Velika količina kiše koja se u noći sa srijede na četvrtak sručila na područje Nacionalnog parka Paklenica napravila je štetu koja će se sigurno sanirati mjesecima.
Čak 150 litara kiše po četvornome metru unutar samo nekoliko sati dovelo je do nezapamćenog bujanja potoka kroz kanjon Velike Paklenice, koji je u donjem dijelu izišao iz svoga toka i prekrio županijsku cestu koja od Jadranske magistrale u Starigradu vodi do glavnog ulaza u nacionalni park.
Zbog konfiguracije terena, odnosno prirodnog lijevka, stvorile su se bujice koje su nosile sve pred sobom: staze, odmarališta, vodovodne cijevi...
– Zbog velike količine oborina, te noći uopće nismo uspjeli prići lokaciji, već smo pravu razinu štete vidjeli tek sutradan i idućih dana. Stradala je glavna turistička staza na usponu prema planinarskom domu, građena tridesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, kao i vrijedne serpentine na njoj.

Mještani nam kažu kako ovakvo što ne pamte. Trenutačno nam je najveći problem vodovod koji s izvora opskrbljuje cijeli park i dio Starigrada. Cijevi koje su bile ukopane u pješačku stazu i okolne površine izišle su na površinu, razbilo ih je na više mjesta, tako da su svi naši objekti, planinarski dom, lugarnica i posjetiteljski centar "Podzemni grad", trenutačno bez vode – kaže Natalija Andačić, ravnateljica Nacionalnog parka Paklenica, te dodaje:
– Sam centar, na sreću, nije oštećen, ali je zatvoren. Ugibalište i stazu ispred centra doslovno je ispralo. Djelatnici "Vodovoda" odmah su izišli na teren kako bi se utvrdila šteta i počela sanacija, ali to će biti vrlo zahtjevan posao zbog naših specifičnih reljefnih okolnosti i teških uvjeta.
Kada počne popravljanje vodoopskrbnog sustava, cijevi duge po nekoliko metara morat će se nositi ručno jer na visinama koje se kreću od 80 do 250 metara nema drukčijeg pristupa. Na tom području, naime, strogo je zabranjen pristup vozilima i ne smije se prometovati.

Jedina pomoć za prijenos materijala bit će mazge i konji, koji i inače služe za opskrbu smještajnih objekata u višim zonama Velebita, a još uvijek se ispituje mogućnost da se najvišim točkama pomoć dopremi helikopterom.
Tek nakon analize cijelog terena, a površina Nacionalnog parka Paklenica zauzima oko 95 četvornih kilometara, znat će se kojim tempom će se provoditi sanacija. Također, dok se ne vrati voda, posjetiteljski centri bit će – zatvoreni.

Velika količina kiše koja se u noći sa srijede na četvrtak sručila na područje Nacionalnog parka Paklenica napravila je štetu koja će se sigurno sanirati mjesecima.
Čak 150 litara kiše po četvornome metru unutar samo nekoliko sati dovelo je do nezapamćenog bujanja potoka kroz kanjon Velike Paklenice, koji je u donjem dijelu izišao iz svoga toka i prekrio županijsku cestu koja od Jadranske magistrale u Starigradu vodi do glavnog ulaza u nacionalni park.
Zbog konfiguracije terena, odnosno prirodnog lijevka, stvorile su se bujice koje su nosile sve pred sobom: staze, odmarališta, vodovodne cijevi...
– Zbog velike količine oborina, te noći uopće nismo uspjeli prići lokaciji, već smo pravu razinu štete vidjeli tek sutradan i idućih dana. Stradala je glavna turistička staza na usponu prema planinarskom domu, građena tridesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, kao i vrijedne serpentine na njoj.

Mještani nam kažu kako ovakvo što ne pamte. Trenutačno nam je najveći problem vodovod koji s izvora opskrbljuje cijeli park i dio Starigrada. Cijevi koje su bile ukopane u pješačku stazu i okolne površine izišle su na površinu, razbilo ih je na više mjesta, tako da su svi naši objekti, planinarski dom, lugarnica i posjetiteljski centar "Podzemni grad", trenutačno bez vode – kaže Natalija Andačić, ravnateljica Nacionalnog parka Paklenica, te dodaje:
– Sam centar, na sreću, nije oštećen, ali je zatvoren. Ugibalište i stazu ispred centra doslovno je ispralo. Djelatnici "Vodovoda" odmah su izišli na teren kako bi se utvrdila šteta i počela sanacija, ali to će biti vrlo zahtjevan posao zbog naših specifičnih reljefnih okolnosti i teških uvjeta.
Kada počne popravljanje vodoopskrbnog sustava, cijevi duge po nekoliko metara morat će se nositi ručno jer na visinama koje se kreću od 80 do 250 metara nema drukčijeg pristupa. Na tom području, naime, strogo je zabranjen pristup vozilima i ne smije se prometovati.

Jedina pomoć za prijenos materijala bit će mazge i konji, koji i inače služe za opskrbu smještajnih objekata u višim zonama Velebita, a još uvijek se ispituje mogućnost da se najvišim točkama pomoć dopremi helikopterom.
Tek nakon analize cijelog terena, a površina Nacionalnog parka Paklenica zauzima oko 95 četvornih kilometara, znat će se kojim tempom će se provoditi sanacija. Također, dok se ne vrati voda, posjetiteljski centri bit će – zatvoreni.
