Nakon premjernog predstavljanja u Institutu za suvremenu umjetnost u Zagrebu, projekt “on Water Smoke the” Nike Mihaljevića gostuje i u Splitu, u splitskom Salonu Galić.
Samostalnu izložbu našeg nagrađivanog multimedijalnog umjetnika, koju je postavila Hrvatska udruga likovnih umjetnika, otvara se u petak 28. veljače u 20 sati, a može se razgledati do 17. ožujka.
Inače, Niko Mihaljević je dobitnik Nagrade “Radoslav Putar” 2016. (Young Visual Artists Awards) za najboljeg mladog hrvatskog umjetnika. Zvučna kompozicija Nike Mihaljevića “on Water Smoke the” inspirirana je permutacijskom poezijom Briona Gysina i glazbom hard rock sastava Deep Purple, a sastoji se od svih mogućih permutacija 12 tonova glavne gitarske dionice pjesme “Smoke on the Water”.
Budući da postoji 479.001.600 permutacija, od kojih svaka traje oko osam sekundi, trajanje kompozicije iznosi 130 godina i 13 dana. Prva javna izvedba započela je na web-stranici www.onwatersmokethe.com u petak 10. 01. 2020., a završit će se u subotu 24. 01. 2150.
Brion Gysin, slikar, performer, pjesnik i mistik koji je nadahnuo Mihaljevića, 1960. je za radio BBC snimio seriju snimki zvučne poezije poznatu pod imenom “permutacijske pjesme”. Ove se zasnivaju na široj ideji “cut-up metode” do koje je Gysin došao surađujući s Williamom S. Burroughsom.
Uglavnom, pjesme su specifične po tome što se sastoje od jedne fraze koja se ponavlja, tako da se riječi linearno rearanžiraju u svim mogućim kombinacijama. Ove kombinacije, odnosno permutacije, bile su stvorene pomoću kompjuterskog programa koji je napisao Ian Sommerville. Prema matematičkoj definiciji permutacije, to je “svaki mogući linearni razmještaj elemenata neke određene skupine”.

S druge strane, britanski hard rock sastav Deep Purple je 1972. na albumu “Machine Head” objavio pjesmu “Smoke on the Water”, koje je postala instant hit. Središnja tema pjesme, gitarska dionica od 12 tonova koju je skladao i odsvirao gitarist Ritchie Blackmore, vjerojatno je najtipičnijih dvanaest tonova u povijesti pop i rock glazbe.
Svi klinci koji maštaju o statusu gitarskog heroja, započnu svirajući ovu temu.
Zvučnu kompoziciju “on Water Smoke the” koja spaja gitarsku dionicu Ritchieja Blackmorea s Gysinovom permutacijskom metodom Niko Mihaljević je složio na način da je 12-tonsku gitarsku dionicu preuzeo iz izvorne snimke “Smoke on the Water” te je rearanžirao u svim mogućim permutacijama, na sve moguće pogrešne načine.
Broj permutacija koje je dobio na taj način je nasaglediv, ima ih 479.001.600 (četiristo sedamdeset i devet milijuna jedna tisuća i šeststo), a kako trajanje jedne permutacije iznosi oko osam sekundi, ukupno trajanje “Mihaljevićeve skladbe” je 130 godina i 13 dana. Ona traje i u ovom trenutku na web-stranici www.onwatersmokethe.com; započela je u petak 10. 1. 2020., a završit će u subotu 24. 1. 2150. godine.
Na kraju njezina izvođenja Nike Mihaljevića će se sjećati kao konceptualnog umjetnika i dizajnera vizualnih komunikacija rodom iz Splita, koji je radio kao samostalni grafički dizajner u Zagrebu, gdje je i predavao na odjelu Medijskog dizajna Sveučilišta Sjever.

Nakon premjernog predstavljanja u Institutu za suvremenu umjetnost u Zagrebu, projekt “on Water Smoke the” Nike Mihaljevića gostuje i u Splitu, u splitskom Salonu Galić.
Samostalnu izložbu našeg nagrađivanog multimedijalnog umjetnika, koju je postavila Hrvatska udruga likovnih umjetnika, otvara se u petak 28. veljače u 20 sati, a može se razgledati do 17. ožujka.
Inače, Niko Mihaljević je dobitnik Nagrade “Radoslav Putar” 2016. (Young Visual Artists Awards) za najboljeg mladog hrvatskog umjetnika. Zvučna kompozicija Nike Mihaljevića “on Water Smoke the” inspirirana je permutacijskom poezijom Briona Gysina i glazbom hard rock sastava Deep Purple, a sastoji se od svih mogućih permutacija 12 tonova glavne gitarske dionice pjesme “Smoke on the Water”.
Budući da postoji 479.001.600 permutacija, od kojih svaka traje oko osam sekundi, trajanje kompozicije iznosi 130 godina i 13 dana. Prva javna izvedba započela je na web-stranici www.onwatersmokethe.com u petak 10. 01. 2020., a završit će se u subotu 24. 01. 2150.
Brion Gysin, slikar, performer, pjesnik i mistik koji je nadahnuo Mihaljevića, 1960. je za radio BBC snimio seriju snimki zvučne poezije poznatu pod imenom “permutacijske pjesme”. Ove se zasnivaju na široj ideji “cut-up metode” do koje je Gysin došao surađujući s Williamom S. Burroughsom.
Uglavnom, pjesme su specifične po tome što se sastoje od jedne fraze koja se ponavlja, tako da se riječi linearno rearanžiraju u svim mogućim kombinacijama. Ove kombinacije, odnosno permutacije, bile su stvorene pomoću kompjuterskog programa koji je napisao Ian Sommerville. Prema matematičkoj definiciji permutacije, to je “svaki mogući linearni razmještaj elemenata neke određene skupine”.

S druge strane, britanski hard rock sastav Deep Purple je 1972. na albumu “Machine Head” objavio pjesmu “Smoke on the Water”, koje je postala instant hit. Središnja tema pjesme, gitarska dionica od 12 tonova koju je skladao i odsvirao gitarist Ritchie Blackmore, vjerojatno je najtipičnijih dvanaest tonova u povijesti pop i rock glazbe.
Svi klinci koji maštaju o statusu gitarskog heroja, započnu svirajući ovu temu.
Zvučnu kompoziciju “on Water Smoke the” koja spaja gitarsku dionicu Ritchieja Blackmorea s Gysinovom permutacijskom metodom Niko Mihaljević je složio na način da je 12-tonsku gitarsku dionicu preuzeo iz izvorne snimke “Smoke on the Water” te je rearanžirao u svim mogućim permutacijama, na sve moguće pogrešne načine.
Broj permutacija koje je dobio na taj način je nasaglediv, ima ih 479.001.600 (četiristo sedamdeset i devet milijuna jedna tisuća i šeststo), a kako trajanje jedne permutacije iznosi oko osam sekundi, ukupno trajanje “Mihaljevićeve skladbe” je 130 godina i 13 dana. Ona traje i u ovom trenutku na web-stranici www.onwatersmokethe.com; započela je u petak 10. 1. 2020., a završit će u subotu 24. 1. 2150. godine.
Na kraju njezina izvođenja Nike Mihaljevića će se sjećati kao konceptualnog umjetnika i dizajnera vizualnih komunikacija rodom iz Splita, koji je radio kao samostalni grafički dizajner u Zagrebu, gdje je i predavao na odjelu Medijskog dizajna Sveučilišta Sjever.
