Ukupno trećina američkih roditelja nema plan cijepiti svoju djecu protiv gripe ove godine, prema rezultatima koje je National Poll on Children's Health objavio u ponedjeljak.
Unatoč činjenici da se i djeca mogu zaraziti koronavirusom i isto tako biti prijenosnici bolesti Covid-19, roditelji ne pokazuju nikakvu sklonost cjepivu protiv gripe - unatoč upozorenjima da se kombinacija gripe i koronavirusa u nekim slučajevima može pokazati ekstremno opasnom, javlja CNN.
Čak dvije trećine ispitanih roditelja ne vjeruje da je ove godine cjepivo protiv gripe išta važnije njihoome djetetu, unatoč tome što su preporuku poslali pedijatri i zdravstvene organizacije.
Rizične skupine
- Djeca mlađa od 5 godina, naročito oni mlađi od 2 godine, spadaju u visokorizičnu skupinu kad su u pitanju komplikacije vezane uz gripu, upozoravaju iz Centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti, uz dodatak kako je u uvjetima pandemije cijepljenje ovih dobnih skupina važnije nego ikad.
- Mogli bismo imati vrhunac gripe i koronavirusa u isto vrijeme, a to bi moglo pridonijeti zasićenju zdravstvenog sustava te shodno tome našim mogućnostima da obje respiratorne bolesti liječimo kod pacijenata na najbolji način..., upozorila je pedijatrica Sarah Clark koja je sudjelovala na istraživanju.
I dr. Anthony Fauci, vodeći infektolog u SAD-u, upozorio je kako je cjepivo protiv gripe ove godine važnije nego ikad.
- Trebali biste se cijepiti najkasnije do kraja listopada. Ako vam je dostupno sada, trebali biste se cijepiti sada. Ne odgađajte to za kasnije, poručio je liječnik.
Statistika, nažalost pokazuje kako od gripe svake godine stradavaju i djeca. Prošle godine u SAD-u je zabilježeno 188 pedijatrijskih smrtnih slučajeva povezanih s gripom. CDC upozorava kako je ovaj broj samo "vrh ledene sante" jer se brojni slučajevi još uvijek ne prijavljuju.
Upozoravaju stručnjaci i kako je bolest prouzrokovana virusom gripe mnogo ozbiljnija od prehlade, stoga je kod neke djece potrebna i bolnička njega. Između 7000 i 26000 djece u dobi ispod 5 godina hospitalizirano je od posljedica zaraze tim virusom svake godine.
Posljedice gripe
Neke od posljedica gripe na dječje zdravlje mogu biti i:
- oticanje mozfga (encefalopatija)
- dehidracija (također može biti smrtonosna)
- upala pluća (koja ubije jedno dijete u svijetu svakih 39 sekundi, upozorava UNICEF)
- pogoršanje urođenih bolesti poput astme i bolesti srca
- pogoršanje problema s ušnim infekcijama ili sinusima
Simptomi gripe i koronavirusa mogu biti slični - suhi kašalj koji se pogoršava, bolovi u tijelu i mišićima, upaljeno grlo i slinav nos.
A iako se Covid-19 pokazao manje opasnim za djecu, zabilježeni su neki tragični slučajevi. U jeku pandemije u Kini, preminula je beba, a u SAD-u, u ožujku, jedno novorođenče. 9-godišnja Kimora Lynum preminula je na Floridi u srpnju, a u kolovozu je zbog komplikacija od koronavirusa umro 6-godišnjak. Također je i 1-godišnja beba s prethodnim dijagnozama izgubila život, piše CNN.

Ukupno trećina američkih roditelja nema plan cijepiti svoju djecu protiv gripe ove godine, prema rezultatima koje je National Poll on Children's Health objavio u ponedjeljak.
Unatoč činjenici da se i djeca mogu zaraziti koronavirusom i isto tako biti prijenosnici bolesti Covid-19, roditelji ne pokazuju nikakvu sklonost cjepivu protiv gripe - unatoč upozorenjima da se kombinacija gripe i koronavirusa u nekim slučajevima može pokazati ekstremno opasnom, javlja CNN.
Čak dvije trećine ispitanih roditelja ne vjeruje da je ove godine cjepivo protiv gripe išta važnije njihoome djetetu, unatoč tome što su preporuku poslali pedijatri i zdravstvene organizacije.
Rizične skupine
- Djeca mlađa od 5 godina, naročito oni mlađi od 2 godine, spadaju u visokorizičnu skupinu kad su u pitanju komplikacije vezane uz gripu, upozoravaju iz Centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti, uz dodatak kako je u uvjetima pandemije cijepljenje ovih dobnih skupina važnije nego ikad.
- Mogli bismo imati vrhunac gripe i koronavirusa u isto vrijeme, a to bi moglo pridonijeti zasićenju zdravstvenog sustava te shodno tome našim mogućnostima da obje respiratorne bolesti liječimo kod pacijenata na najbolji način..., upozorila je pedijatrica Sarah Clark koja je sudjelovala na istraživanju.
I dr. Anthony Fauci, vodeći infektolog u SAD-u, upozorio je kako je cjepivo protiv gripe ove godine važnije nego ikad.
- Trebali biste se cijepiti najkasnije do kraja listopada. Ako vam je dostupno sada, trebali biste se cijepiti sada. Ne odgađajte to za kasnije, poručio je liječnik.
Statistika, nažalost pokazuje kako od gripe svake godine stradavaju i djeca. Prošle godine u SAD-u je zabilježeno 188 pedijatrijskih smrtnih slučajeva povezanih s gripom. CDC upozorava kako je ovaj broj samo "vrh ledene sante" jer se brojni slučajevi još uvijek ne prijavljuju.
Upozoravaju stručnjaci i kako je bolest prouzrokovana virusom gripe mnogo ozbiljnija od prehlade, stoga je kod neke djece potrebna i bolnička njega. Između 7000 i 26000 djece u dobi ispod 5 godina hospitalizirano je od posljedica zaraze tim virusom svake godine.
Posljedice gripe
Neke od posljedica gripe na dječje zdravlje mogu biti i:
- oticanje mozfga (encefalopatija)
- dehidracija (također može biti smrtonosna)
- upala pluća (koja ubije jedno dijete u svijetu svakih 39 sekundi, upozorava UNICEF)
- pogoršanje urođenih bolesti poput astme i bolesti srca
- pogoršanje problema s ušnim infekcijama ili sinusima
Simptomi gripe i koronavirusa mogu biti slični - suhi kašalj koji se pogoršava, bolovi u tijelu i mišićima, upaljeno grlo i slinav nos.
A iako se Covid-19 pokazao manje opasnim za djecu, zabilježeni su neki tragični slučajevi. U jeku pandemije u Kini, preminula je beba, a u SAD-u, u ožujku, jedno novorođenče. 9-godišnja Kimora Lynum preminula je na Floridi u srpnju, a u kolovozu je zbog komplikacija od koronavirusa umro 6-godišnjak. Također je i 1-godišnja beba s prethodnim dijagnozama izgubila život, piše CNN.
