Znam, književna teorija ne priznaje termin "ćaknut" kao naročito relevantan, ali teško mi je odoljeti iskušenju da ovotjednu knjigu upravo tako okarakteriziram. Radi se o libru koji je do te mjere iščašen da se nakladnik nije nadao rasprodati velikodušnu početnu nakladu od tisuću i pol primjeraka. A ona ne samo da je planula, nego se knjiga 14 godina nakon premijere i dalje dotiskuje, premda je u Švedskoj do sada prodano više od trideset tisuća primjeraka. Uspjeh ovoga djela u međuvremenu je postao i međunarodna činjenica, jer je libar preveden na niz jezika, zabilježivši redom vrlo srdačne komplimente recenzenata. Konačno, knjiga je do danas prerasla u trilogiju čiji su nastavci također sjajno prošli kod publike i kritike.

Pa što je ćaknuto u slučaju "Klopke za muhe" Fredrika Sjöberga? Bolje me pitajte što nije. Za početak, ova se knjiga opire zbijanju u bilo kakav žanrovski pretinac. Nećemo pogriješiti kažemo li kako se radi o ispovjednome, dakle, biografskom tekstu. No, koliko god je priča o autoru, on je i priča o (barem jednoj) osobi koja je živjela u nekom drugom vremenu. Osim što pripovijeda o ljudima koji su dijelili istu strast ili s njima bili u bliskoj vezi, knjiga jest i svojevrsna zbirka esejističkih pasaža, pa čak i polemičkih dionica.

Vjerojatno naslućujete, ključna riječ ovdje je strast. A predmet žudnje u najmanju je ruku nesvakidašnji. Jer, osim što je novinar i pisac, Fredrik Sjöberg jest i veoma entuzijastični entomolog. K tome još i strogo fokusiran na jedno polje istraživanja, koje se laiku može činiti razmjerno ograničenim ili čak siromašnim, a zapravo je bogato i nepregledno. Radi se, naime, o muhama pršilicama koje se, veli autor, pojavljuju u mnogim obličjima.

 KUKCI I MUHE

"Neke nalikuju osama, druge mednim pčelama, parazitskim osicama, štrkovima ili sićušnim komarcima krhkih nožica, toliko minijaturnima da ih normalni ljudi uopće ne primjećuju. Neke vrste podsjećaju na velike dlakave bumbare, uključujući brundavi let i trunke peludi na dlačicama. Samo se stručnjak ne da prevariti – nema nas mnogo, ali zato doživljavamo duboku starost."

Sjöbergu možda jest (i neka je!) zapisana dugovječnost, ali je zato učinio sve da skrati život svojim prevoditeljima ili ih makar temeljito sjöbe. "Na ovoj našoj Zemlji", piše autor, "postoje milijuni i još milijuna vrsta kukaca. Od svih njih, stotine tisuća spadaju u mnogočlani red muha. Diptera. Kućne muhe, vodene muhe plesačice, grabežnice, pršilice, debeloglave muhe, vojničke muhe, paučarice, vitražice, voćne mušice, mesaruše, zujare, stajske muhe, muhe mrtvačkih sanduka, žednice, ušare, slanarice, smrdljive muhe – nema što nema. Samo se u Švedskoj prema posljednjim zapisima pojavljuju 4424 vrste muha. Neprestano se otkrivaju nove." Osim izdašna honorara, Sara Profeta, koja je potpisala hrvatski prijevod ove knjige, zaslužila je – ako ne baš orden za junačko djelo, a onda – barem dva tjedna u toplicama.

Prije nego što je postao ekspert za pršilice (kojih u svijetu ima ukupno više od pet tisuća vrsta, a u Švedskoj točno 368), Sjöberg je bio kazališni rekviziter koji je svake večeri na scenu dovodio i s nje izvodio živo janje. Kako je dotični dramski komad, unatoč avangardnoj redateljskoj poetici, bio relativno uspješan, janje je u međuvremenu naraslo do volumena zrele ovce komplicirajući Fredrikov život, pa se ne treba čuditi što se na koncu posvetio kudikamo manjim bićima.

STOPAMA RENÉA MALAISEA

Premda vam se može činiti da je Sjöberg primjer čovjeka s unikatnom infišacijom, ni on nije repa bez korijena. Samo je krenuo stopama svoga velikog zemljaka Renéa Malaisea, proslavljenog entomologa, izumitelja čuvene zamke za hvatanje insekata, koja nosi njegovo ime, te kolekcionara umjetnina. Sjöberg rekonstruira njegov uzbudljivi životni put (da, vjerujte mi na riječ, čak i svakodnevica čovjeka opsjednutog muhama može biti uzbudljiva) račvajući priču u dva bočna pritoka koja se bave njegovim ljubavima. Paralel slalom između dvije biografije, piščeve i njegova velikog uzora, dovest će nas na koncu do dvije zanimljive debate: prva se tiče razloga i smisla bavljenja (bilo kakvim) kolekcionarstvom, a druga dovodi u pitanje skoro pa religioznu zadrtost prirodnjaka i ekologa, čijoj katastrofičnoj viziji budućnosti Sjöberg suprotstavlja kudikamo optimističniju opciju.

Prema insektima generalno i svim muhama pojedinačno nisam ravnodušan – gade mi se. I premda ovaj roman ni po čemu ne bi smio biti moja šalica čaja, progutao sam ga s guštom, što i vama od srca želim.

Znam, književna teorija ne priznaje termin "ćaknut" kao naročito relevantan, ali teško mi je odoljeti iskušenju da ovotjednu knjigu upravo tako okarakteriziram. Radi se o libru koji je do te mjere iščašen da se nakladnik nije nadao rasprodati velikodušnu početnu nakladu od tisuću i pol primjeraka. A ona ne samo da je planula, nego se knjiga 14 godina nakon premijere i dalje dotiskuje, premda je u Švedskoj do sada prodano više od trideset tisuća primjeraka. Uspjeh ovoga djela u međuvremenu je postao i međunarodna činjenica, jer je libar preveden na niz jezika, zabilježivši redom vrlo srdačne komplimente recenzenata. Konačno, knjiga je do danas prerasla u trilogiju čiji su nastavci također sjajno prošli kod publike i kritike.

Pa što je ćaknuto u slučaju "Klopke za muhe" Fredrika Sjöberga? Bolje me pitajte što nije. Za početak, ova se knjiga opire zbijanju u bilo kakav žanrovski pretinac. Nećemo pogriješiti kažemo li kako se radi o ispovjednome, dakle, biografskom tekstu. No, koliko god je priča o autoru, on je i priča o (barem jednoj) osobi koja je živjela u nekom drugom vremenu. Osim što pripovijeda o ljudima koji su dijelili istu strast ili s njima bili u bliskoj vezi, knjiga jest i svojevrsna zbirka esejističkih pasaža, pa čak i polemičkih dionica.

Vjerojatno naslućujete, ključna riječ ovdje je strast. A predmet žudnje u najmanju je ruku nesvakidašnji. Jer, osim što je novinar i pisac, Fredrik Sjöberg jest i veoma entuzijastični entomolog. K tome još i strogo fokusiran na jedno polje istraživanja, koje se laiku može činiti razmjerno ograničenim ili čak siromašnim, a zapravo je bogato i nepregledno. Radi se, naime, o muhama pršilicama koje se, veli autor, pojavljuju u mnogim obličjima.

 KUKCI I MUHE

"Neke nalikuju osama, druge mednim pčelama, parazitskim osicama, štrkovima ili sićušnim komarcima krhkih nožica, toliko minijaturnima da ih normalni ljudi uopće ne primjećuju. Neke vrste podsjećaju na velike dlakave bumbare, uključujući brundavi let i trunke peludi na dlačicama. Samo se stručnjak ne da prevariti – nema nas mnogo, ali zato doživljavamo duboku starost."

Sjöbergu možda jest (i neka je!) zapisana dugovječnost, ali je zato učinio sve da skrati život svojim prevoditeljima ili ih makar temeljito sjöbe. "Na ovoj našoj Zemlji", piše autor, "postoje milijuni i još milijuna vrsta kukaca. Od svih njih, stotine tisuća spadaju u mnogočlani red muha. Diptera. Kućne muhe, vodene muhe plesačice, grabežnice, pršilice, debeloglave muhe, vojničke muhe, paučarice, vitražice, voćne mušice, mesaruše, zujare, stajske muhe, muhe mrtvačkih sanduka, žednice, ušare, slanarice, smrdljive muhe – nema što nema. Samo se u Švedskoj prema posljednjim zapisima pojavljuju 4424 vrste muha. Neprestano se otkrivaju nove." Osim izdašna honorara, Sara Profeta, koja je potpisala hrvatski prijevod ove knjige, zaslužila je – ako ne baš orden za junačko djelo, a onda – barem dva tjedna u toplicama.

Prije nego što je postao ekspert za pršilice (kojih u svijetu ima ukupno više od pet tisuća vrsta, a u Švedskoj točno 368), Sjöberg je bio kazališni rekviziter koji je svake večeri na scenu dovodio i s nje izvodio živo janje. Kako je dotični dramski komad, unatoč avangardnoj redateljskoj poetici, bio relativno uspješan, janje je u međuvremenu naraslo do volumena zrele ovce komplicirajući Fredrikov život, pa se ne treba čuditi što se na koncu posvetio kudikamo manjim bićima.

STOPAMA RENÉA MALAISEA

Premda vam se može činiti da je Sjöberg primjer čovjeka s unikatnom infišacijom, ni on nije repa bez korijena. Samo je krenuo stopama svoga velikog zemljaka Renéa Malaisea, proslavljenog entomologa, izumitelja čuvene zamke za hvatanje insekata, koja nosi njegovo ime, te kolekcionara umjetnina. Sjöberg rekonstruira njegov uzbudljivi životni put (da, vjerujte mi na riječ, čak i svakodnevica čovjeka opsjednutog muhama može biti uzbudljiva) račvajući priču u dva bočna pritoka koja se bave njegovim ljubavima. Paralel slalom između dvije biografije, piščeve i njegova velikog uzora, dovest će nas na koncu do dvije zanimljive debate: prva se tiče razloga i smisla bavljenja (bilo kakvim) kolekcionarstvom, a druga dovodi u pitanje skoro pa religioznu zadrtost prirodnjaka i ekologa, čijoj katastrofičnoj viziji budućnosti Sjöberg suprotstavlja kudikamo optimističniju opciju.

Prema insektima generalno i svim muhama pojedinačno nisam ravnodušan – gade mi se. I premda ovaj roman ni po čemu ne bi smio biti moja šalica čaja, progutao sam ga s guštom, što i vama od srca želim.

Avanture lovca na muhe pršilice

Znam, književna teorija ne priznaje termin "ćaknut" kao naročito relevantan, ali teško mi je odoljeti iskušenju da ovotjednu knjigu upravo tako okarakteriziram. Radi se o libru koji je do te mjere iščašen da se nakladnik nije nadao rasprodati velikodušnu početnu nakladu od tisuću i pol primjeraka. A ona ne samo da je planula, nego se knjiga 14 godina nakon premijere i dalje dotiskuje, premda je u Švedskoj do sada prodano više od trideset tisuća primjeraka. Uspjeh ovoga djela u međuvremenu je postao i međunarodna činjenica, jer je libar preveden na niz jezika, zabilježivši redom vrlo srdačne komplimente recenzenata. Konačno, knjiga je do danas prerasla u trilogiju čiji su nastavci također sjajno prošli kod publike i kritike.

Pa što je ćaknuto u slučaju "Klopke...
