Društvo je u populističkoj apokaliptičnoj satiri "Don't Look Up" postalo bogatije za još jednu podjelu – na one koji gledaju "gore" i "dolje". Podjela je izrodila nove podpodjele – na ljude kojima je "Ne gledaj gore" dobar i loš film. Svi ga ovih dana trendovski gledaju, privučeni potentnom temom i zvjezdano-oskarovskom glumačkom ekipom (Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Timothee Chalamet, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Ariana Grande...).

Statusi na Fejsu puni su Netflixova filma. Javno ga je preporučio i hrvatski premijer Andrej Plenković, a ne sjećamo da je napravio nešto slično kad je neki drugi film u pitanju. Oni kojima je "Don't Look" dobar, pozivaju se na virtualnu revoluciju. Oni kojima je loš pozivaju se na teorije zavjere.

"Ne gledaj gore" je "negdje između". Nije dobar-dobar, ali ni tako loš, no svakako zanimljiv kao refleksija i produkt današnjeg svijeta, od nepovjerenja prema vlastima, političke i "celebrity" (ne)kulture, preko hiper(dez)informiranja i izražavanja "memeovima", do Chalameta kao sveprisutnog glumca ("Dina", "Francuska depeša").

Adam McKay se od režisera komedija s Willom Ferrellom, tipa "Voditelj uzvraća udarac", "Luda braća" ili "Murjaci s klupe", posljednjih godina profilirao kao društveno-politički satiričar s filmovima "Oklada stoljeća" i "Čovjek iz sjene".

"Don't Look Up", međutim, nije na razini njegova prethodna dva ostvarenja o korijenima financijske krize 2008., tj. "rata protiv terora" u režiji Dicka Cheneyja, kamoli Kubrickova "Dr. Strangelovea" koji žarko želi biti za "sada i ovdje", a ne uspijeva dosegnuti ni domet satira Armanda Ianuccija ("U banani", "Smrt Staljina").

Domet se rimuje s komet i upravo komet prijeti našem planetu u McKayjevu filmu koji se gubi i pronalazi na razmeđi njegovih satira i komedija s Ferrellom, samo što je sad "ferrelovsku" ulogu dao DiCapriju, uz Lawrence jednu od rijetkih koliko-toliko iskorištenih glumaca unutar impresivne postave, naizgled složene isključivo po zvučnosti, iako njegova izvedba nije ni blizu zabavna kao u "Vuku s Wall Streeta" ili "Bilo jednom u... Hollywoodu".

Dakle, imamo scenarij kao iz akcijsko-katastrofičnog blockbustera "Armagedona": komet nije "veličine Teksasa", ali je svejedno pet do deset kilometara širok, dovoljno da ga se proglasi "ubojicom planeta", kao i u "Greenlandu" koji je nedavno opipao puls modernog čovječanstva. Izravan sudar sa Zemljom slijedi za šest mjeseci i 14 dana ako se ne poduzmu drastične akcije.

Gdje je akcijski junak Bruce Willis kad ga trebate? Eno ga u tijelu Rona Perlmana, ali ovo nije taj tip filma u kojem Amerika(nac) spašava svijet. Naprotiv, "trumpovska" predsjednica SAD-a (Streep) zabrinutija je za skorašnje izbore nego armagedon kad napokon primi astronome s lošim vijestima (DiCaprio, Lawrence), kojima je njezin general (Paul Guilfoyle), dok su čekali na audijenciju, naplatio besplatne grickalice.

Javnost diše slično kao predsjednica. Ljudima je važnija vijest o prekidu "celebrity" zvjezdice od smaka svijeta, o kojem je film snimio i Lars von Trier ("Melankolija"), a opjevan je i u pjesmi TBF-a. Nakon što astronomi napokon dođu do riječi pred voditeljima TV emisije (Blanchett, Perry) koji vole crne vijesti upakirati u šaren produkcijski celofan, baš poput McKaya, ravna crta, reakcija gledatelja o "apokaliptičnom događaju", poskoči tek kad jedno od njih opsuje i, jasno, postane materijal za "meme".

"Svi bi trebali biti u panici", čude se astronomi manjku pozornosti koji je izazvala vijest, ali ljude sa sve kraćim rasponom pažnje nije briga za ono što će se dogoditi u tamo nekoj budućnosti, već ono što se sada događa, a po mogućnosti nema veze s teškim temama poput korone, već lakim, klikabilnim štivom, poput skandala pop-zvijezde (Grande) kojima se medijski opijaju mase, nerijetko u svrhu distrakcije.

Kad, pak, vijest postane viralna, jedan dio javnosti vjeruje znanstvenicima, a drugi sumnja u njihove riječi, ignorira njihova upozorenja i misli da komet ne postoji pa eto novih "vakseri-antivakseri" podjela u već ionako dovoljno podijeljenom društvu (gledaj gore/dolje).

Situacija je zrcalo kaotične i apsurdističke današnjice, gdje viši politički cilj opravdava moralno koruptivno sredstvo, samo zamijenite komet za klimatske promjene i koronsku pandemiju. Lako je zamisliti da bi se stvari jednako odvijale u stvarnosti u slučaju ovakvog kraja svijeta.

To je najveća vrlina neujednačenog, ali na mahove pametnog i inspirativnog filma koji prečesto zalazi na teritorij karikature (Rylanceov "muskovski" lik tehnološkog mogula) i nedostaje mu satiričke suptilnosti dok podsjeća na ono što netko tko "gleda gore" već zna. Nema nam pomoći, tu, du, du...

Film je u prvom tjednu zasjeo na vrh najgledanijih filmova na Netflixu i, kako je krenuo, vjerojatno će završiti među najgledanijim ikad kad je taj streaming servis u pitanju.

Društvo je u populističkoj apokaliptičnoj satiri "Don't Look Up" postalo bogatije za još jednu podjelu – na one koji gledaju "gore" i "dolje". Podjela je izrodila nove podpodjele – na ljude kojima je "Ne gledaj gore" dobar i loš film. Svi ga ovih dana trendovski gledaju, privučeni potentnom temom i zvjezdano-oskarovskom glumačkom ekipom (Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Timothee Chalamet, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Ariana Grande...).

Statusi na Fejsu puni su Netflixova filma. Javno ga je preporučio i hrvatski premijer Andrej Plenković, a ne sjećamo da je napravio nešto slično kad je neki drugi film u pitanju. Oni kojima je "Don't Look" dobar, pozivaju se na virtualnu revoluciju. Oni kojima je loš pozivaju se na teorije zavjere.

"Ne gledaj gore" je "negdje između". Nije dobar-dobar, ali ni tako loš, no svakako zanimljiv kao refleksija i produkt današnjeg svijeta, od nepovjerenja prema vlastima, političke i "celebrity" (ne)kulture, preko hiper(dez)informiranja i izražavanja "memeovima", do Chalameta kao sveprisutnog glumca ("Dina", "Francuska depeša").

Adam McKay se od režisera komedija s Willom Ferrellom, tipa "Voditelj uzvraća udarac", "Luda braća" ili "Murjaci s klupe", posljednjih godina profilirao kao društveno-politički satiričar s filmovima "Oklada stoljeća" i "Čovjek iz sjene".

"Don't Look Up", međutim, nije na razini njegova prethodna dva ostvarenja o korijenima financijske krize 2008., tj. "rata protiv terora" u režiji Dicka Cheneyja, kamoli Kubrickova "Dr. Strangelovea" koji žarko želi biti za "sada i ovdje", a ne uspijeva dosegnuti ni domet satira Armanda Ianuccija ("U banani", "Smrt Staljina").

Domet se rimuje s komet i upravo komet prijeti našem planetu u McKayjevu filmu koji se gubi i pronalazi na razmeđi njegovih satira i komedija s Ferrellom, samo što je sad "ferrelovsku" ulogu dao DiCapriju, uz Lawrence jednu od rijetkih koliko-toliko iskorištenih glumaca unutar impresivne postave, naizgled složene isključivo po zvučnosti, iako njegova izvedba nije ni blizu zabavna kao u "Vuku s Wall Streeta" ili "Bilo jednom u... Hollywoodu".

Dakle, imamo scenarij kao iz akcijsko-katastrofičnog blockbustera "Armagedona": komet nije "veličine Teksasa", ali je svejedno pet do deset kilometara širok, dovoljno da ga se proglasi "ubojicom planeta", kao i u "Greenlandu" koji je nedavno opipao puls modernog čovječanstva. Izravan sudar sa Zemljom slijedi za šest mjeseci i 14 dana ako se ne poduzmu drastične akcije.

Gdje je akcijski junak Bruce Willis kad ga trebate? Eno ga u tijelu Rona Perlmana, ali ovo nije taj tip filma u kojem Amerika(nac) spašava svijet. Naprotiv, "trumpovska" predsjednica SAD-a (Streep) zabrinutija je za skorašnje izbore nego armagedon kad napokon primi astronome s lošim vijestima (DiCaprio, Lawrence), kojima je njezin general (Paul Guilfoyle), dok su čekali na audijenciju, naplatio besplatne grickalice.

Javnost diše slično kao predsjednica. Ljudima je važnija vijest o prekidu "celebrity" zvjezdice od smaka svijeta, o kojem je film snimio i Lars von Trier ("Melankolija"), a opjevan je i u pjesmi TBF-a. Nakon što astronomi napokon dođu do riječi pred voditeljima TV emisije (Blanchett, Perry) koji vole crne vijesti upakirati u šaren produkcijski celofan, baš poput McKaya, ravna crta, reakcija gledatelja o "apokaliptičnom događaju", poskoči tek kad jedno od njih opsuje i, jasno, postane materijal za "meme".

"Svi bi trebali biti u panici", čude se astronomi manjku pozornosti koji je izazvala vijest, ali ljude sa sve kraćim rasponom pažnje nije briga za ono što će se dogoditi u tamo nekoj budućnosti, već ono što se sada događa, a po mogućnosti nema veze s teškim temama poput korone, već lakim, klikabilnim štivom, poput skandala pop-zvijezde (Grande) kojima se medijski opijaju mase, nerijetko u svrhu distrakcije.

Kad, pak, vijest postane viralna, jedan dio javnosti vjeruje znanstvenicima, a drugi sumnja u njihove riječi, ignorira njihova upozorenja i misli da komet ne postoji pa eto novih "vakseri-antivakseri" podjela u već ionako dovoljno podijeljenom društvu (gledaj gore/dolje).

Situacija je zrcalo kaotične i apsurdističke današnjice, gdje viši politički cilj opravdava moralno koruptivno sredstvo, samo zamijenite komet za klimatske promjene i koronsku pandemiju. Lako je zamisliti da bi se stvari jednako odvijale u stvarnosti u slučaju ovakvog kraja svijeta.

To je najveća vrlina neujednačenog, ali na mahove pametnog i inspirativnog filma koji prečesto zalazi na teritorij karikature (Rylanceov "muskovski" lik tehnološkog mogula) i nedostaje mu satiričke suptilnosti dok podsjeća na ono što netko tko "gleda gore" već zna. Nema nam pomoći, tu, du, du...

Film je u prvom tjednu zasjeo na vrh najgledanijih filmova na Netflixu i, kako je krenuo, vjerojatno će završiti među najgledanijim ikad kad je taj streaming servis u pitanju.
