Vilenjak Buddy iz filma "Elf" široj je publici najdraži lik Willa Ferrella. I "Vilenjak" je jedan od omiljenih novomilenijskih božićnih filmova, moderni blagdanski klasik koji se posljednjih desetak godina vrti na televizijama diljem svijeta koncem svakog prosinca.

U jednoj sceni novog Ferrellova blagdanskog filma "Spirited", inspiriranog "Božićnom pričom" Charlesa Dickensa, neki tip odjeven je kao vilenjak Buddy i zamalo se fizički sukobljava s njegovim likom, Duhom sadašnjosti, kad mu potonji kaže da "izgleda glupo".

Zgodan metafilmski štos s obzirom na to da fantazijska komedija "Spirited" ne skriva da svim silama želi biti novi "Elf" i postati drugi Ferrellov božićni klasik.

Takav pristup često potencira generičnosti i lišava film spontanosti, ali posrijedi je u konačnici iznenađujuće dopadljiv, pa i zarazan "X-Mas movie" koji mjestimično uspijeva pogoditi blagdansku emociju, ima mrvu duše i možda bi mogao ispuniti vlastitu želju u nadolazećim godinama.

Apple TV+ je početkom godine prestigao konkurenciju osvajanjem prvog Oscara za neki streaming studio u kategoriji najboljeg filma ("Coda"). Sada je producirao i nešto najbliže klasičnom, staromodnom božićnom filmu, koji od svih sličnih uradaka posljednjih sezona ("Last Christmas", "Sam u kući 5", "Ništa od Božića ove godine", "Ljubav u božićno doba"...) ima najveći potencijal budućeg mini klasika, dakle ne računajući, na primjer, hororskog "Krampusa" i "Better Watch Out", te animiranog "Klausa", možda i "Violent Night".

"Spirited" baštini klasičnost iz Dickensova predloška, ali radi proširenu varijaciju na njegovu božićnu priču. Ona je ionako već ispričana na razne načine, uključujući, na primjer, modernije obrade ("Božićni duhovi" s Billom Murrayjem), animirane eksperimente ("Božićna priča" Roberta Zemeckisa) i romantične komedije ("Sve moje bivše" s Matthewom McConaugheyjem i Jennifer Garner).

Duhovi sadašnjosti, prošlosti i budućnosti dio su industrije kojom upravljaju pokojnici i svake godine oko Božića proganjaju moderne Ebenezere Scroogeove kako bi se on ili ona promijenili i postali promijenjeni, nove, druge, bolje osobe. U tome se može pronaći (auto)ironija na račun opetovanog ekraniziranja Dickensova romana u filmskoj industriji pa netko spomene "film s Billom Murrayjem i sve ostale adaptacije koje nitko nije tražio".

Uglavnom, duhove upoznajemo u trenutku kad proganjaju Karen (Rose Byrne) i izvode je na pravi put, nakon čega se Duh sadašnjosti fokusira na iskupljenje Clinta Briggsa (Ryan Reynolds), PR agenta specijaliziranog za "online" izazivanje medijskih skandala.

"On je, kao, savršena kombinacija Musolinija i (Ryana) Seacresta", smatra Duh sadašnjosti, "kozmički socijalni radnik" koji razmatra napustiti posao i ponovno postati čovjek, što je zaslužio nakon 200 godina rada, posebice kad se zaljubi u Clintovu asistenticu Kimberly (Octavia Spencer).

Širenje Dickensove mitologije "Spirited" upotpunjuje time što zamišlja "Božićnu priču" i zagrobni život kao mjuzikl, nadovezujući se na trend koji je ponovno pokrenuo "La La Land" ("Najveći showman", "Cats", "Maturalni ples", "Annette", "Priča sa zapadne strane", "tick, tick... BOOM", "Cyrano").

"Proganjamo i mijenjamo ljude, a onda pjevamo o tome", najavljuje Duh sadašnjosti pjesmu i ples, dodavši i "širimo dobru volju poput pandemije", ups. Pjesme variraju, kao i sam film, ali na prvo slušanje djeluju pamtljivije u odnosu na recentne pjevačke fantazije "Cinderella" i "Disenchanted". Nedvojbeno ih je moglo biti manje pa "Spirited" ne bi padao u ritmu tijekom nepotrebnog dvosatnog trajanja.

Srećom, režiser-koscenarist Sean Anders ("Ljubavni zov", "Tatin sin", "Kako se riješiti šefa 2", "Tatica se vratio", "Instant obitelj", "Tatica se vratio za Božić") i njegov raspoloženi zvjezdani duo umiju zadržati pozitivnu energiju i prenijeti je na gledatelja, čak ga i dirnuti kad najmanje očekuje. Gledatelj na kraju filma možda neće odgovoriti potvrdno kad ga Duh sadašnjosti pita želi li još jednu pjesmu, ali nije isključeno da poželi još jednom pogledati "Spirited". Nekog idućeg Božića.

Anders je poznat i kao scenarist komedija "Jednostavno savršena", "Jacuzzi express", "Obitelj Miller" i "Glup i gluplji 2". Clintovu nećakinju Wren glumi Marlow Barkley iz aktualne "Zemlje sna".

Vilenjak Buddy iz filma "Elf" široj je publici najdraži lik Willa Ferrella. I "Vilenjak" je jedan od omiljenih novomilenijskih božićnih filmova, moderni blagdanski klasik koji se posljednjih desetak godina vrti na televizijama diljem svijeta koncem svakog prosinca.

U jednoj sceni novog Ferrellova blagdanskog filma "Spirited", inspiriranog "Božićnom pričom" Charlesa Dickensa, neki tip odjeven je kao vilenjak Buddy i zamalo se fizički sukobljava s njegovim likom, Duhom sadašnjosti, kad mu potonji kaže da "izgleda glupo".

Zgodan metafilmski štos s obzirom na to da fantazijska komedija "Spirited" ne skriva da svim silama želi biti novi "Elf" i postati drugi Ferrellov božićni klasik.

Takav pristup često potencira generičnosti i lišava film spontanosti, ali posrijedi je u konačnici iznenađujuće dopadljiv, pa i zarazan "X-Mas movie" koji mjestimično uspijeva pogoditi blagdansku emociju, ima mrvu duše i možda bi mogao ispuniti vlastitu želju u nadolazećim godinama.

Apple TV+ je početkom godine prestigao konkurenciju osvajanjem prvog Oscara za neki streaming studio u kategoriji najboljeg filma ("Coda"). Sada je producirao i nešto najbliže klasičnom, staromodnom božićnom filmu, koji od svih sličnih uradaka posljednjih sezona ("Last Christmas", "Sam u kući 5", "Ništa od Božića ove godine", "Ljubav u božićno doba"...) ima najveći potencijal budućeg mini klasika, dakle ne računajući, na primjer, hororskog "Krampusa" i "Better Watch Out", te animiranog "Klausa", možda i "Violent Night".

"Spirited" baštini klasičnost iz Dickensova predloška, ali radi proširenu varijaciju na njegovu božićnu priču. Ona je ionako već ispričana na razne načine, uključujući, na primjer, modernije obrade ("Božićni duhovi" s Billom Murrayjem), animirane eksperimente ("Božićna priča" Roberta Zemeckisa) i romantične komedije ("Sve moje bivše" s Matthewom McConaugheyjem i Jennifer Garner).

Duhovi sadašnjosti, prošlosti i budućnosti dio su industrije kojom upravljaju pokojnici i svake godine oko Božića proganjaju moderne Ebenezere Scroogeove kako bi se on ili ona promijenili i postali promijenjeni, nove, druge, bolje osobe. U tome se može pronaći (auto)ironija na račun opetovanog ekraniziranja Dickensova romana u filmskoj industriji pa netko spomene "film s Billom Murrayjem i sve ostale adaptacije koje nitko nije tražio".

Uglavnom, duhove upoznajemo u trenutku kad proganjaju Karen (Rose Byrne) i izvode je na pravi put, nakon čega se Duh sadašnjosti fokusira na iskupljenje Clinta Briggsa (Ryan Reynolds), PR agenta specijaliziranog za "online" izazivanje medijskih skandala.

"On je, kao, savršena kombinacija Musolinija i (Ryana) Seacresta", smatra Duh sadašnjosti, "kozmički socijalni radnik" koji razmatra napustiti posao i ponovno postati čovjek, što je zaslužio nakon 200 godina rada, posebice kad se zaljubi u Clintovu asistenticu Kimberly (Octavia Spencer).

Širenje Dickensove mitologije "Spirited" upotpunjuje time što zamišlja "Božićnu priču" i zagrobni život kao mjuzikl, nadovezujući se na trend koji je ponovno pokrenuo "La La Land" ("Najveći showman", "Cats", "Maturalni ples", "Annette", "Priča sa zapadne strane", "tick, tick... BOOM", "Cyrano").

"Proganjamo i mijenjamo ljude, a onda pjevamo o tome", najavljuje Duh sadašnjosti pjesmu i ples, dodavši i "širimo dobru volju poput pandemije", ups. Pjesme variraju, kao i sam film, ali na prvo slušanje djeluju pamtljivije u odnosu na recentne pjevačke fantazije "Cinderella" i "Disenchanted". Nedvojbeno ih je moglo biti manje pa "Spirited" ne bi padao u ritmu tijekom nepotrebnog dvosatnog trajanja.

Srećom, režiser-koscenarist Sean Anders ("Ljubavni zov", "Tatin sin", "Kako se riješiti šefa 2", "Tatica se vratio", "Instant obitelj", "Tatica se vratio za Božić") i njegov raspoloženi zvjezdani duo umiju zadržati pozitivnu energiju i prenijeti je na gledatelja, čak ga i dirnuti kad najmanje očekuje. Gledatelj na kraju filma možda neće odgovoriti potvrdno kad ga Duh sadašnjosti pita želi li još jednu pjesmu, ali nije isključeno da poželi još jednom pogledati "Spirited". Nekog idućeg Božića.

Anders je poznat i kao scenarist komedija "Jednostavno savršena", "Jacuzzi express", "Obitelj Miller" i "Glup i gluplji 2". Clintovu nećakinju Wren glumi Marlow Barkley iz aktualne "Zemlje sna".
