Britanska novinarka Lisa Brinkworth koja tvrdi kako je bila seksualno zlostavljana od strane francuskog modnog mogula Geralda Marie dok je potajno radila na razotkrivanju seksualnih zločina u modnoj industriji za BBC-jev dokumentarac odlučila je pozvati i ostale modele koje su proživjele isto traumatično iskustvo s Marie da svjedoče i na sudu, piše Jutarnji list.

Naime, Brinkworth je potvrdila kako ju je Marie zlostavljao 1998. dok je uz novinara Donala MacIntyrea snimala dokumentarac, a još osam žrtava 72-godišnjeg tajkuna, inače bivšeg supruga nekadašnjeg top modela Linde Evangeliste, svoj će slučaj izložiti za potrebe produljenja zastare na više od 20 godina predstavnicima Europskog parlamenta. Žene koje su se prozvale Victorious Angels (pobjedničke anđelice, op.a.) tvrde kako su bile "spriječene" u traženju pravde upravo zbog zastare za takve vrste zločina u Francuskoj te naglašavaju kako se time i dalje "štiti njihova zlostavljača".

Inače, u to vrijeme trebalo je prijaviti seksualni napad unutar tri godine, dok je zastara za silovanje nastupala nakon deset godina. Iako su se sporni napadi dogodili prije više od 20 godina, ovaj je slučaj u Francuskoj ostao otvoren jer su tamošnji odvjetnici tvrdili da je BBC-jeva nagodba s Marie‘s Elite model agencijom oko dokumentarca spriječila novinarku i modele da progovore ranije.

Iako je njezin slučaj još uvijek u tijeku, 55-godišnja Brinkworth napomenula je da neće nastaviti s njim ako se sve ostale žrtve ne saslušaju kao svjedoci.

S druge strane, Gerald Marie kategorički je odbacio sve optužbe protiv njega.

"Sve smo doživjele nasilje od strane ovih bivših modnih agenata. Kad smo napokon progovorile protiv njihovih djela i ispričale svoje priče o tome što nam se dogodilo prije više od dva desetljeća, žrtve Geralda Marie našle su se spriječene uredbom o zastari u Francuskoj, koja i dalje štiti našeg zlostavljača. Sad posvećujemo našu dugogodišnju misiju tome da učinimo Europu sigurnijim mjestom i osiguramo da buduće žrtve seksualnog nasilja imaju dostupne pravne lijekove koji su nama bili uskraćeni", naglasila je Brinkworth.

Za napomenuti je da konferenciju u Europskom parlamentu koordinira Omar Harfouch, libanonski biznismen i političar te bivši dioničar Elitea koji je svojevremeno na policiji svjedočio protiv Marie, te će tražiti od svih zemalja članica da usklade zakone vezane uz seksualno nasilje kao i njihovu zastaru.

Inače, Brinkworth je potvrdila kako ju je Marie napao tijekom večere s prijateljima kad ju je pribio na stolac u klubu. Njezin kolega Donal McIntyre i ostali prisutni su tome posvjedočili, no u to vrijeme novinarka to nije prijavila jer bi to omelo njezino istraživanje. U tužbi koju je konačno podnijela francuskim nadležnim tijelima 20. rujna 2020. opisala je sramotnu i ponižavajuću situaciju u koju je Marie tada doveo tražeći je seks u zamjenu za novac.

U dokumentima koji su u lipnju dostavljeni sudu u Parizu tvrdi se kako BBC nije želio da Brinkworth poduzme pravne korake. Elite je tužio BBC nakon što su emitirali optužbe u dokumentarcu 1999., a 2001. televizijska je kuća pristala, u sklopu povjerljivog dogovora, da više nikad ne prikazuje sporni program. Brinkworth nije bila dijelom tog dogovora, pa je na nju vršen pritisak od strane agencije Elite kako bi je ušutkali. Također je dodala da joj je BBC osiguravao zaštitu tri godine, od 1999. do 2001., tijekom kojih je boravila u tri sigurne kuće okružene električnom ogradom, piše Jutarnji list.

Britanska novinarka Lisa Brinkworth koja tvrdi kako je bila seksualno zlostavljana od strane francuskog modnog mogula Geralda Marie dok je potajno radila na razotkrivanju seksualnih zločina u modnoj industriji za BBC-jev dokumentarac odlučila je pozvati i ostale modele koje su proživjele isto traumatično iskustvo s Marie da svjedoče i na sudu, piše Jutarnji list.

Naime, Brinkworth je potvrdila kako ju je Marie zlostavljao 1998. dok je uz novinara Donala MacIntyrea snimala dokumentarac, a još osam žrtava 72-godišnjeg tajkuna, inače bivšeg supruga nekadašnjeg top modela Linde Evangeliste, svoj će slučaj izložiti za potrebe produljenja zastare na više od 20 godina predstavnicima Europskog parlamenta. Žene koje su se prozvale Victorious Angels (pobjedničke anđelice, op.a.) tvrde kako su bile "spriječene" u traženju pravde upravo zbog zastare za takve vrste zločina u Francuskoj te naglašavaju kako se time i dalje "štiti njihova zlostavljača".

Inače, u to vrijeme trebalo je prijaviti seksualni napad unutar tri godine, dok je zastara za silovanje nastupala nakon deset godina. Iako su se sporni napadi dogodili prije više od 20 godina, ovaj je slučaj u Francuskoj ostao otvoren jer su tamošnji odvjetnici tvrdili da je BBC-jeva nagodba s Marie‘s Elite model agencijom oko dokumentarca spriječila novinarku i modele da progovore ranije.

Iako je njezin slučaj još uvijek u tijeku, 55-godišnja Brinkworth napomenula je da neće nastaviti s njim ako se sve ostale žrtve ne saslušaju kao svjedoci.

S druge strane, Gerald Marie kategorički je odbacio sve optužbe protiv njega.

"Sve smo doživjele nasilje od strane ovih bivših modnih agenata. Kad smo napokon progovorile protiv njihovih djela i ispričale svoje priče o tome što nam se dogodilo prije više od dva desetljeća, žrtve Geralda Marie našle su se spriječene uredbom o zastari u Francuskoj, koja i dalje štiti našeg zlostavljača. Sad posvećujemo našu dugogodišnju misiju tome da učinimo Europu sigurnijim mjestom i osiguramo da buduće žrtve seksualnog nasilja imaju dostupne pravne lijekove koji su nama bili uskraćeni", naglasila je Brinkworth.

Za napomenuti je da konferenciju u Europskom parlamentu koordinira Omar Harfouch, libanonski biznismen i političar te bivši dioničar Elitea koji je svojevremeno na policiji svjedočio protiv Marie, te će tražiti od svih zemalja članica da usklade zakone vezane uz seksualno nasilje kao i njihovu zastaru.

Inače, Brinkworth je potvrdila kako ju je Marie napao tijekom večere s prijateljima kad ju je pribio na stolac u klubu. Njezin kolega Donal McIntyre i ostali prisutni su tome posvjedočili, no u to vrijeme novinarka to nije prijavila jer bi to omelo njezino istraživanje. U tužbi koju je konačno podnijela francuskim nadležnim tijelima 20. rujna 2020. opisala je sramotnu i ponižavajuću situaciju u koju je Marie tada doveo tražeći je seks u zamjenu za novac.

U dokumentima koji su u lipnju dostavljeni sudu u Parizu tvrdi se kako BBC nije želio da Brinkworth poduzme pravne korake. Elite je tužio BBC nakon što su emitirali optužbe u dokumentarcu 1999., a 2001. televizijska je kuća pristala, u sklopu povjerljivog dogovora, da više nikad ne prikazuje sporni program. Brinkworth nije bila dijelom tog dogovora, pa je na nju vršen pritisak od strane agencije Elite kako bi je ušutkali. Također je dodala da joj je BBC osiguravao zaštitu tri godine, od 1999. do 2001., tijekom kojih je boravila u tri sigurne kuće okružene električnom ogradom, piše Jutarnji list.

Britanska novinarka Lisa Brinkworth koja tvrdi kako je bila seksualno zlostavljana od strane francuskog modnog mogula Geralda Marie dok je potajno radila na razotkrivanju seksualnih zločina u modnoj industriji za BBC-jev dokumentarac odlučila je pozvati i ostale modele koje su proživjele isto traumatično iskustvo s Marie da svjedoče i na sudu, piše Jutarnji list.

Naime, Brinkworth je potvrdila kako ju je Marie zlostavljao 1998. dok je uz novinara Donala MacIntyrea snimala dokumentarac, a još osam žrtava 72-godišnjeg tajkuna, inače bivšeg supruga nekadašnjeg top modela Linde Evangeliste, svoj će slučaj izložiti za potrebe produljenja zastare na više od 20 godina predstavnicima Europskog parlamenta.
