam da nešto nije normalno", kaže djevojka.
