Trevor Milton, osnivač tvrtke Nikola Corporation i jedan od 50 najbogatijih Amerikanaca, dao je ostavku na mjesto izvršnog direktora svoje kompanije te će ga, premda Milton i dalje ostaje najveći dioničar, na čelnom mjestu korporacije naslijediti Stephen Girsky, bivši potpredsjednik General Motorsa i član uprave Nikole.
Ostavku je u priopćenju potvrdila sama kompanija Nikola u ponedjeljak, a ovaj potez Trevora Miltona u poslovnim je krugovima, ali i šire, protumačen kao rezultat skandala koji već danima potresa Nikolu.
Naime, prije dva tjedna izašao je izvještaj investicijske tvrtke Hindenburg Research, u kojem su izvijestili da tvrtka Nikola Motor Company, koja od 2016. radi na navodno "revolucionarnom", električnom, vodikovim ćelijama pokretanom kamionu Nikola One, zapravo nema nikakvu tehnologiju, a posebno ne tehnologiju vodikovih ćelija potrebnu za pokretanje takvog kamiona.
Jurnjava na nizbrdici
Hindenburg Research je naveo da je u videu koji je Nikola stavio online početkom 2018., a u kojem se vidi njihov kamion Nikola One kako juri cestom, zapravo sniman – na nizbrdici.
Pojednostavljeno govoreći, kamion s prikolicom postavljen je na vrh goleme uzbrdice, a onda je sniman tako da odaje dojam kako velikom brzinom juri ravnom cestom.

Nakon početnih ignoriranja izvještaja, Trevor Milton izdao je priopćenje, koje jest bilo opširno, ali koje zapravo nije demantiralo tvrdnje o "namještenom" propagandnom videu.
Dapače, Milton je objavio da u Nikoli "nikad nisu izrijekom rekli da kamion u videu vozi na vlastiti pogon", a da su investitori u tvrtku, koja je tada još bila u privatnom vlasništvu i nije na burzi javno trgovala dionicama, bili upoznati sa stvarnim tehnološkim napretkom Nikole One.
Usprkos svim dvojbama o kojima se počelo spekulirati još u ožujku ove godine, kad je Nikola izišao na burzu, Nikolin partner je bio i ostao General Motors, čiji bivši potpredsjednik sada preuzima Miltonovo mjesto u Nikoli.
Analitičare kopka u čemu je "kvaka" toga partnerstva, budući da GM slovi kao promišljena i moćna tvrtka. Kako se sada čini, Nikola nije razvio ni konstrukciju kamiona, koja je GM-ova, ni baterijski sustav, ni vodikove ćelije, koje su, navodno, također GM-ove i zapravo su još uvijek u razvoju.
Spekulira se da je tajna ovog partnerstva u navodno Nikolinoj tehnologiji za proizvodnju vodika po cijenama četiri puta nižim od trenutnih na tržištu, premda tu tehnologiju, čini se, nitko nije vidio.
Kako god da jest, vrijednost dionica Nikole na Wall Streetu samo u proteklih tjedan dana pala je za čak 30 posto.
Tvrtke na sudu
Je li priča o Nikoli, kompaniji pokrenutoj prije šest godina, čiji većinski vlasnik Trevor Milton "teži" 3,2 milijarde dolara, kako se sada čini, jedna od najvećih investicijskih prijevara u povijesti biznisa, sigurno će se doznati uskoro.
Vjerojatno je da će odlazak Miltona s čelne pozicije Nikole utjecati i na tijek mnogobrojnih parnica između Nikole i njegova "imenjaka", ali i ljutog konkurenta Tesle i njezina direktora Elona Muska.

Oba proizvođača vozila iz Amerike koriste ime u čast velikana iz Smiljana, Nikole Tesle, jedan za električne automobile, a drugi za električne kamione. Zahvaljujući i Nikoli i Tesli ime – i prezime! – našeg Nikole Tesle, koji je bez prebijene pare umro u New Yorku prije skoro 80 godina, itekako je živo. I vrijedno!
Nikola vrijedi oko 23 milijarde dolara, a Tesla 208 milijardi dolara.
No, prije dvije godine je Nikola Motors podnio tužbu saveznom sudu u Arizoni u kojoj tvrde da je Teslin novi, posve električni kamion neovlašteno koristio njihove patente.
U parnici "Nikola kontra Tesle" Milton tvrdi kako je Tesla namjerno kopirao patente kako bi napravio svoj električni kamion, za što traže odštetu od dvije milijarde dolara zbog navodnog kopiranja njihova sad već nesretnog kamiona Nikola One i drugih rješenja koje Nikola smatra svojima.

Međutim, istina je da Tesla svoje električne automobile proizvodi već godinama, a da su kamioni Nikola još uvijek tek atraktivne zvijezde videomaterijala. A i oni su, čini se, ljuta "štela" i dobro smišljena varka.

Trevor Milton, osnivač tvrtke Nikola Corporation i jedan od 50 najbogatijih Amerikanaca, dao je ostavku na mjesto izvršnog direktora svoje kompanije te će ga, premda Milton i dalje ostaje najveći dioničar, na čelnom mjestu korporacije naslijediti Stephen Girsky, bivši potpredsjednik General Motorsa i član uprave Nikole.
Ostavku je u priopćenju potvrdila sama kompanija Nikola u ponedjeljak, a ovaj potez Trevora Miltona u poslovnim je krugovima, ali i šire, protumačen kao rezultat skandala koji već danima potresa Nikolu.
Naime, prije dva tjedna izašao je izvještaj investicijske tvrtke Hindenburg Research, u kojem su izvijestili da tvrtka Nikola Motor Company, koja od 2016. radi na navodno "revolucionarnom", električnom, vodikovim ćelijama pokretanom kamionu Nikola One, zapravo nema nikakvu tehnologiju, a posebno ne tehnologiju vodikovih ćelija potrebnu za pokretanje takvog kamiona.
Jurnjava na nizbrdici
Hindenburg Research je naveo da je u videu koji je Nikola stavio online početkom 2018., a u kojem se vidi njihov kamion Nikola One kako juri cestom, zapravo sniman – na nizbrdici.
Pojednostavljeno govoreći, kamion s prikolicom postavljen je na vrh goleme uzbrdice, a onda je sniman tako da odaje dojam kako velikom brzinom juri ravnom cestom.

Nakon početnih ignoriranja izvještaja, Trevor Milton izdao je priopćenje, koje jest bilo opširno, ali koje zapravo nije demantiralo tvrdnje o "namještenom" propagandnom videu.
Dapače, Milton je objavio da u Nikoli "nikad nisu izrijekom rekli da kamion u videu vozi na vlastiti pogon", a da su investitori u tvrtku, koja je tada još bila u privatnom vlasništvu i nije na burzi javno trgovala dionicama, bili upoznati sa stvarnim tehnološkim napretkom Nikole One.
Usprkos svim dvojbama o kojima se počelo spekulirati još u ožujku ove godine, kad je Nikola izišao na burzu, Nikolin partner je bio i ostao General Motors, čiji bivši potpredsjednik sada preuzima Miltonovo mjesto u Nikoli.
Analitičare kopka u čemu je "kvaka" toga partnerstva, budući da GM slovi kao promišljena i moćna tvrtka. Kako se sada čini, Nikola nije razvio ni konstrukciju kamiona, koja je GM-ova, ni baterijski sustav, ni vodikove ćelije, koje su, navodno, također GM-ove i zapravo su još uvijek u razvoju.
Spekulira se da je tajna ovog partnerstva u navodno Nikolinoj tehnologiji za proizvodnju vodika po cijenama četiri puta nižim od trenutnih na tržištu, premda tu tehnologiju, čini se, nitko nije vidio.
Kako god da jest, vrijednost dionica Nikole na Wall Streetu samo u proteklih tjedan dana pala je za čak 30 posto.
Tvrtke na sudu
Je li priča o Nikoli, kompaniji pokrenutoj prije šest godina, čiji većinski vlasnik Trevor Milton "teži" 3,2 milijarde dolara, kako se sada čini, jedna od najvećih investicijskih prijevara u povijesti biznisa, sigurno će se doznati uskoro.
Vjerojatno je da će odlazak Miltona s čelne pozicije Nikole utjecati i na tijek mnogobrojnih parnica između Nikole i njegova "imenjaka", ali i ljutog konkurenta Tesle i njezina direktora Elona Muska.

Oba proizvođača vozila iz Amerike koriste ime u čast velikana iz Smiljana, Nikole Tesle, jedan za električne automobile, a drugi za električne kamione. Zahvaljujući i Nikoli i Tesli ime – i prezime! – našeg Nikole Tesle, koji je bez prebijene pare umro u New Yorku prije skoro 80 godina, itekako je živo. I vrijedno!
Nikola vrijedi oko 23 milijarde dolara, a Tesla 208 milijardi dolara.
No, prije dvije godine je Nikola Motors podnio tužbu saveznom sudu u Arizoni u kojoj tvrde da je Teslin novi, posve električni kamion neovlašteno koristio njihove patente.
U parnici "Nikola kontra Tesle" Milton tvrdi kako je Tesla namjerno kopirao patente kako bi napravio svoj električni kamion, za što traže odštetu od dvije milijarde dolara zbog navodnog kopiranja njihova sad već nesretnog kamiona Nikola One i drugih rješenja koje Nikola smatra svojima.

Međutim, istina je da Tesla svoje električne automobile proizvodi već godinama, a da su kamioni Nikola još uvijek tek atraktivne zvijezde videomaterijala. A i oni su, čini se, ljuta "štela" i dobro smišljena varka.
