Spoznaja da je spisateljica Delia Owens proteklog mjeseca tražena zbog ispitivanja u vezi s neriješenim slučajem umorstva pretvara zagonetni hit-triler “Djevojka iz močvare” (“Where The Crawdads Sing”) u nesvakidašnje kinoiskustvo. Film “Djevojka iz močvare” redateljice Olivije Newman, nastao u produkciji oskarovke Reese Witherspoon, koja je producirala i ekranizaciju “Nestale”, snimljen je prema Owensičinu bestseleru iz 2018., prodanom u više od 12 milijuna primjeraka.

Prije nego što je postala autorica bestselera, Owens je studirala zoologiju i proučavala divlje životinje u Africi. Ondje se spomenuto ubojstvo i dogodilo davne 1995., u zambijskom Nacionalnom parku, gdje je smrtno stradao navodni krivolovac.

U to doba, sredinom devedesetih, Owens je, zajedno sa suprugom Markom i njegovim sinom Christopherom, bila na glasu kao antikrivolovac, poput lika Sharlta Copleyja u filmu “Zvijer”. Nedugo poslije TV reportaže ABC Newsa o stradavanju krivolovca, Owensovi su, zanimljivo, otišli iz Afrike u Ameriku i nisu se nikad vratili natrag.

Zambijske vlasti smatraju da spisateljica nije bila direktno umiješana u umorstvo (što sama tvrdi), niti je optužena za zločin, ali bi mogla biti važna svjedokinja i zato je traže za ispitivanje. Život piše romane i romani pišu život. Romani pišu i ovaj film, pretpremijerno pogledan u “Cineplexxu” prije dolaska u hrvatska kina 18. kolovoza, nakon što je u svjetskima dosad zaradio 80 milijuna dolara.

Protagonistica romana i filma “Djevojka iz močvare”, Kya Clark (solidna Daisy Edgar-Jones; “Normal People”), okupirana je divljim životom kao Owens, doduše u močvari Sjeverne Karoline, ne Afrike, ovjekovječujući svijet oko sebe u formi ilustracija, slikajući životinje, insekte itd. Napokon, Kyu lokalna policija traži zbog ispitivanja u vezi sa smrću Chasea Andrewsa (Harris Dickinson; “King’s Man: Početak”) i ona postaje glavna osumnjičena.

”Unutar rita, ponegdje, prava je močvara. Močvara zna sve o smrti. Ne definira je kao tragediju, a sigurno ne kao grijeh”, zagonetno pripovijeda naratorica Kya na početku filma, prije nego što neki klinci nalete na (Chaseov) leš u blatu podno požarnog tornja. Je li Chase sam otvorio rešetku na požarnom tornju, tj. je li posrijedi samoubojstvo, ili ga je možda netko gurnuo odozgo, ključne su dvojbe koje ubrzo dobivaju odgovor ako pitate lokalce.

”Kriva si, znamo da si ubila Chasea”, svjetina optužuje Kyu, zvanu Djevojka iz močvare, koja je već godinama izopćena, izbjegavana i osuđena od strane zajednice. Na Kyinu stranu staje samo umirovljeni odvjetnik Tom Milton (vječno pouzdani David Strathairn), spreman da postane njezin branitelj, ali i da dozna nešto više o njoj.

I tad se priča u flešbekovima vraća s kraja šezdesetih na početak pedesetih, kad je Kya bila klinka (glumi je Jojo Regina, vrlo dobra u prvoj većoj ulozi), najmađe dijete u disfunkcionalnoj obitelji koju je razorio otac alkoholičar i agresivac (Garret Dillahunt).

Članovi obitelji polako su napuštali kuću, jedan po jedan, da bi na kraju Kya ostala sama kad ju je i otac napustio. Misteriozni triler u tom dijelu postaje drama o odrastanju u močvari (“Bolje učiti od divljine nego u školi”), kao što su to bile “Zvijeri južnih divljina”, za koje je scenarij također napisala Lucy Alibar, ali i o društvenom izopćenju “drukčijih”.

”Ako si u nevolji, sakrij se duboko u močvari gdje rakovi pjevaju, kako je mama uvijek govorila”, odzvanja bratova rečenica na odlasku od Kye, formirajući izvorni naslov romana i filma “Where The Crawdads Sing”. Motiv izopćenja i napuštanja nastavlja se provlačiti kroz priču, kao i prirodnog instinkta za preživljavanje i ženskog osnaženja.

Nije čudno da Kyu podržavaju samo tamnoputi vlasnici lokalne trgovine, Skočko i njegova supruga Mabel (Sterling Macer Jr., Michael Hyatt), poznavajući dobro osjećaj kako je to biti drukčiji, kao i to da će protagonisticu napustiti još dva muškarca i slomiti joj srce.

”Bilo je nešto u ovom dječaku što je ublažilo napetost u mojim prsima”, Kya naratorski predstavlja Tatea (Taylor John Smith; “U sjeni zavjere”), prijatelja iz djetinjstva u kojeg se zaljubila nakon što ju je naučio čitati i pisati, ali on se nije vratio kad je obećao odlazeći na fakultet. Ipak, njihovo zaljubljivanje je iznimno sinematično zaslugom snimateljice Polly Morgan (“Lucy na nebu”, “Mjesto tišine 2”), sa sunčanim poljupcima obavijenim jesenjim lišćem na vjetru i dolijetanjem jata snježnih gusaka.

Flešbekovska romansa tjera gledatelja da zaboravlja na triler sve dok Tate ne ode na studij i u Kyin život uđe arogantni Chase, s kojim će se romantično zbližiti prije nego ovaj pokaže pravo lice. Prošlost u močvari postaje zanimljivija od sadašnjosti u sudnici gdje se suđenje odvija po “ps-u” sličnih ostvarenja.

Kratke sudske scene na momente čak i remete ritam flešbekova koji hvalevrijedno subvertiraju “murder mystery” triler i pretvaraju film u nešto drugo, riskirajući da će potencijalno odbiti fanove žanra do klimaksa, možda i dalje zahvaljujući dvosmislenu kraju koji je još intrigantniji uzimajući u obzir početak teksta. Tko je ubio Chasea? Odgovor ostaje skriven duboko u močvari... tamo gdje rakovi pjevaju.

Spoznaja da je spisateljica Delia Owens proteklog mjeseca tražena zbog ispitivanja u vezi s neriješenim slučajem umorstva pretvara zagonetni hit-triler “Djevojka iz močvare” (“Where The Crawdads Sing”) u nesvakidašnje kinoiskustvo. Film “Djevojka iz močvare” redateljice Olivije Newman, nastao u produkciji oskarovke Reese Witherspoon, koja je producirala i ekranizaciju “Nestale”, snimljen je prema Owensičinu bestseleru iz 2018., prodanom u više od 12 milijuna primjeraka.

Prije nego što je postala autorica bestselera, Owens je studirala zoologiju i proučavala divlje životinje u Africi. Ondje se spomenuto ubojstvo i dogodilo davne 1995., u zambijskom Nacionalnom parku, gdje je smrtno stradao navodni krivolovac.

U to doba, sredinom devedesetih, Owens je, zajedno sa suprugom Markom i njegovim sinom Christopherom, bila na glasu kao antikrivolovac, poput lika Sharlta Copleyja u filmu “Zvijer”. Nedugo poslije TV reportaže ABC Newsa o stradavanju krivolovca, Owensovi su, zanimljivo, otišli iz Afrike u Ameriku i nisu se nikad vratili natrag.

Zambijske vlasti smatraju da spisateljica nije bila direktno umiješana u umorstvo (što sama tvrdi), niti je optužena za zločin, ali bi mogla biti važna svjedokinja i zato je traže za ispitivanje. Život piše romane i romani pišu život. Romani pišu i ovaj film, pretpremijerno pogledan u “Cineplexxu” prije dolaska u hrvatska kina 18. kolovoza, nakon što je u svjetskima dosad zaradio 80 milijuna dolara.

Protagonistica romana i filma “Djevojka iz močvare”, Kya Clark (solidna Daisy Edgar-Jones; “Normal People”), okupirana je divljim životom kao Owens, doduše u močvari Sjeverne Karoline, ne Afrike, ovjekovječujući svijet oko sebe u formi ilustracija, slikajući životinje, insekte itd. Napokon, Kyu lokalna policija traži zbog ispitivanja u vezi sa smrću Chasea Andrewsa (Harris Dickinson; “King’s Man: Početak”) i ona postaje glavna osumnjičena.

”Unutar rita, ponegdje, prava je močvara. Močvara zna sve o smrti. Ne definira je kao tragediju, a sigurno ne kao grijeh”, zagonetno pripovijeda naratorica Kya na početku filma, prije nego što neki klinci nalete na (Chaseov) leš u blatu podno požarnog tornja. Je li Chase sam otvorio rešetku na požarnom tornju, tj. je li posrijedi samoubojstvo, ili ga je možda netko gurnuo odozgo, ključne su dvojbe koje ubrzo dobivaju odgovor ako pitate lokalce.

”Kriva si, znamo da si ubila Chasea”, svjetina optužuje Kyu, zvanu Djevojka iz močvare, koja je već godinama izopćena, izbjegavana i osuđena od strane zajednice. Na Kyinu stranu staje samo umirovljeni odvjetnik Tom Milton (vječno pouzdani David Strathairn), spreman da postane njezin branitelj, ali i da dozna nešto više o njoj.

I tad se priča u flešbekovima vraća s kraja šezdesetih na početak pedesetih, kad je Kya bila klinka (glumi je Jojo Regina, vrlo dobra u prvoj većoj ulozi), najmađe dijete u disfunkcionalnoj obitelji koju je razorio otac alkoholičar i agresivac (Garret Dillahunt).

Članovi obitelji polako su napuštali kuću, jedan po jedan, da bi na kraju Kya ostala sama kad ju je i otac napustio. Misteriozni triler u tom dijelu postaje drama o odrastanju u močvari (“Bolje učiti od divljine nego u školi”), kao što su to bile “Zvijeri južnih divljina”, za koje je scenarij također napisala Lucy Alibar, ali i o društvenom izopćenju “drukčijih”.

”Ako si u nevolji, sakrij se duboko u močvari gdje rakovi pjevaju, kako je mama uvijek govorila”, odzvanja bratova rečenica na odlasku od Kye, formirajući izvorni naslov romana i filma “Where The Crawdads Sing”. Motiv izopćenja i napuštanja nastavlja se provlačiti kroz priču, kao i prirodnog instinkta za preživljavanje i ženskog osnaženja.

Nije čudno da Kyu podržavaju samo tamnoputi vlasnici lokalne trgovine, Skočko i njegova supruga Mabel (Sterling Macer Jr., Michael Hyatt), poznavajući dobro osjećaj kako je to biti drukčiji, kao i to da će protagonisticu napustiti još dva muškarca i slomiti joj srce.

”Bilo je nešto u ovom dječaku što je ublažilo napetost u mojim prsima”, Kya naratorski predstavlja Tatea (Taylor John Smith; “U sjeni zavjere”), prijatelja iz djetinjstva u kojeg se zaljubila nakon što ju je naučio čitati i pisati, ali on se nije vratio kad je obećao odlazeći na fakultet. Ipak, njihovo zaljubljivanje je iznimno sinematično zaslugom snimateljice Polly Morgan (“Lucy na nebu”, “Mjesto tišine 2”), sa sunčanim poljupcima obavijenim jesenjim lišćem na vjetru i dolijetanjem jata snježnih gusaka.

Flešbekovska romansa tjera gledatelja da zaboravlja na triler sve dok Tate ne ode na studij i u Kyin život uđe arogantni Chase, s kojim će se romantično zbližiti prije nego ovaj pokaže pravo lice. Prošlost u močvari postaje zanimljivija od sadašnjosti u sudnici gdje se suđenje odvija po “ps-u” sličnih ostvarenja.

Kratke sudske scene na momente čak i remete ritam flešbekova koji hvalevrijedno subvertiraju “murder mystery” triler i pretvaraju film u nešto drugo, riskirajući da će potencijalno odbiti fanove žanra do klimaksa, možda i dalje zahvaljujući dvosmislenu kraju koji je još intrigantniji uzimajući u obzir početak teksta. Tko je ubio Chasea? Odgovor ostaje skriven duboko u močvari... tamo gdje rakovi pjevaju.

‘Djevojka iz močvare‘: Tamo gdje rakovi pjevaju

Spoznaja da je spisateljica Delia Owens proteklog mjeseca tražena zbog ispitivanja u vezi s neriješenim slučajem umorstva pretvara zagonetni hit-triler “Djevojka iz močvare” (“Where The Crawdads Sing”) u nesvakidašnje kinoiskustvo. Film “Djevojka iz močvare” redateljice Olivije Newman, nastao u produkciji oskarovke Reese Witherspoon, koja je producirala i ekranizaciju “Nestale”, snimljen je prema Owensičinu bestseleru iz 2018., prodanom u više od 12 milijuna primjeraka.

Prije nego što je postala autorica bestselera, Owens je studirala zoologiju i proučavala divlje životinje u Africi. Ondje se spomenuto ubojstvo i dogodilo davne 1995., u zambijskom Nacionalnom parku, gdje je smrtno stradao navodni krivolovac.
