Mladi cavtatski znanstvenik Juraj Obradović dio je tima zagrebačkog Fakulteta elektrotehnike i računarstva, pobjednika prestižnog međunarodnog natjecanja u robotici u Abu Dhabiju. "Reprezentacija" Hrvatske trijumfirala je početkom veljače u iznimno oštroj konkurenciji robotičara i za svoj projekt osvojila nagradu od dva milijuna dolara.

Pobjedu je ovom 26-godišnjem inženjeru elektrotehnike i njegovu timu od 20 "ferovaca" donio projekt suradnje bespilotnih letjelica i besposadnih brodova u obavljanju složenih zadataka kao što su lociranje plovila uljeza, otkrivanje ilegalnog tereta te pronalazak i prijevoz objekata u okruženju bez globalnog satelitskog navigacijskog sustava.

S Jurajem smo po povratku iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata popričali o dojmovima i planovima za buduće inovacije.

Pobjednička ekipa FER-ovih robotičara

– Dvije godine truda i rada su se isplatile. Jako smo sretni rezultatima. Kad je započelo naše natjecanje iz robotike, ideja je bila napravili multirobotski sustav za rješavanje zadatka koji su nam zadali organizatori. Zadatak je započinjao izvješćem u kojem smo dobili brod koji smo na području od otprilike tri puta tri kilometra morali pronaći, autonomno katamaranom od osam metara doći do njega i preuzeti dva predmeta. Pripremali smo se dvije godine kroz različite terene i na kraju proveli mjesec dana u Abu Dhabiju u finalnom ogledu s pet timova i odnijeli pobjedu.

Ja sam doktorand na Fakultetu elektrotehnike i računarstva, već dvije godine radim tamo i nadam se da ću u skorije vrijeme završiti doktorat – kaže nam ovaj mladi istraživač u Laboratoriju za pomorske sustave i tehnologije.

Otkriva koliko je zapravo bilo teško doći do same završnice.

– Uz nas je za finalnu nagradu konkuriralo pet znanstvenih timova. U početku natjecanje bila su 52 tima, trebalo je proći tu "white paper" fazu i predstaviti idejno rješenje pristupa problemu. Zatim smo imali simulacijsku fazu u kojoj je organizator za nas pripremio simulator koji predstavlja okruženje u kojem ćemo se u konačnici naći.

U finalnu fazu u Abu Dhabiju je uz naš išao kineski, južnokorejski, danski i poljski tim. Na kraju je naš tim pobijedio – kaže Obradović i dodaje kako su među članovima tima bili redom mladi doktorandi, postdoktoranti istraživači i profesori s FER-a u ulozi mentora, a ekipa je zapravo djelovala kao spoj dvaju laboratorija, jednog koji se bavi pomorskim tehnologijama – LABUST i drugog specijaliziranog za tehnologije vezane uz dronove – LARICS.

– Očekujemo da će vrlo skoro naš pobjednički projekt naći primjenu na moru. S ovom pobjedom vjerujemo da je cijeli "robot community" čuo za nas i nadamo se novim prilikama u skoroj budućnosti – naglašava Juraj Obradović.

Upitan o bogatoj novčanoj nagradi, dodaje:

– Kako utrošiti novac, još ne znamo. Pričekajmo da se emocije slegnu. U budućnosti se svakako nadamo sudjelovanju na drugim međunarodnim natjecanjima, sad vidimo da možemo. Bila je ovo prilika za provjeru kako stojimo na razini vrhunske robotike – ističe Juraj koji se trajno preselio u Cavtat.

– Nasreću, moj se posao može raditi i remote, povremeno otiđem u Zagreb, ali većinu vremena provodim u Cavtatu. Konavle su uvijek u srcu – zaključuje ovaj FER-ovac koji je s kolegama, među kojima je i Dubrovčanin Matko Batoš, nastupio u završnici globalnog natjecanja koje osobno sponzorira predsjednik Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata i vladar Abu Dhabija šeik Mohamed bin Zayed.

Mladi cavtatski znanstvenik Juraj Obradović dio je tima zagrebačkog Fakulteta elektrotehnike i računarstva, pobjednika prestižnog međunarodnog natjecanja u robotici u Abu Dhabiju. "Reprezentacija" Hrvatske trijumfirala je početkom veljače u iznimno oštroj konkurenciji robotičara i za svoj projekt osvojila nagradu od dva milijuna dolara.

Pobjedu je ovom 26-godišnjem inženjeru elektrotehnike i njegovu timu od 20 "ferovaca" donio projekt suradnje bespilotnih letjelica i besposadnih brodova u obavljanju složenih zadataka kao što su lociranje plovila uljeza, otkrivanje ilegalnog tereta te pronalazak i prijevoz objekata u okruženju bez globalnog satelitskog navigacijskog sustava.

S Jurajem smo po povratku iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata popričali o dojmovima i planovima za buduće inovacije.

– Dvije godine truda i rada su se isplatile. Jako smo sretni rezultatima. Kad je započelo naše natjecanje iz robotike, ideja je bila napravili multirobotski sustav za rješavanje zadatka koji su nam zadali organizatori. Zadatak je započinjao izvješćem u kojem smo dobili brod koji smo na području od otprilike tri puta tri kilometra morali pronaći, autonomno katamaranom od osam metara doći do njega i preuzeti dva predmeta. Pripremali smo se dvije godine kroz različite terene i na kraju proveli mjesec dana u Abu Dhabiju u finalnom ogledu s pet timova i odnijeli pobjedu.

Ja sam doktorand na Fakultetu elektrotehnike i računarstva, već dvije godine radim tamo i nadam se da ću u skorije vrijeme završiti doktorat – kaže nam ovaj mladi istraživač u Laboratoriju za pomorske sustave i tehnologije.

Otkriva koliko je zapravo bilo teško doći do same završnice.

– Uz nas je za finalnu nagradu konkuriralo pet znanstvenih timova. U početku natjecanje bila su 52 tima, trebalo je proći tu "white paper" fazu i predstaviti idejno rješenje pristupa problemu. Zatim smo imali simulacijsku fazu u kojoj je organizator za nas pripremio simulator koji predstavlja okruženje u kojem ćemo se u konačnici naći.

U finalnu fazu u Abu Dhabiju je uz naš išao kineski, južnokorejski, danski i poljski tim. Na kraju je naš tim pobijedio – kaže Obradović i dodaje kako su među članovima tima bili redom mladi doktorandi, postdoktoranti istraživači i profesori s FER-a u ulozi mentora, a ekipa je zapravo djelovala kao spoj dvaju laboratorija, jednog koji se bavi pomorskim tehnologijama – LABUST i drugog specijaliziranog za tehnologije vezane uz dronove – LARICS.

– Očekujemo da će vrlo skoro naš pobjednički projekt naći primjenu na moru. S ovom pobjedom vjerujemo da je cijeli "robot community" čuo za nas i nadamo se novim prilikama u skoroj budućnosti – naglašava Juraj Obradović.

Upitan o bogatoj novčanoj nagradi, dodaje:

– Kako utrošiti novac, još ne znamo. Pričekajmo da se emocije slegnu. U budućnosti se svakako nadamo sudjelovanju na drugim međunarodnim natjecanjima, sad vidimo da možemo. Bila je ovo prilika za provjeru kako stojimo na razini vrhunske robotike – ističe Juraj koji se trajno preselio u Cavtat.

– Nasreću, moj se posao može raditi i remote, povremeno otiđem u Zagreb, ali većinu vremena provodim u Cavtatu. Konavle su uvijek u srcu – zaključuje ovaj FER-ovac koji je s kolegama, među kojima je i Dubrovčanin Matko Batoš, nastupio u završnici globalnog natjecanja koje osobno sponzorira predsjednik Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata i vladar Abu Dhabija šeik Mohamed bin Zayed.
