Među najranijim znakovima demencije su promjene raspoloženja i osobnosti koje otkrivaju buru emocija, kaže britanska liječnica i spisateljica dr. Monika Wassermann dodajući da emocije mogu imati vrlo širok raspon, od ljutnje, razdraženosti i anksioznosti do uznemirenosti, piše Živim.

U nekim slučajevima, osobe koje razviju demenciju mogu doživjeti „emocionalnu odvojenost”. To osobama koje ih okružuju može izgledati kako socijalno izoliranje i gubitak empatije. Ističe da se oboljeli u svemu tome hrvaju s mnoštvom konfliktnih emocija, boreći se da nekako pronađu ravnotežu. Još jedan mogući znak demencije je prisustvo konfuznosti i dezorijentiranosti.

- Demencija uzrokuje dubok osjećaj konfuznosti i dezorijentacije, pretvarajući nekoć poznate ambijente, lica i predmete u neistraženu divljinu. Oboljeli mogu postati izgubljeni u svojim vlastitim mislima, nailaziti na poteškoće u kretanju poznatim putevima i predjelima, gubiti pojam o vremenu te zagubljivati svoje stvari - kaže dr. Wassermann. Napominje i da se svaki razgovor za njih pretvara u komplicirani labirint s obzirom na to da se muče da izraze svoje misli na povezan način. No, „zaštitni” znak demencije je gubitak pamćenja zbog kojeg se oboljeli muče da se prisjete nedavnih događaja, nekih osnovnih informacija pa čak i imena bliskih osoba. Osobe koje obole od te devastirajuće bolesti sve više se oslanjaju na dugoročno pamćenje jer ih nedavna događanja iz dana u dan sve više zbunjuju.

- Fragmenti njihovog nekad vrlo živog pamćenja kao da im bježe iz glave zbog čega sve više čeznu za nekom stabilnošću u stvarnosti koja im izmiče „iz ruku”. Kognitivno propadanje je također klasičan simptom demencije koji utječe na sposobnosti razmišljanja, rješavanja problema i donošenja odluka. Koncentracija postaje sve više otežana s obzirom na to da se oboljeli muče kako bi se fokusirali na nešto i pažnja im se vrlo lako raspršuje - opisuje dr. Wassermann. Svatko tko pokazuje takve simptome demencije treba što prije biti upućen na detaljne pretrage te u neurološku ambulantu.

Savjet za one koji brinu o osobi s demencijom

Mnoge osobe s demencijom vrlo se lako zbune, postanu tjeskobne i uznemirene uslijed frustracije zbog svojih kognitivnih poteškoća ili promjena u ponašanju.

Mogu postati vrlo rastresene, izgubljene u svijetu oko sebe te zaboraviti odnose i veze s nekim ljudima kao i izgubiti vještine potrebne za održavanje veza s okolinom. Također, mnoge osobe s demencijom imaju takozvani sindrom zalaza sunca, odnosno postaju nešto aktivnije kasno poslijepodne i u rane večernje sate (vjerojatno zbog promjena u njihovom općem i moždanom metabolizmu uslijed metaboličkih utjecaja izazvanih cirkadijalnim ritmom). Skrbnici bi trebali biti strpljivi i otvoreni prema promjenama u njihovom razmišljanju, emocijama i načinu ponašanja koji zapravo odražavaju individualne varijacije kako u fiziologiji tako i u samoj bolesti oboljele osobe.

Brinete li o osobi s demencijom ključno je shvatiti da je apatija najznačajnija barijera za visoku kvalitetu života. Nepomično cjelodnevno sjedenje i nekomuniciranje s drugima, kao i nesudjelovanje u bilo kakvoj fizičkoj aktivnosti negativno utječu na zglobove, mišiće i mozak. Kad ne radite ništa cijeli dan, mozak još brže propada. Ljudi imaju primarnu potrebu da pripadaju grupi. Bilo da vaša bliska osoba živi u nekoj ustanovi ili još uvijek živi s vama, ključno je da joj osigurate prilike da bude u kontaktu i u interakciji s drugim ljudima jer će to imati vrlo dubok pozitivan utjecaj na njezino emocionalno zdravlje.

Među najranijim znakovima demencije su promjene raspoloženja i osobnosti koje otkrivaju buru emocija, kaže britanska liječnica i spisateljica dr. Monika Wassermann dodajući da emocije mogu imati vrlo širok raspon, od ljutnje, razdraženosti i anksioznosti do uznemirenosti, piše Živim.

U nekim slučajevima, osobe koje razviju demenciju mogu doživjeti „emocionalnu odvojenost”. To osobama koje ih okružuju može izgledati kako socijalno izoliranje i gubitak empatije. Ističe da se oboljeli u svemu tome hrvaju s mnoštvom konfliktnih emocija, boreći se da nekako pronađu ravnotežu. Još jedan mogući znak demencije je prisustvo konfuznosti i dezorijentiranosti.

- Demencija uzrokuje dubok osjećaj konfuznosti i dezorijentacije, pretvarajući nekoć poznate ambijente, lica i predmete u neistraženu divljinu. Oboljeli mogu postati izgubljeni u svojim vlastitim mislima, nailaziti na poteškoće u kretanju poznatim putevima i predjelima, gubiti pojam o vremenu te zagubljivati svoje stvari - kaže dr. Wassermann. Napominje i da se svaki razgovor za njih pretvara u komplicirani labirint s obzirom na to da se muče da izraze svoje misli na povezan način. No, „zaštitni” znak demencije je gubitak pamćenja zbog kojeg se oboljeli muče da se prisjete nedavnih događaja, nekih osnovnih informacija pa čak i imena bliskih osoba. Osobe koje obole od te devastirajuće bolesti sve više se oslanjaju na dugoročno pamćenje jer ih nedavna događanja iz dana u dan sve više zbunjuju.

- Fragmenti njihovog nekad vrlo živog pamćenja kao da im bježe iz glave zbog čega sve više čeznu za nekom stabilnošću u stvarnosti koja im izmiče „iz ruku”. Kognitivno propadanje je također klasičan simptom demencije koji utječe na sposobnosti razmišljanja, rješavanja problema i donošenja odluka. Savjet za one koji brinu o osobi s demencijom

Mnoge osobe s demencijom vrlo se lako zbune, postanu tjeskobne i uznemirene uslijed frustracije zbog svojih kognitivnih poteškoća ili promjena u ponašanju.

Mogu postati vrlo rastresene, izgubljene u svijetu oko sebe te zaboraviti odnose i veze s nekim ljudima kao i izgubiti vještine potrebne za održavanje veza s okolinom. Također, mnoge osobe s demencijom imaju takozvani sindrom zalaza sunca, odnosno postaju nešto aktivnije kasno poslijepodne i u rane večernje sate (vjerojatno zbog promjena u njihovom općem i moždanom metabolizmu uslijed metaboličkih utjecaja izazvanih cirkadijalnim ritmom). Skrbnici bi trebali biti strpljivi i otvoreni prema promjenama u njihovom razmišljanju, emocijama i načinu ponašanja koji zapravo odražavaju individualne varijacije kako u fiziologiji tako i u samoj bolesti oboljele osobe.

Brinete li o osobi s demencijom ključno je shvatiti da je apatija najznačajnija barijera za visoku kvalitetu života. Nepomično cjelodnevno sjedenje i nekomuniciranje s drugima, kao i nesudjelovanje u bilo kakvoj fizičkoj aktivnosti negativno utječu na zglobove, mišiće i mozak. Kad ne radite ništa cijeli dan, mozak još brže propada. Ljudi imaju primarnu potrebu da pripadaju grupi. Bilo da vaša bliska osoba živi u nekoj ustanovi ili još uvijek živi s vama, ključno je da joj osigurate prilike da bude u kontaktu i u interakciji s drugim ljudima jer će to imati vrlo dubok pozitivan utjecaj na njezino emocionalno zdravlje.

Među najranijim znakovima demencije su promjene raspoloženja i osobnosti koje otkrivaju buru emocija, kaže britanska liječnica i spisateljica dr. Monika Wassermann dodajući da emocije mogu imati vrlo širok raspon, od ljutnje, razdraženosti i anksioznosti do uznemirenosti, piše Živim.

U nekim slučajevima, osobe koje razviju demenciju mogu doživjeti „emocionalnu odvojenost”. To osobama koje ih okružuju može izgledati kako socijalno izoliranje i gubitak empatije. Ističe da se oboljeli u svemu tome hrvaju s mnoštvom konfliktnih emocija, boreći se da nekako pronađu ravnotežu. Još jedan mogući znak demencije je prisustvo konfuznosti i dezorijentiranosti.

- Demencija uzrokuje dubok osjećaj konfuznosti i dezorijentacije, pretvarajući nekoć poznate ambijente, lica i predmete u neistraženu divljinu. Oboljeli mogu postati izgubljeni u svojim vlastitim mislima, nailaziti na poteškoće u kretanju poznatim putevima i predjelima, gubiti pojam o vremenu te zagubljivati svoje stvari - kaže dr. Wassermann. Napominje i da se svaki razgovor za njih pretvara u komplicirani labirint s obzirom na to da se muče da izraze svoje misli na povezan način.
