Bivša supruga Seana Penna krenula je ove godine njegovim tragom i okušala se kao redateljica dugometražnog filma. Glumica Robin Wright dosad je režirala samo jedan "kratkiš" ("The Dark Of Night") i nekoliko epizoda svojedobno popularne serije "House Of Cards" u kojoj je igrala glavu žensku ulogu

No, sa "Zemljom", premijerno prikazanom zimus na Sundance Film Festivalu, Wright je ušla u klub glumaca-redatelja. Ako je suditi po njezinu redateljskom prvijencu, Wright nije pogriješila profesiju, ali je bolja kao glumica i ima još toga za naučiti i steći iskustva iza kamere. Opet, nije čudno da se Wright odlučila zakoračiti s druge strane objektiva.

Sve je više filmašica u filmskom svijetu, a zadnjih godina glumice frekventno postaju redateljice, npr. Angeline Jolie ("U zemlji krvi i meda", "Nesalomljivi", "Uz more"), Julie Delpy ("2 dana u Parizu", "2 dana u New Yorku"), Melanie Laurent ("Galveston"), Greta Gerwig ("Lady Bird", "Male žene"), Olivia Wilde ("Booksmart")...

Na koncu konca, Wright je u glumačkoj karijeri, nakon televizijskog debija sa "Santa Barbarom", glumila u filmovima umješnih redatelja poput Roba Reinera ("Princeza nevjesta"), Phila Joanoua ("Stanje milosti"), Roberta Zemeckisa ("Forrest Gump"), M. Night Shyamalana ("Neslomljivi"), Davida Finchera ("Muškarci koji mrze žene"), Arija Folmana ("Kongres"), Antona Corbijna ("Najtraženiji čovjek"), Denisa Villeneuvea ("Blade Runner 2049")...

Režirao ju je i Penn dok su bili zajedno ("Čuvar prijelaza"). Od svakoga od njih Wright je mogla nešto naučiti. Pa ipak, ako se njezina režija komparira s Pennovom, Wright ne izlazi kao pobjednica. Gledajući "Land", premijerni naslov na hrvatskom "online" videotržištu, potpisnik ovih redaka više se puta sjetio superiornijeg Pennova filma "Into The Wild" i pomislio kako bi bilo da je on režirao bivšu suprugu umjesto nje same.

U usporedbi s "U divljini", "Zemlja" je dosta slabiji film ili manje snažan, upečatljiv film. Također, u prilog joj ne ide ni usporedba s nedavnom, Oscarom višestruko pozlaćenom "Zemljom nomada" redateljice Chloe Zhao. Ne treba isključiti mogućnost da "Land" bolje legne na neko novo gledanje, s odmakom vremena, udaljen od "Nomadland", ali Wright na osnovu ovog filma nije kalibar Zhao, a nije ni Frances McDormand, no puno je dojmljivija s ove strane kamere u razmjerno sličnoj ulozi.

Edee je sredovječna žena koja se, nakon neprežaljene osobne tragedije, odlučuje na samoizolaciju u divljini i planinama Wyominga. Njoj je teško biti okružena ljudima i radije će ostati sama sa svojom boli. Na putu do kolibe u Wyomingu, izolirane da preslikava nju samu, bacit će mobitel i biti spremna živjeti od zemlje.

Problem je, pak, da ne zna postavljati zamke ni preživljavati, a nema ni dovoljno zaliha hrane, što će je zamalo koštati života da je od smrzavanja nije spasio usamljenik s vlastitim ožiljcima prošlosti Miguel (uvijek dobri Demian Bechir) i naučio je loviti. 

"Zemlja" je režijski zanimljivija i uspješnija u prvoj polovici, dok se Wright libi dijaloga i otkriva malo o Edee, fokusirajući se na lirske kadrove žene i majke prirode te, uz pomoć direktora fotografije Bobbyja Bukowskog ("99 domova"), snimajući krasne sutone sa suncem na njezinom licu. Jednom kad posegne za flešbekovima, film je manje interesantan i predvidljiv u oslikavanju hrvanja s traumom iz priručnika američke nezavisnjačke provenijencije, u završnici čak i djelomično dramski manipulativan.

Kao glumica Wright pronalazi nijanse u liku Edee i čini ga autentičnim, ali kao redateljica je odveć "štreberski" nastrojena, dijelom i distancirana, da bi se "Zemlja" osjećala njezinim osobnim projektom i pričom koju je jednostavno morala ispričati, suptilno i spontano dirala u dušu poput "Zemlje nomada".

Rijetke su suptilnosti i spontanosti kod Wright, tipa da Miguel pjevuši "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". Stihovi klasika Tears For Fears (... "It's my own design/It's my own remorse...") dodiruju se majke prirode i podudaraju s pričom protagonistice koja je "ovdje zato što je tako odabrala".

Scenarij su napisali debitanski scenarist Jesse Chatham i iskusnija Erin Dignam (Wendersov "Do dna", Pennov "The Last Face"), a važniju ulogu, sestre Emme, igra Kim Dickens ("Nestala").

Bivša supruga Seana Penna krenula je ove godine njegovim tragom i okušala se kao redateljica dugometražnog filma. Glumica Robin Wright dosad je režirala samo jedan "kratkiš" ("The Dark Of Night") i nekoliko epizoda svojedobno popularne serije "House Of Cards" u kojoj je igrala glavu žensku ulogu

No, sa "Zemljom", premijerno prikazanom zimus na Sundance Film Festivalu, Wright je ušla u klub glumaca-redatelja. Ako je suditi po njezinu redateljskom prvijencu, Wright nije pogriješila profesiju, ali je bolja kao glumica i ima još toga za naučiti i steći iskustva iza kamere. Opet, nije čudno da se Wright odlučila zakoračiti s druge strane objektiva.

Sve je više filmašica u filmskom svijetu, a zadnjih godina glumice frekventno postaju redateljice, npr. Angeline Jolie ("U zemlji krvi i meda", "Nesalomljivi", "Uz more"), Julie Delpy ("2 dana u Parizu", "2 dana u New Yorku"), Melanie Laurent ("Galveston"), Greta Gerwig ("Lady Bird", "Male žene"), Olivia Wilde ("Booksmart")...

Na koncu konca, Wright je u glumačkoj karijeri, nakon televizijskog debija sa "Santa Barbarom", glumila u filmovima umješnih redatelja poput Roba Reinera ("Princeza nevjesta"), Phila Joanoua ("Stanje milosti"), Roberta Zemeckisa ("Forrest Gump"), M. Night Shyamalana ("Neslomljivi"), Davida Finchera ("Muškarci koji mrze žene"), Arija Folmana ("Kongres"), Antona Corbijna ("Najtraženiji čovjek"), Denisa Villeneuvea ("Blade Runner 2049")...

Režirao ju je i Penn dok su bili zajedno ("Čuvar prijelaza"). Od svakoga od njih Wright je mogla nešto naučiti. Pa ipak, ako se njezina režija komparira s Pennovom, Wright ne izlazi kao pobjednica. Gledajući "Land", premijerni naslov na hrvatskom "online" videotržištu, potpisnik ovih redaka više se puta sjetio superiornijeg Pennova filma "Into The Wild" i pomislio kako bi bilo da je on režirao bivšu suprugu umjesto nje same.

U usporedbi s "U divljini", "Zemlja" je dosta slabiji film ili manje snažan, upečatljiv film. Također, u prilog joj ne ide ni usporedba s nedavnom, Oscarom višestruko pozlaćenom "Zemljom nomada" redateljice Chloe Zhao. Ne treba isključiti mogućnost da "Land" bolje legne na neko novo gledanje, s odmakom vremena, udaljen od "Nomadland", ali Wright na osnovu ovog filma nije kalibar Zhao, a nije ni Frances McDormand, no puno je dojmljivija s ove strane kamere u razmjerno sličnoj ulozi.

Edee je sredovječna žena koja se, nakon neprežaljene osobne tragedije, odlučuje na samoizolaciju u divljini i planinama Wyominga. Njoj je teško biti okružena ljudima i radije će ostati sama sa svojom boli. Na putu do kolibe u Wyomingu, izolirane da preslikava nju samu, bacit će mobitel i biti spremna živjeti od zemlje.

Problem je, pak, da ne zna postavljati zamke ni preživljavati, a nema ni dovoljno zaliha hrane, što će je zamalo koštati života da je od smrzavanja nije spasio usamljenik s vlastitim ožiljcima prošlosti Miguel (uvijek dobri Demian Bechir) i naučio je loviti. 

"Zemlja" je režijski zanimljivija i uspješnija u prvoj polovici, dok se Wright libi dijaloga i otkriva malo o Edee, fokusirajući se na lirske kadrove žene i majke prirode te, uz pomoć direktora fotografije Bobbyja Bukowskog ("99 domova"), snimajući krasne sutone sa suncem na njezinom licu. Jednom kad posegne za flešbekovima, film je manje interesantan i predvidljiv u oslikavanju hrvanja s traumom iz priručnika američke nezavisnjačke provenijencije, u završnici čak i djelomično dramski manipulativan.

Kao glumica Wright pronalazi nijanse u liku Edee i čini ga autentičnim, ali kao redateljica je odveć "štreberski" nastrojena, dijelom i distancirana, da bi se "Zemlja" osjećala njezinim osobnim projektom i pričom koju je jednostavno morala ispričati, suptilno i spontano dirala u dušu poput "Zemlje nomada".

Rijetke su suptilnosti i spontanosti kod Wright, tipa da Miguel pjevuši "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". Stihovi klasika Tears For Fears (... "It's my own design/It's my own remorse...") dodiruju se majke prirode i podudaraju s pričom protagonistice koja je "ovdje zato što je tako odabrala".

Scenarij su napisali debitanski scenarist Jesse Chatham i iskusnija Erin Dignam (Wendersov "Do dna", Pennov "The Last Face"), a važniju ulogu, sestre Emme, igra Kim Dickens ("Nestala").
