Završio je važan projekt, modificirani brod za rasuti teret od 43.000 tona upravo je zaključio šestomjesečnu probu koristeći kombinaciju dizelskih motora i para automatskih jedara, piše Revija HAK.

Pyxis Ocean, koji je unajmila tvrtka Cargill naknadno je opremljen s dva WindWinga koje je razvio BAR Technologies, na moru je bio od kolovoza 2023. godine. Plovio je preko Indijskog oceana, Tihog oceana, sjevernog i južnog Atlantika.

Sklopiva jedra izrađena od čelika i staklenih vlakana i visoka su 37,5 metara. Njihova svrha nije zamijeniti konvencionalne dizelske motore, već pružiti dodatnu propulziju dok brod plovi u područja s povoljnim vjetrovima i strujama. Jednostavan sustav na mostu javlja posadi kada treba aktivirati ili deaktivirati WindWings. Jedra automatski reagiraju na promjene vjetra i postavljaju se za optimalnu brzinu. To omogućuje da se dizelski motori priguše bez usporavanja broda.

Cargill je objavio da je Pyxis Ocean štedio ekvivalent od tri tone goriva dnevno uz smanjenje emisije ugljičnog dioksida od 11,2 tone (što je, kažu, jednako uklanjanju 480 automobila s ceste) i općenito ušteda od 14 posto. Sljedeći korak je osigurati da su takvi veliki brodovi opremljeni jedrima kompatibilni s 250 globalnih brodskih luka.

Čini se da je ovaj test bio ključni dokaz isplativosti tehnologije jer BAR Technologies najavljuje masovnu proizvodnju jedara te čak instalaciju po tri jedra na brodove, što će donijeti dodatne uštede.

Završio je važan projekt, modificirani brod za rasuti teret od 43.000 tona upravo je zaključio šestomjesečnu probu koristeći kombinaciju dizelskih motora i para automatskih jedara, piše Revija HAK.

Pyxis Ocean, koji je unajmila tvrtka Cargill naknadno je opremljen s dva WindWinga koje je razvio BAR Technologies, na moru je bio od kolovoza 2023. godine. Plovio je preko Indijskog oceana, Tihog oceana, sjevernog i južnog Atlantika.

Sklopiva jedra izrađena od čelika i staklenih vlakana i visoka su 37,5 metara. Njihova svrha nije zamijeniti konvencionalne dizelske motore, već pružiti dodatnu propulziju dok brod plovi u područja s povoljnim vjetrovima i strujama. Jednostavan sustav na mostu javlja posadi kada treba aktivirati ili deaktivirati WindWings. Jedra automatski reagiraju na promjene vjetra i postavljaju se za optimalnu brzinu. To omogućuje da se dizelski motori priguše bez usporavanja broda.

Cargill je objavio da je Pyxis Ocean štedio ekvivalent od tri tone goriva dnevno uz smanjenje emisije ugljičnog dioksida od 11,2 tone (što je, kažu, jednako uklanjanju 480 automobila s ceste) i općenito ušteda od 14 posto. Sljedeći korak je osigurati da su takvi veliki brodovi opremljeni jedrima kompatibilni s 250 globalnih brodskih luka.

Završio je važan projekt, modificirani brod za rasuti teret od 43.000 tona upravo je zaključio šestomjesečnu probu koristeći kombinaciju dizelskih motora i para automatskih jedara, piše Revija HAK.

Pyxis Ocean, koji je unajmila tvrtka Cargill naknadno je opremljen s dva WindWinga koje je razvio BAR Technologies, na moru je bio od kolovoza 2023. godine. Plovio je preko Indijskog oceana, Tihog oceana, sjevernog i južnog Atlantika.

Sklopiva jedra izrađena od čelika i staklenih vlakana i visoka su 37,5 metara. Njihova svrha nije zamijeniti konvencionalne dizelske motore, već pružiti dodatnu propulziju dok brod plovi u područja s povoljnim vjetrovima i strujama. Jednostavan sustav na mostu javlja posadi kada treba aktivirati ili deaktivirati WindWings. Jedra automatski reagiraju na promjene vjetra i postavljaju se za optimalnu brzinu. To omogućuje da se dizelski motori priguše bez usporavanja broda.

Cargill je objavio da je Pyxis Ocean štedio ekvivalent od tri tone goriva dnevno uz smanjenje emisije ugljičnog dioksida od 11,2 tone (što je, kažu, jednako uklanjanju 480 automobila s ceste) i općenito ušteda od 14 posto. Sljedeći korak je osigurati da su takvi veliki brodovi opremljeni jedrima kompatibilni s 250 globalnih brodskih luka.
